I get the impression that the instructions for the rubber 'bottle opener' thing were warning you against using it with solvents because it's probably made of butylene and won't survive contact with them.
I like the concept, everybody has space for a bottle in his kitchen, and to be fair most of these gadgets worked well. Maybe if it was out of higher grade material most would work better. If it was Glass / Stainless Steel, /silicone for the jar opener,i would buy one.
I'm pretty sure the funnel is supposed to be used for powder, that was the spelling or word mistake, not power! 😆 I use the funnel to get my drink mixes into bottles! Put the small end into a water bottle and use protein powder at the large end to funnel it in!
I was literally facepalming when he missed the entire concept of a funnel and turned it into a bottle... A product made simple may not be simple in the hands of someone simple.
I've bought the official version of this from amazon as a gift and it was loved but there is no way I would support this one as it's ripping off someone else's design and I wouldn't trust the materials,

For checking the accuracy of a measuring cup you should really use a kitchen scale. One of the beautiful things about the metric system is that 100mL of water weighs exactly 100g. (Ok, technically that only applies at sea level at 4°C but the difference is quite miniscule.) You are correct that it is a very good idea to check the accuracy of measurement lines on new measuring cups.

I have had one of these for years. Not the greatest quality but actually functional. If you have limited storage the fact that they all stack can come in handy. Not dishwasher safe! The plastic will become "crazed" and crack.

As someone who works on a produce (fruit and veg) department training as a manager, don't break off ginger, this is how you expose the inside to bacterial and it goes mouldy which then spreads to other bits in the tray and causes huge amounts of waste. It's like an onion, the outside is dried to protect it, you wouldn't chop an onion in half in the shop would you?
I had the same trouble with measuring jugs too, turns out the glass Pyrex one I was using wasnt very accurate at all, possibly a printing error. Might be worth checking yours!
If you find ginger with nubs on it, you can usually make it sprout. Which means, if you have a garden with good soil, you can effectively start growing your own if you plant it in the late spring or early summer. It won't do well when it's colder, but if it's nice and warm in the spring, you won't need to buy the stuff until you run out of your home-grown stuff in the off-season.
Loved triturating. I learned the term in a lab many years ago for grinding drying molasses on sand when doing a moisture content. There was a certain point where it was friable (enjoy that word 😀), so we triturated it to break it up to ensure the moisture could escape. I learned the pronunciation as in tricycle, though.

Ah, the joys of translation... Twisted Translations shows the fun and mayhem of translating. 😁 I found chopsticks that the package was almost indecipherable in the English translation. I think the funnel should be placed inside something (small end) & another substance be poured in through the wide end thus funneling the substance through the small end into a cup, bottle, etc. I hope that makes sense 😂. Also, I believe As Seen On Tv is actually an open logo. It doesn't mean the product was actually on tv. A lot of companies sell under that name with no fee or trademark. I read that somewhere though I can't remember now where it was 🤦.

"Bin" means "bottle" in Japanese ("瓶").
I'm guessing it was in Japanese first and then translated into english, maybe that's why the instructions don't make sense.😂

I actually enjoy eating raw garlic. I put it on sandwiches to give them a little zing. But I would never do that with raw ginger. Nope!

Best ginger hack is to put ginger in a ziploc bag in the freezer and use a mini grinding plane to just "shave" the ginger into whatever you cook.
