    I think that was a wonderful shade of blue, anything to vibrant just doesn't look realistic, that looks like it may have once been brighter, but time has done it's thing and makes it feel more lived in and welcoming

      I'm so glad you liked the video! All the doors in my area have the locks over the handle, so I based it around that. I did google "front door" when I read your comment and I got results for both versions, so it seems to depend on where you live :) The good thing is that it's easy to swap places for the handle and lock on the project so you can customise it to your own liking. Yah! I thought you forgot about us. So glad you're back. This is a great tutorial. The instructions and your voice are very good. I'd love to see more frequent tutorials. Are you making the furniture pieces to fill a dollhouse? I mean you made a door, do you plan to attach it to a wall at some point? I actually like the color. You could always distress it to deepen the color or add gloss etc. But, it's a really pretty color.

      Thank you! I have a few new videos coming up in the next couple of weeks! At some point I would really like to build a dollhouse from scratch but I don't have the space for it at the moment. Now build one in HO scale. That would make the door about an inch tall. Then make a window with the panes and glass. Then build a house 2 inches tall, completely framed and sided and add the windows. See......Model railroading wooden structures. You might like this....it's fun.

    • @Craftish
      @Craftish  2 роки тому +1

      I personally would avoid doing that as you could damage the wood by either pulling up fragments of wood when you remove it or leave behind glue residue on the surface.

    Hello! I just found out about you and your amazing work! I have to do a project for uni and trying to find a cheaper option for my miniature windows and doors, I decided to use plywood, just like you did. My question is... how thin should I order my plywood.. can I do the same door using 3 mm birch wood ply?Thank you very much!

    • @Craftish
      @Craftish  3 роки тому

      Hi! I use Balsa wood in my projects (you could also use bass wood). I don't really work with plywood so I can't really give a lot of advise there, but from what i remember from working with it in wood-shop as a kid (😅) I remember it splintering a lot. So unfortunately its probably not something I would use based on what I remember from past experiences. But that could just be that they got really low quality stuff for a school wood-shop. If you decide to go for something else, balsa wood is cheap and easy to work with!

    What’s the point of your videos if you don’t give out measurements? I don’t find it very helpful that you are showing off and yet not really giving us actual information. Not subscribing to you!

    • @Craftish
      @Craftish  4 роки тому +3

      The point is to learn different techniques of how to do things. I have a disclaimer in the description box explaining why I don’t give out measurements. Most of my projects are based of of guessing the original size and scaling that down so I’m sure some of them are a bit off. So instead of giving out faulty measurements that people will spend time on recreating only to realize it might not fit, I just show the process. Sizes of doors and furniture may differ a bit from continent to continent or country to country, so if I give out measurements of a European door it may not fit your American dollhouse. Wouldn’t that just suck after spending all that time on it?

    • @nm9412
      @nm9412 4 роки тому

      Craftish how do you learn different when you hide the main information! You need to do honest videos, showing off with your knowledge is not helping to anyone. Your video would be more cohesive if you did step by step. Bringing us in the middle of your project is misleading us. Or don’t do any videos if you want to keep half of knowledge to yourself.

    • @Craftish
      @Craftish  4 роки тому +2

      Did you even read what I said? The measurements could be off. Do you want to make something that won’t fit your project? There are plenty of people who enjoy my videos and can still learn from them. If you don’t like my style of videos then feel free to watch another Chanel.
