    Wonderful Gita Mami...Amla is indeed a wonder fruit known best for its health benefits...I was wondering about the nellika thokku that my mother in law used to prepare for us during these wintry days...It used to taste divine with curd rice..Of course I tried it several times but it never tasted as good as hers...Thank you very much for reviving my fond memories ... Regards.

    Dear Ma'am Gita. I am from North India but have immense appreciation and taste for authentic South Indian food. I have consulted many UA-cam channels for South Indian recipes but was not very satisfied with the tutorial videos till I happen to by chance find your tube channel. My search for more channels is over as I find your recipes simple and easy to follow with detailed video of the recipe. Thank you so much. Warm regards and Best Wishes

    Mam, I am sure you may know this recipe too, this is a simple amla recipe usually prepared during rainy season in our grandma's home now in our home too is nallika thambli. when vegetables are scarce in the field and also prevents any waterborne sickness.
    It's amla, green chillies, salt ( as per taste ) geera, coconut and buttermilk, all ground to paste, slightly watery than the normal chutney no heating required with thadaka of Rai, udad dal,red chilli and kadipatha, hing is optional.
    Normally Karnataka Brahimin family never discard any thing of any vegetables and are made thambli or koddhel..
    Also thambli made of pomogranate skin, very healthy.

      Pratiksha Dholakia have u seen any difference in your hair ? I have heard that pwd amla tends to make hair dry n rough so not sure how to apply in hair

    • @pratikshadholakia5533
      @pratikshadholakia5533 3 роки тому +2

      @@kirannathani9123 Hello, Kiranji😊 Just add a few ( say 6to8) dried amlas alongwith shikakai pods ( about 10 pods) and reetha ( about 6 to 8) .Soak all of them together overnight. Next morning boil them well. Once a little cool, mash with your fingers, strain and use as a herbal shampoo.
      It's the reetha that makes the hair dry. So if you have dry hair add more shikakai and less reetha. Amlas should not cause dryness.
