Thanks for watching guys, sorry i couldn't get the mapping done for this video as its been a made house the last few weeks which is coming up on the future episodes. As always, thats for the support and love legends 🫶🍻
😅 now your making us blush, oh year hours of work guys, we didn’t get this vid loaded till 3am yesterday and didn’t finish the thumb nail till 11pm . It’s a full on job 🫠
33 years ago we took our 4 kids up the Oodnadatta Track in the October School Hols and it was hot - we were in tents and no air cond in the 47series Troopy. Adam Plate was the original owner of the Pink Roadhouse and also offered us and the kids the use of his swimming pool - absolute magic. That mudmap you were looking at was one of Adam's original maps. He was largely responsible for opening up the Oodnadatta Track to tourists. My first trip was 1978 - soon after he started setting up the roadhouse.
@@LostTribeAdventures Yeah, used those 500ml spray bottles - kids had water fights in the back of the Troopy to stay cool. Also had a pair of canvas water bags to keep drinking water cool - just add cordial. We've done some outback travel in summer months - you do it once - thats all - not worth the flies and the hot nights. Its 46 years since my first Oodnadatta Track trip - might have done it about 20+ times since. Love the SA outback.
Your drone flying is amazing. You do such cool manoeuvres and get such amazing shots that really show the landscape. We love watching it. And we love everything about your videos.
Yep I went through Coober Pedy on the way to Darwin with my teenage kid's about 9 years ago and thought what a crazy looking place , then on the way back we stopped and stayed a night and I said I have to come back and have a good look at this place! Just what I saw was amazing and that wasn't much!
What an incredible adventure, what an incredible landscape. And some of your best footage yet so far I think. So happy you loved it. Also, Steph I really like the boots and dress look ☺️
Yea we did want to do that one as well but we though we would try the Painted Desert instead as it get less attention over the breakaways and a bit harder to get to. We might have to do the breakaways on the next lap 😉
Great video footage love your drone footage ! You guys our my favourite UA-cam stars for travelling keeping it real . How many km do you roughy cover most days do your kids get a bit board how do you keep them happy in between stops ? Cheers love your videos keep up the great work cheers 🍻
Thankyou ☺️ it’s def a balance with the kms, now in NT we are finding it harder going from stop to stop as they are 100’s of kms apart where SA, 20 mins up the road and your at the next camp. next we have WA which is going to be hectic🥴
I’m in the south west of wa happy to tell you a couple of great spots . If you head to Bunbury great 48 hour free stop right across from a great beach 🏖 though it is in the concrete jungle.
Awesome episode and we did the Oodnadatta track Dec/Jan Coober Pedy was amazing for us too but we could not fly our drone because of the airport, how did you do that? Just awesome footage of the Painted Desert.
Thanks mate, yea how good is it. So there were areas we couldn’t it. We have to register our permit number and not flight above 120m and stay away from the exclusion zones, which usually the drone will stop before you can go in them anyway depending on the drone.✌️🍻 the painted desert was crazy pretty, loved every minute of it but super hot 🥵
Bummer you didn’t get to go upto Dalhousie springs , Mt dare and out via Fink. The only good thing is you missed out on roads that make oondatta track feel like a highway especially with a van in tow .. It’s rough with top speeds of 20kmh especially in and out of Dalhousie as it just does not get graded. But defiantly worth doing so hopefully next time.
yea i was pretty bummed mate, i was looking forward to it. They said it wasnt going to be open for another week too so we could really wait around either. Next time 😉 thanks for watching 🍻
like many other post... your drone work is amazing!!! I am curious as to what speed the car is traveling at when you are following it with drone.... Also what drone you are using.? it seems to have a fast tracking speed with very little motion blur..
awesome stuff guys . i luv the Australian outback ... ive never been there to the Oodnadatta roadhouse it looks cool tho . its on the bucket list tho ... big thumbs up
Thanks legend, yea the Oodnadatta was killa, loved every minute of it, but after that not so much as you will see in upcoming ep’s the centre is a bit of a mixed bag 😑
Another great episode. So when you did the Anderson plug did it trip your circuits? We had something similar happen on the Strez and it tripped our circuits turning everything off 🤦♂️
@@LostTribeAdventures yeah ours definitely touched that’s what tripped everything. So lucky didn’t happen to you especially in the heat you could’ve lost a lot of food.
Hi mate, You might want to look at a Donaldson air fliter for the dust. You might be surprised how good it is. Like your show Pete P.S. Essential 4x4 have them at a good price
Thanks legend, yea used the DRS on the trip, not 100% sure what brand it is.. I think its a company in Melbourne.. its the black box thing at the top front of the van 🫶🍻
Amazing scenery - particularly out in the Painted Desert. Some photography right on point as per usual. Great content. Thanks for going to the lengths of getting sweaty mangoes for your content and us!! 😂😂. Cheers, dd
This is exactly why I tell people to keep their electrical systems simple. All this new gear with modules which talk to other modules & require firmware updates etc etc, it’s just more to go wrong! An electrical system requires a way to store the power, charge it & distribute it. That’s it! No need for all this fancy gadgetry, it’s just sales people seeking u crap which u don’t need!😂
Oh I’m with you, “keep it simple stupid” is my middle name hence why we purchased the most low specd new car you can buy on the market , the 70 series. And honestly I wish it have an old p pump motor in it over the common rail tech. But we did find the limits of the old system in our old van, and it was super basic and no thrills. We need a bit more in this new one, and this system is killa, and to be brutal honestly I think it was more operator error anyway😂
Guys the way you slap them episodes together ,tack on some verbiage, tickle the story some add some diesel and dust 😳 Pow a great 26 minutes & 58 seconds timeframe has disappeared hahaha . You sure are getting good at this shite lol .
Hahaha, it was a slap job, only finished the ep last night and it took till 3am to upload it 😅 yea we have been putting the bin chicken through its paces lately and plenty more to come. Thanks for the kind words legend and the ongoing support 🍻✌️
Thanks for watching guys, sorry i couldn't get the mapping done for this video as its been a made house the last few weeks which is coming up on the future episodes. As always, thats for the support and love legends 🫶🍻
Best caravanning channel on UA-cam and the best editing I know it takes work editing so my family to your family we love it😃👍👍👍

Oh wow, that bloody awesome. Would have been a totally different adventure back then, 47 series no a/c.. we are pretty spoiled these days 👌🍻

Thankyou ☺️ I love the droning, wish I could find a bit more time to do it 😂 we always seemed to be rushed
Another brilliant episode enjoyed by two old caravanners (80 and 77).
thanks legends, what do you mean? You guys are spring chickens 😉 thanks for the love guys 🫶
The painted desert is hands down one of my favourite places, too many people miss this gem on their travels
I know, we have asked a few it they went out to see it but haven’t come across anyone yet that did, magic spot 👌🍻
Get episode guys, drone footage is awesome. We are doing to Oodnadatta track in July and get not wait after watching this

Thanks legends, oh yea so are we. Honestly we wouldnt have turned around if we couldnt get it going 🤙 thanks for the support 🍻
All so like the ungrounded tour in copper pedy
Yep I went through Coober Pedy on the way to Darwin with my teenage kid's about 9 years ago and thought what a crazy looking place , then on the way back we stopped and stayed a night and I said I have to come back and have a good look at this place! Amazing drone footage and good coverage of Coober Pedy. We left there a week ago. Had a good time there. Keep up the good work and keeping it real
Thankyou, how good is it hey? And most of the stuff was shut. Did you do the Oodnadatta too?
FYI Coober Pedy is pronounced ‘Coo ber Pee dee ’ . Hope that makes sense. Love your style guys. You are so down to earth.😊
Thanks Jan, Engrish isnt my jam 😂 thanks for the support
What an incredible adventure, what an incredible landscape. And some of your best footage yet so far I think. So happy you loved it. Also, Steph I really like the boots and dress look ☺️
Really great ep guys odna is a great little place i renovated 14 house’s there back in 2015 was there for about 9 months
Oh wow really, yea its a cool little place and the owner of the pink road house were awesome too. Thanks for the support mate as always 🍻🫶
There's also the Kanku Breakaways National Park. Turn off just outside of CP. Bloody incredible
Yea we did want to do that one as well but we though we would try the Painted Desert instead as it get less attention over the breakaways and a bit harder to get to. We might have to do the breakaways on the next lap 😉
Great episode. When we stayed out the back of the roadhouse the locals had a party! We got No sleep.
Oh really, you could have heard a pin drop when we were there. Best night sleep on the road I reckon, but we were the only traveller in town 😂

Another gr8 Ep…. Can never get tired of the Ood…. Always a gr8 adventure 🤙
thanks legends, oh yea we loved it.. one of the best adventure track we have done so far🍻🤙
Good episode, fit a sirocco fan to push Acon air flow down van dead end.
👌 we do have the Siroccos in the van but it wasn’t enough to give it that push, the dodgey “LTA” spec cardboard detour thingys works a treat👌🍻
Bloody brilliant drone flying fella!!!!👌
😉🍻 thanks mate, appreciate it 🤟
The work u guys put into these vids is top notch, drone footage is expert level👌 enjoying your travels.
Thanks mate, yea many late nights go into these vids, glad your enjoying them👌🍻🤟

Thankyou☺️ usually 40-50km per hour. Just running a DJI mini 4 pro.. no tracking all manual flying with Steph in the hot seat driving 🫵🍻

Mate can I ask what drone do you have ?? footage is great.
Hey hey, DJI mini 4 pro my friend, cracka little rig and does the job 🍻👌

I love watching you go places I will never go. I need air aircon if it's over 25😂😂
😂😂😂 our limit is about 34 then we need the ac I think, Darwin has been pushing our limit not with the heat but humidity 🥵
Did you try a pizza at John’s Pizza Shop, it has won best pizza in Australia many times. They do an excellent Spartan and a Road Kill pizza 👌🤟😋😋😋
Nooooo I wish I did though, one thing we missed 😑 next time ✌️🍻
