I sense a little tribalism brewing in the comments section. This is how they divide and conquer us. Doesn’t matter where its from just grab your brother’s hand and dance to the rhythm.
Agreed as a people with many micro ethnicity within it we can no longer let those differences get in the way of the BIGGER PICTURE OR WE DESTINED FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF COLONIZATION . ANYONE pushing separation in detrimental ways is not of US
You cant's go wrong with African dance. it keeps evolving and getting ever more interesting. I was just marveling on the energy of those South of Africa when it comes to dancing...wow
We Ghanaians just love music and blast them non stop regardless of wherever it comes from and easily come up with dances for em. And most dance moves from Ghana comes from the GA people (Greater Accra Region of Ghana)
-Bhenga dance which was famous in the gqom days -Sjepa -Woza dance is actually called zekhethe -Pantsula dance style -Nayi le walk - Thuso phala -Amapiano is a whole genre with many dance styles or techniques e.g the pouncing cat which is really the first real dance to describe the amapiano movement. Then there other dances like Baleka, survivor, mlume, zekhethe, "shi shi" and various footwork usually freestyles by any dancer **note these are just some of the most Impactful dance moves from South Africa I can remember.
You forgot the Pantsula dance from South Africa. It was also used by Beyonce on Run the World (Girls) (Official Video). It is a popular dance which originated in the townships of South Africa.
I’m from Asia and I really think all dances are unique to our kind of dances and kind a telling me to dance with each shown dancer. Can you please please tell where or in which African country, I can learn all dance? I really want to learn them.
@@Arcange93iam correction everyone can attempt to move their waists but not everyone can do it well 😂 plus Congolese dancing isn’t only about moving your waist.
Most of the dance in west Africa come from Côte d'Ivoire you missed that. Also north Africa is Africa too. You focus on English speaking but French speaking has a lot of dance
Now the question starts. You have only covered the music of a few African countries, and you left out a huge chunk of the continent. What did a frog say about the size of the sky while sitting at the bottom of a pond?
Nice video, but try to do more research and make a more complete list. let me help you atleast with the ones from my country, hoping other countries also Dance steps from Cameroon 🇨🇲 : - Bensikin - La Maitresse - La Trompette - Folie de Kitoko - Miogo Miaga - Samali - Tranches d'annanas - FupFap - Mimbong - Ndjang - Pingis - Chakumalu - ........ Nice, always new, always fresh! No way to find that here in Europe 😁 can't decide which is best, though Ghana and south Africa seems to be highly creative. Thanks for also showing Jerusalema - great music, but better and cooler African dance versions are available than this basic non-African moves 😎
Of course. Africa has always had dances but Azonto from Ghana is the very first widely used international trend that continues to this day. But be careful saying that because there will be people who were or were not privy to this info and will attack you for saying so.
8:51 its actually 'zekhethe' not 'woza'. Amapiano is genre not dance style. you've missed 'pantsula' and 'thuso phala'
AWESOME! Thanks for pointing this out.
@@ohafro you also missed 'pouncing cat'
