I have visited your city several times!. I love all of the people I have met and talked to in Savanah, GA. I love Charleston SC, but I love all the wonderful people I met in Savannah GA! If I could afford to live South, I would love Savannah GA!
Thank you! Y’all did my city justice❤️ You made it look as beautiful on screen as it does in real life ❤️ Savannah and ❤️the tourists that keep downtown thriving
I visited the year before covid, what a beautiful place. Spent five days in the historic district. One of the most wonderful city I’ve ever been to. Longing to return in 2023.
Dennis and Liz, I just love Savannah, GA so much! I Love my favorite dinner at the Pink House every year! The parks are so beautiful, the people are also so beautiful and welcoming!
Native Savannahian here! I giggled when you mentioned out to-go cups. We elect our Mayors based off their stance on that rule. Ha! Kidding, but only slightly ;) Glad you enjoyed out city. There is SO much to do and see! Tybee Island has a great campground should you want to return and stay at the beach. It's called Rivers End and it's on the North end of the island. You can easily get around the whole island on bicycles (it's 3 miles long if I'm not mistaken). There's a lighthouse, a great little theatre called the Tybee Post, a science museum, pier, great restaurants, shops, etc.
I love it. Go there and take it all in. Read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil while home. Then go back. You will experience and see so much more on another level.
The historic district is one of the largest in the southeast. Forsyth park is also considered part of the historic district of Savannah. You need more than a day for the Savannah area. Isle of Hope is literally minutes from from Skidaway Island where you stayed and is well worth a visit! It is a real life step back in time place.
Awww Mrs. Wilkes,I remember her well.I thought it was the best thing about Savannah. I lived in the Historic District in the 80's and all of the 90's as a young man. The big secret was you could go the small kitchen in back and the cooks would fill up a big styrofoam container with anything you wanted. It cost $7.00 and I think we called it a plate, but that container would weigh 5 or 6 pounds. Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese, any Southern homestyle comfort food you could think of. I remember eating for days from one of those plates. Your video brought me back, you did a nice job with it.
Went to Savannah a few years ago and loved it, actually stood in line for Wilks restaurant as well. We rented bikes twice and saw the entire city from that vantage point which was perfect. We want to go back after the pandemic is long gone.
great job capturing the beauty of our city!! Born and raised on Tybee Island! I would love to share some local secrets with you if you come back for another visit!!
Dennis and Liz, if we all can have our Savannah , GA Irish Parade in 2022 in March! I would love to meet up and buy you two dinner at the Pink House (Just my so decadent menu) Love following you two! Planning on being on South Bay Street for St Patrick' s Day!. But of Course, Savannah , GA during, St Patrick's Day is so out of the question! Well my older group of friends are trying to enjoy at least one more year of travel!
The skidaway park is like 10 minutes from my house! Me and my friend used to go there on walks during the summer, an absolutely beautiful spot for nature just make sure you wear long sleeves those ticks don't mess around. There's also a cool wood tower down one of the connecting paths where you can sit and look out at the water and the sunset
We met our friends there for annual weekend together last weekend. Saw the JW Marriott lobby, visited Skidaway SP and walked the short trail. Hoping to camp there this spring.
My sister currently lives in savanna and I went to river street and it is so nice! My sister had been to that park too with her dog! I will definitely tell her to put the first restaurant on the bucket list!
I had to laugh outloud at your comment on the unhealthiness of vanilla wafers and pudding mix, said while you were eating and drinking your way through Savannah.
Cool, the irony is not lost on me. Although it was certainly one of the more unhealthy items 😂 it's just 100% processed food with loads of sugar. But yes, none of its healthy.
Wonderful video. I was there last weekend, stayed at the DeSoto - Forsyth Park, Mercer house, Jones Street were breathtaking. I would love to stay in one of the homes on Jones street.
I use to go up to Savannah from Florida to work on movies , now living in Washington state my wife got a job in Savannah so now I have to see what life is like in Savannah
I am about to go to Savannah and found your video helpful. I like knowing about other places to visit or eat than the usual touristy places, i.e. the dive bar and the noodle house. I loved it, thank you for sharing!
Thank you Dennis and Liz for taking me with you on this to Savannah. What a great town. I was able to do smellavision on my phone with all that great food you got from the restaurant. I need to go there someday. Did you do a lot of walking around after eating all that food? Lol! I know I would. Lol! Have a great weekend and see you soon! If not have a Merry Christmas. And a Happy New Year!
Thanks for such a great video of a place we have yet to visit....thinking now that we simply must make it a point to! You had Dave at fried chicken and banana pudding!
Great job. I spent my early 20's in downtown Savannah and I'm glad you just didn't do Leopold's and the Paula Deen restaurant (like everyone does). I approve!
My sister asked how many pieces of chicken were on an order and she was told 4 pieces, (she got 11), we each ordered three side items and got six, ..................... we were happy!
I just discovered you yesterday. Broke my foot June 27. Bought my first tv in 7 years July 4 weekend. You two are delightful!! Even when faced with letdowns! I’m in my 60s and could adopt you both. Started with you in Charleston (I live in Greenville) went to the UP of MI. EDISTO now have Savanna on pause to type this. I plan to walk the trails many more years. Looking forward to more ideas. BTW have you checked out Jekyll Island? It’s been a decade since I’ve been there. But was one of my late husband’s and my top favorites.
So glad you found us and were giving you a little bit of entertainment as you heal. We haven't been to Jekyll on the vlog (but have been personally). So many places to visit and share! Thanks!
Super fun to watch as we are only a state away! How far out did you make your reservations at the campground? We are looking at the campground S of Savannah and there are random sites often available. The CG you were at - a few single nights available. Loved the walking past the incredible homes (reminds me of Charleston).
Love the video- we have a trip scheduled in a couple of weeks. Will be camping at Skidaway Island State Park. Quick question - love your backpack purse - where did you find it? Thanks
Hm bit of a mistake to watch on any empty stomach. 😄 A good friend lives in Savannah and for ages she’s been saying come and visit. Will take her up on it this year! 🚐
I think it was funny that you eat macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and then you said that banana pudding is it healthy and I immediately said yes it is
Hi! I love your videos. I'm from Rome and I wanna visit the best historical cities like Savannah. Any suggestion? Maybe i'll move there. Looking for something charming and cultural ( music, creative people, sustainble cost of living, warm people, nice weather). They told me Georgia is too much humid and the cost of living is increasing. Bugs problems and Old cities like Savannah are too small for a 30 yold person ... hugs from Rome.
Liz, we want to know which is worse, feeling heavy after eating all of that food or feeling bloated and like you are going to puke? Regardless it is a terrible feeling when your eyes and tongue take over and you eat more than your stomach can handle.
Nice video. But no mention of the Jim Williams house? No tour of the the most famous house in Savannah? The Mercer House? John Paul Jones wrote Treasure Island here. Nothing on the Boneventure cemetery? Please read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Its fascinating. Then revisit.
Hello 👋… new to your channel and just subscribe 😊 we are looking into purchasing a small class C RV so my family and I can vacation in and make many memories together and I would like to know how do you go about exploring where you are staying with your RV? Do you drive it anywhere you like to go or do you Uber, etc… I see that you usually stay at camp grounds or state parks… so do you park your camper and either walk/Uber to places and just come back at the end of the day or do you bring your camper with you to explore? Can small class c RV park just about anywhere? Hahahaha sorry for these questions… I just need to know about movability before and you seem to have to much experience on this 😊 thank you so much!!!! ❤️
Hi there! We have a scooter that we use to get around! We also have Lectric e-bikes now so we have two options. If it's bad weather we'll take an Uber if they are available in the area. We have driven it into town several times but only if we know we have a safe and spacious place to park. - Liz
I was born and raised in Savannah and still live here. I love my city and I love seeing other people fall in love with our beautiful city! ❤️
I have visited your city several times!. I love all of the people I have met and talked to in Savanah, GA. I love Charleston SC, but I love all the wonderful people I met in Savannah GA! If I could afford to live South, I would love Savannah GA!

I visited the year before covid, what a beautiful place. Spent five days in the historic district. One of the most wonderful city I’ve ever been to. Longing to return in 2023.
Y’all did a fabulous job showing off Savannah. I love living here and having a walking tour company and showing visitors what Savannah has to offer.
Yours was the first Savannah video that gave tips on some not so well known places. Thanks!
Awesome glad it helped
Dennis and Liz, I just love Savannah, GA so much! I Love my favorite dinner at the Pink House every year! The parks are so beautiful, the people are also so beautiful and welcoming!

those back door take outs would usually feed two to three people easily. And those ladies in the kitchen were always so gracious.

We were in Savanna in September and loved it. We only stayed 2 days but really liked it a lot.
I enjoyed watching the video and learning some new things about Savannah that I didn’t know before! Thanks for sharing!

Loved this video. My favorite part of it was seeing Your face when you said, “I feel heavy!” LOL at that one.
We met our friends there for annual weekend together last weekend. Saw the JW Marriott lobby, visited Skidaway SP and walked the short trail. Hoping to camp there this spring.

Great video fellow creator from Charleston! Looks delicious!
Awesome! Thanks for watching
So happy I live here! Great video!
Cool video of a great city. Travel safe.
Savannah is more fun than Atlanta by far nowadays. Urban, Walkable, Unique and Fun.
Great video!!! The food looked amazing

Savannah is my soul......
I have Mrs. Wilkes' cookbook.
My fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Poetter, founded SCAD.
That awesome!
Ahh, Poetter. Not a last name I'd keep, given the family's uh..history. SCAD, in a way, was founded on blood money.
Thank you Dennis and Liz for taking me with you on this to Savannah. What a great town. I was able to do smellavision on my phone with all that great food you got from the restaurant. Great video. You should compare it with Amish fried chicken at Lancaster Pa and tell us which one is the best 😜
wife me and son almost victim yesterday. believe me you better be able to protect yourself in this place.
Sorry to hear that. Glad you're safe
Will you all be in Tampa for Rv show. There’s a seafood fest going on and sailboat show. Like the Annapolis show in oct.
I’m trying to relocate there
I think it was funny that you eat macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and then you said that banana pudding is it healthy and I immediately said yes it is
Haha all of it was unhealthy and boy did we feel it. So tasty though!
Next time you come you wanna see if the place you are staying has a key for Mata Hari's they will know what your talking about just ask.
I love your backpack! Where’d you find it?
In a small store in Oaxaca Mexico 😊
Come again soon❣️
I'm going to Savannah next month and Mrs Wilkes is on are List, what time did you go?
Nice video
Do you know if the dining room is now open like old times? And if you want to get in quicker what time would you recommend we arrive? No reservations?
No reservations and I'm not sure if it's open for normal dining yet. They may stick with outdoor only permanently. I'm sure their website will share.
Love my beautiful city;definitely love this video!Come Back & visit Cafe' In our beautiful City Market!!!

Boston maybe? Got lots of charm and history and big city! Charleston is also gorgeous but it's hot and humid there too. Luckily great beaches nearby.
What is the name of that prohibition bar?
Liz, we want to know which is worse, feeling heavy after eating all of that food or feeling bloated and like you are going to puke? Regardless it is a terrible feeling when your eyes and tongue take over and you eat more than your stomach can handle.
Great video of Savannah! Love this city!
Nice
And be careful with the bowl , it may have Covid scary ,😬
Yes, I lived there lovely area.
High crime in areas so beware

I HAVE to interrupt you at 1:50 ................ This is "Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House" not Dining Room.
They've changed the name. As it's no longer a boarding house. That's the name on the sign and Google now!
I saw my house
