I want to love the mega Man games, ive tried all of them on the NES and SNES, I love run and gun platformers but ive embarrassingly never been able to beat a single boss on any stage of any game lol ive tried for a few hours over several games and I just suck at mega man games apparently. I enjoyed your thorough point of view.
X is like you said, being the first 16-bit Mega Man, Capcom delivered an excellent game, visuals, design and music are great. X2 and X3 are good, but serves as expansions, rather than proper sequels. X4 is similar to X in the sense it was when Capcom gave it a lot of attention, great visuals, soundtrack and smooth gameplay, playing as Zero is pure fun, and again, X5 and X6's budgets were way lower in comparison, they still serve as expansions, but are far from X4 overall quality. Have you tried the PSP remake, Maverick Hunter X, it expands the original X and adds Villain as a playable character after you beat the game. It's similar to X8 in the sense it's 3D, but plays just like the classic X, it's a well made remake. If you have never tried, you should play Mega Man 7, it's like Capcom took all features that made the NES games, 1 through 6, upgraded the visuals and delivered with 7.
i also don't get when people knock me for wanting save states or checkpoints. i mean, what am i proving replaying the level 50 times when the "challenge" that i'm struggling with is the boss? especially since before that last sigma battle you can 100% replenish everything, but still, as a kid i sucked at figuring boss patterns. yes i've beaten megamanX on everything it's been released for, but i refuse to play games that bring me back to the beginning or restart a stage thats super long. pokemon stadium is exactly what i'm referring to. AVOID POKEMON STADIUM
welcome back! loved this retrospective, so awesome, thanks !
Glad you’re back! Loved this game, and I remember repeatedly attempting that silly jump to get the Street Fighter fireball very well 😁
Welcome back!
Thanks. Now that I've recovered, I can get back to a regular release schedule.
@RetroGamingKnight i look forward to it! Your my favorite channel bc of the huge variety and good sense of humor.
