(Before I tell my story, I must clarify that this is my sister's account and not my own) Hello. I am someone who hopes to be a writer in the future. I am writing a story that is something like Jekyll and Hyde. As far as being possessed by an eviler side of one's self goes. However, I came across the longest and most HORRIBLE case of writer's block with no inspiration and no way out! I was considering giving up writing forever! That was, until, I came across a song from this very musical, Confrontation to be exact. And I thought, well, this is just like my character! I need to find more of this! I looked up the album and was excited to see that it was all on UA-cam. But I wasn't satisfied, I wanted to see the lyrics, see every word so I wouldn't mishear anything in the album without subtitles. You see, I use music that matches my characters in certain scenes and situations so I can feel what the character is feeling, think what the character is thinking. That is what I have found through this. A thousand glorious thankyous to you my friend! You have freed me from my dreaded writer's block and my head is absolutely BURSTING with ideas for my character. Thank you oh so much for what you have done! Who knows, you may have inspired the maker of the next bestseller! Fare thee well friend, and may your days be prosperous! ~A Writer in the Making ❤️ All fancy talk aside, you've earned a medal, here, take it, I'll leave it for you 👉 🥇 And while your at it, have a cookie too (🍪) oh, and some milk as well 🥛
Thank you so much for sharing this and I'm really glad that I could be of help to you ❤️ I wish you all the best my friend and I'm looking forward to hearing more as to how your story would turn out ❤️❤️ I would also be honored if you would be able to share your story as well here (I love reading stories and seeing that you're getting inspiration from one of my favorite musicals, I'll be much more interested with it) P.S. Thanks for the medal, cookie and milk ❤️
In a way, your story is very similar to how I came across this musical (and book). I was watching a video by the UA-camr MsMojo titled “Top 20 hardest Broadway songs to sing”, and guess what? “#16: Confrontation, Jekyll and Hyde.” I barely had a clue what this show was at the time, so I was like “Ooh! Jekyll and Hyde! What’s that?” And I proceeded to look it up and find a Wikipedia article. It turns out I found the article on the original book (which the musical is loosely based on) first, and soon enough I found the article on the musical. I knew there would be curse words, adult content (and I am a girl who is trying to stay pure), so I was reluctant to watch videos of it on UA-cam, but eventually I “plucked up courage” as they say in The Hobbit, and finally watched the “Confrontation” scene. Now I am a fan of this story (meaning not just the musical, but I’ve also finished the book), and it turns out that my dad worked with the main composer of the musical, Frank Wildhorn, and his wife, who is an actress named Linda Eder (she plays Lucy Harris in this show), at some point before I was born. Now I am looking into more of Wildhorn’s works/shows, and it was all because of MsMojo. I cannot thank her enough for getting me into this!
Geez, Jekyll was so hopeful in this song... I love the fact that you've made a lyric video! I love this musical and I'm glad it is at least getting some recognition!
