Sad this channel didn't continue after this video - just rediscovered this vid while digging through the deep recesses of my UA-cam history and ended up watching the whole thing again. WP7.5 really shined in this video and you did a great job walking us through the OS. Hope all is well with you.
Just got mine in Matte Black today. This thing is sexy!!! No photos/videos ever did justice to how good it looks & feels. Superb build I should say. Reserve your judgment until you hold one is all I could say.
The Music, Photo and Contact Tiles look completely changes if you sync your contacts, music with album covers and photos. They become dinamically "amazing", showing a lot of information and images. That's the strenght of this system!
I used Windows Phone 7 for a while on the Focus, and I am deeply in love with the OS, now with such a sexy hardware I won't be able to resist. MicroNokia FTW Switching from HTC Sensation XE
I was thinking that too, but in a way I ended up liking that about the video, it showed how easy WP7 is for someone not too familiar with it. I think that shows how intuitive the UI is.
I have the Samsung Focus and WP 7.5 and it runs smooth, it's an old device already but it has no lag, no freezing, and the battery lasts for more than a day and a half. WP is a very good OS and apps like Pulse, Slacker, UA-cam (I like the pro version) and Skype (in beta) and since Nokia makes a great quality hardware then Lumia is a winner. I believe that the glass is Gorilla glass brand.
Also once you start customizing the home screen and downloading your favorite apps the whole phone starts coming together. I recommend downloading or following wpcentral.
About the screen..Nokia says: The Nokia Lumia 800′s AMOLED display is built using a Pen Tile matrix. This means that it uses fewer sub-pixels...with a greater quantity of greens. The Nokia Lumia 900′s 4.3-inch AMOLED display uses a different technology. Its sub-pixels are arranged like a normal LCD display, with one red, one green and one blue sub-pixel assigned to each pixel...And of course, both screens make full use of Nokia’s ClearBlack Display technology for excellent outdoor performance!
I have a Lumia 800. Must agree that the backside scratches suprisingly easily. I don't pity my phone at all, so that's one reason, dropped it 6 times and still working fine. The front side including screen is as it was when bought. Rear has some minor damage, nothing serious but not as stunning it used to be. I guess, when it's damaged enough i just switch to silicone case with some funky colours. Nokia case is so tight fit you can barely see it.
FYI if you download trials of many apps they will function as the free ad-supported version. "AppFlow" is a great app to keep track of how many apps are in the app store and to find some of the better apps.
Please go over camera and camcorder quality + any custom effects that can be done to pics...if you can do side by side comparison of a high end android and iPhone...notification light??? Battery life? Hows the app market selection so far? Is it suffice if someone was coming from android? Hows navigation so far compared to Google maps? Thanks
Thank you for the review. Wondering if you could give us a "long term review" after you have lived with the OS and phone for awhile? That would be very helpful.
windows phone is only just starting to get noticed in australia thanks to nokia advertising the lumia on tv and in electronics stores. those who say 'it's dead already' really need to step outside their bubble. When windows 8 is released, people will take more notice of wp7 due to its similarities, and see how owning one along with a Win8 laptop/desktop or tablet will make sense, like the iFlock use iphones to complement their macs. I hate to use the old cliche, but it's just getting started.
I wanna know what it's like switching from an iPhone as I'm going to to the same. I feel that apps have been holding me back but I'm ready for something new after owning 5 iPhones.
according to nokia's site, it doesn't come with the 900, but there is a proper case for it, just like the 800's. they don't say how much it costs though.
for the people wondering how he got it so early, he must be an AT&T employee! I mean, I can't think of any other explanation. he isn't a reviewer. Other than that, I can't wait to get mine on the 8th ! :)
Great video, really! However, to make it a little more smooth, review the phone w/o video first and make several notes to use during the main video review so that we get exactly what we should know in the best amount of time.
What apps are you looking for, that are essential to you having for everyday usage? Let us know, so we can guide you through the Marketplace or equivalents in the Marketplace. BTW, phone looks awesome, can't wait to get my hands on one, when it comes out!
Please example setting up the Bluetooth device with the Lumina 900 Windows 7 phone. I can't get it accomplished. The phone is searching for the device to pair with it but it's not 'finding' the device. Any suggestions?
Can you please tell what software version is available on this device? Since your Windows Phone Logo which comes at the boot up is Yellow instead of the normal red one with WindowsPhone 7.5 8107
Ya man works with gmail. WP7 phones are so great. I sold my iPhone 4 for a focus. Gained $200 and love my focus so much more. GET THIS PHONE! I want a lumia so bad!
I'm thinking of switching from Android cuz Android with dual and quad core processors is very laggy from time to time especially the g2x I'm sad I started using adriod with it idk wat to do wait for galaxy s3 or wait for wp8 and see wat it will bring
Bought Titan since I want to support the 'underdog' and boost competition in the market. After a week I returned it for an iPhone 4s. Why? 1. No forward button when surfing online. There is only a back button. 2. Volume control was sort of pre set to 8 levels or so. 3. Bad 'multitasking'. Of you open a new 'screen' then press back, you go back to the other screen and basically do not have 2 unique screens running anymore..annoying.
"ME tile...I guess it's just going to give you all the information about yourself". WRONG! haha. Made me chuckle. The ME tile allows you to post to social networks (FB, twitter, LinkedIn), see FB notifications, and see your FB news feed/twitter stuff without having to launch the dedicated apps. Dedicated apps are still available for those social networks, but the ME tile lets you use their core features as part of the phone instead of by launching an app.
Well with Android, only 2 phones run the latest OS as far as I know. The Galaxy Nexus (obviously) and the Galaxy S2. My sister has the Galaxy S (first one) and that took forever before it could get Froyo.
This phone does have a AMOLED screen. However, as a user from your video suggest, he is in fact WRONG. The Lumia 900 screen is in fact the same screen you would find on a Galaxy SII or a Focus S: a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus screen, but with a Nokia polorized film to make it better visible during the day. The Lumia 800 has a 3.7" Super AMOLED, same as Omnia W or Focus Flash, but with a polorizer. That's why they call it 'ClearBlack'. News flash: Nokia buys ALL there AMOLED screens from Samsung.

Not officially !!! It will sto at WP 7.8 !!! If you want WP 8 you have to buy a new handset or maybe you will be able to use a custom rom of some kind :)

MicroNokia FTW

Also show how the pinning of individual contacts to start screen works and tell people how live tiles work. Its one of the best features in WP7.
The OS is so fluid. I kinda dig it.

In browser settings you can set Website preference to "Desktop version" instead of mobile version if that is what you prefer.

awesome review, i'll be picking one up soon.
this phone is cool. would this be better or the samsung galaxy note?

Really good videos. Thank you for posting..

good job mate. can you compare browsing speed with the iphone or some android phones if you have them?
I wanna know what it's like switching from an iPhone as I'm going to to the same. I feel that apps have been holding me back but I'm ready for something new after owning 5 iPhones.
I have never given much thought to w7p but this thing is hot. I really think I'm making the switch.
how long should i charge my lumia 900 for the first couple of times, and are you using a protective screen? thanks
Looking forward to your review of call quality.
there is a jump key to go directly to the app you want for the applications.
nice demo...good job!!
Titan 2 gets released the same day.....which do you people think will be better. I think the Lumia 900 Looks great but the Titan 2 is tempting.
love this phone!
Solid review, hows battery life
Che Enrique podes mostrar la calidad de sonido del reproductor de música? Gracias, un saludo desde Argentina! Muy buenos vídeos!.
according to nokia's site, it doesn't come with the 900, but there is a proper case for it, just like the 800's. they don't say how much it costs though.
I like the UI. Just wish it had a great amount of content. If it did I wouldn't mind having it.

does it support traditional Chinese interface and input? could you check settings to find out. Thanks
Hi, can you please let us know if Nokia Music is included? I didn't spot it in the video under Nokia collections. Thanks!
This version of AT&T have NFC??
Because Nokia says that it does not have but Gsm Arena says that it has NFC
so is true or lie?
Im getting this phone by thursday of this week coming in on att plan lovin my new phone
Please example setting up the Bluetooth device with the Lumina 900 Windows 7 phone. I can't get it accomplished. The phone is searching for the device to pair with it but it's not 'finding' the device. Any suggestions?
I would like to know about day to day battery life, on LTE and off LTE
Is there an issue with call waiting? Could you explain to me what it means to be single/dual cord usage?
As far as the apps go I hold to the 50k rule. Once a marketplace hits 50,000 apps you're almost guaranteed to find what you're looking for.
I want a lumia so bad!
i feel this is the best designed phone!
windows phone whereas doesn't have a better interface than that of Android i guess. .
This looks awesome. I may have to dump my Blackberry for the Lumia 900. Anyone know what the off contract AT&T price will be?
Hi Enrique. Could you please post the version of the system? Does this include the latest update "8170"?? Thanks!!
yay so excited
I noticed it includes the "office" application..can you show how well office works on the phone please :))
What??? Free offline GPS?? this phone just got even more awesome!
I'm thinking of switching from Android cuz Android with dual and quad core processors is very laggy from time to time especially the g2x I'm sad I started using adriod with it idk wat to do wait for galaxy s3 or wait for wp8 and see wat it will bring
DO IT! I switched from Android a few months ago and I've never looked back.
WIFI tethering is installed already in Lumia 900. Check at 8:00 at settings the Internet Sharing Option :)

I this this is as close as we're gonna get to windows 8 on mobile devices. This still has the same Mango interface though! =)
When released in Japan?
can it support a different mail account I use gmail but love this phone
What typing languages are available on the lumia 900? It'd would be interesting to know!
where is your next video of the 900? It has been awhile.
@solowingzero this Eco system is also app dependent
Can the phone tether without extra charges ?

This phone is the only reason I would consider switching to AT&T.

you can most definitely get achievement points via the Xbox live titles in the game hub. Have fun with that, I know I do.
Titan 2 or Nokia lumia 900?????
people hub rocks!! great integration by MS...I can't use my iPod touch anymore....
can you set a wallpaper on it?
What is the sound quality music player?

@JustCommentOkay That sucks, my next phone will be a Nokia because they send out fixes very often. Once Apollo comes out I will switch to Nokia.
looks good .....
itreproduce 1080p videos?
how did you get this?!?!
that interface looks alot like the new Windoews 8
Windows Phone 7.5 is set to have full Skype integration if not already then in the next few weeks.
this vs iphone 4s?
I think WP will go the way of Palm OS in 2013
Not officially !!! It will sto at WP 7.8 !!!
If you want WP 8 you have to buy a new handset or maybe you will be able to use a custom rom of some kind :)
Sweet handset. If I had to jump the Android ship, I would go with WP7 waaaaaaaay before iOS lol
What about Viber ,Skype ?
Test the Browser ?
Tell us the difference between iPhone and Lumia 900
hv u got the reply for your question yet? bcz i wnna know aswell ^_^
