    Dave,
    Made my inkle loom last night and have woven a strap out of brown and green jute. Really appreciate your videos. I pass on info to my cub scouts as well. Thanks.

    Dave,
    Nice finish! In the past when I did not want tassels, I just folded the end of the strap over and sewed it back to itself.

    I like this very much. I think the NEF single needs a strap. Thanks Dave. This is another helpful project. John.

    Thanks for finishing the project because I was really puzzled as to what was supposed to happen next. It's crystal clear now! Thanks!

    Thank you for clarifying how you made the heddle strings and how they are wrapped to the warp, I couldn't make it out in the previous video. Really enjoyed this weaving series, it's given me the urge to pull out and use my rigid heddle looms. :)

    When i was in Thailand with my gf in her small village, countryside ( not the touristic pataya and shitplaces everyone always thinks of when they hear thailand.) anyway, her grandmother was like a well know weaver in the area, silkweaver. The weaving installation was as big as 2 pick ups, nothing mechanical also. It looked incredibly difficult thousand threads

    I don't know why, but that struck my funny bone hard.

    I have watched a bunch of Dave's videos, and love them all. There are a hand full of phrases he says when something turns out different than what he expected....
    ...I want a sound track to carry around with me that is just his voice saying, "That's not a problem," or "That's no big deal." So when I mess stuff up I can just play that back and I can respond, "Thanks Dave."

      and when he's happy about something or know's if you try the method you'll be as happy as he is with the results- "like a donkey eat'n' briar's" or even "
      and of course when something tastes good, its "MaH-hynnn "gauGH-Leah" (tried to spell it how he say's it- no idea what the word actually is, he's the only one ive ever heard say it lol.)
      I'm not overly fond of strong accents, and i find it hard to take in what people are saying if they have a really overpowering accent, and i think Dave has one of the best american accents going, so easy to understand what he's saying and not focus on the twang- for that very reason.I find it so easy to listen to Dave's instructing and teachings over most other channels on UA-cam simply because of his narrations being easy to listen to, and I've also found myself being able to stick on a playlist from this channel and crack on with other things just as background noise because his voice is one of those calming voices that just flows- even when he's excited because he caught a fish or something (again with the ~ *GauGH-Leah* when he strikes his blue gills ha-ha.
      Because i have it on a playlist running through video's. I have even found myself attempting to say "this" in the same "thuis" way that Dave does if the last word in his sentence while I'm just randomly doing stuff; & tbh i didn't even notice i was doing it till the Wench pointed it out, now every time he finished his sentence with "thuis" it stands out so much, but it's probably one of the coolest pronunciations of such a simple word ive ever heard lol.

    the cut was unecessary, coz u could have pulled the length u didnt need through one side and u would have ended with on strap with the double length instead of two short ones...just saying

    • @DavidCanterbury
      @DavidCanterbury  10 років тому +2

      Leg ties are short so it would be cut twice either way, and the left over single piece would not be long enough for a single strap on anything-

    • @SICKYPOPP
      @SICKYPOPP 10 років тому

      okay. i was just thinking nooooo, dont cut it..all the fine works...;) but ur probably right, they would be too short for anything...
      great series anyway...love the loom..if i only had the space for such cool ideas..
      thx.
