Replacing chain and sprockets on a dirt bike (KTM)

  • I replaced the chain and sprockets on my 2018 KTM 300 XC. Not for wear but because I want to change the gear ratio for a long ride. Note that I did screw up and removed the chain before I removed the front sprocket (you'll see the chain is undone at the beginning of the video. It's a lot easier to leave it on to remove the front sprocket.

    The chain look's tight. And the there is no adjustment forward to loosen and fix it.

      Sure does. It was a while ago, I probably ended up turning the blocks around.. not meant to be used that way but it works if you don't want to add a full link to remove it as the chain stretches.

      @@DanLacroix I will do mine in a couple of weeks. What do your recommend for prevent this happen? I thought before actually cut it, when I first put the chain on the sprocket to measure, try to measure the if it looks loose as specs. (in mine is 5mm tension from arm)?
