When I was a freshman at IU in 1965, my roommate Rick Roth was a DJ at the Wright Quad radio station working the morning shift. Every day at 6 a.m., Rick had Barbara Ann programmed to play. We set our clock radio to 6 a.m. and woke up to this every day for our entire freshman year. I still listen to it, love it more now than ever.
Today, my daughter and I sang along to the song with fervor. My grandchildren, 3, 5 and 7 years old, liked it so much. It's amazing that they still like this music so much today.
My son was in a grade school talent show with a few of his buddies; they did “Barbara Anne”. Honestly they nailed it and got a standing ovation! One proud dad!
I watched a very good biography about those guys. Dennis Wilson was a friend of Charles Manson for a while and was trying to get him a recording job. Some people considered Dennis a part of Mansons cult. Dennis was into drugs and drinking real bad and was hooked on heroin. They’d have to drag him on stage when he was high. All of them drank so you’re probably right. Dennis died young. He drowned in California. 39 y/o
I don't know why, but my children as babies just loved the Beach boys, my oldest daughter, I would sooth her with Barbara And, and she could sing Kokomo word for word at one year old, now my Grandson, Barbara Ann his favorite song, if I put it on the stops what he is doing, bounces up and down in his walker and sings, it is fabulous, There is just something about the Beach Boys, I loved them as a child as well I was born in 1967, and my parents would listen to them, now 2017 and they are still a go to favorite , well in my family anyways Love the Beach Boys
I love the Beach Boys. I saw them when they just got started at Wendell"s Record store on Lakewood Blvd. In Downey Ca. They autographed Surfer Girl 45 records. They have a unique sound. No one can harmonize like them. They were awesome.♥️💋
This has to be the best Ad-Lib recording ever. These guys were just having fun on a break, and they produce a #1 song? How cool is that? That's one thang the Beatles never did.
Up until today I sang "Bah bah bah bah bah buhran" with absolutely no clue what it meant. This pretty much sums up how I also sing along to Fall Out Boy.
When I was in school I knew a girl named Barbara Ann. She was a good friend and we got along real well. She was fun to be around & she sure was pretty.
An all time Beach Boys classic. The 5 part harmony in this song is musical genius! I was forced to listen to this and the like as a little kid in the 1980's but I've no regrets. Incredible! ❤️❤️
She told me about her at a late night club with her dad She said the lead singer asked her to dance he asked "do you like The Beach Boys?" She said "idk I like the Beatles" then he said "I'm the lead singer of The Beach Boys" she said "oh my God I love your music" and the rest is history
Reminds me of Barbie, We went to the Gilroy garlic festival up north by Monterey Bay for the weekend and they had a group that played The Beach Boys hits we had a blast and dance like crazy had the best time ever. I really miss her a lot 💖

“Ba ba black sheep” 😆 I never noticed that until just now and I’ve been listening to this song for 50 years!!!
😂😅
Where?
95% of this- Barbara Ann
5% of this- You got me rocking and a rolling, rocking and a reeling
It's simply amazing that The Beach Boys are still able to sing & harmonize while all the members were completely drunk!
In fact, the band said they could never have performed Brian's difficult harmonies if they were under the influence of anything.
0:48 “ba ba black sheep” there’s always that one friend
yeah and his name was Dennis Wilson! LOL , I love this version, hearing them goofing off in the background lol

Apparently they were tipsy while recording this and used their wives as backup singers, which explains the laughing and impromptu lyrics 😂
