I like the optimism, definitely willing to give it a shot. Colorado this summer and figuring out travel plans for others. After Colorado, I think the next two challenging peaks I’ll prep for are Nevada and Idaho. I also want to do Whitney in CA but need to see if there is a way around the lottery.
@@GetmeouttahereErik yes, the new day hike permits are a pain. Idaho has that scary-looking Chicken-Out Ridge, but I suspect it's not as bad as it looks based on all the pictures and trip reports I've read. Good luck!
I moved out here from Texas two years ago and I share your enthusiasm brother! I cant get enough of walking around on those big rocks.
Like an alien world to me out here, loving every second of it. Way different than the midwest.
I think you can definitely do better than 40. AK, ID, MT, WY, WA, and OR are the only ones that are technical.
