If you're oldere than 45, then you heard of Pete Maravich. Despite Caitlins accomplishments, Pete would have the NCAA scoring ALL TIME scoring championship if thay would iinclude his freshman year playing NCAA freshman ball since frosh were NOT ALLOWED to play varsity back then and if you took his shot charts (which exist) and charted them for 32-pointers (because that didn't exist either, and an LSU assisstant has done exactly that) thenhe would be in the lead over Caitlin by something like 1000 points. Then, in the NBA, until he got hurt (last five years of his career) he average 35-40 a game. Byrd knew then, and knows now, that if not for his injury issues, that Larry and Magic would have been swimming in Pete" wake until he retired. And the fact that he did it all with and unknown congenital heart defect (discovered in his autopsy) who knows what the limit would have been.

That is some awesome knowledge. I really didn't get into basketball until MJ. And that was the end of Larry and Magic's career. I had always heard of his dribbling ability, but never his scoring until this video. Larry and Pete would've walked all over every team at that time, with little to no issues. Thank God we now have some good medical procedures to keep these athletes today healthy as possible. The game too has evolved so much that if he was playing today he would still be as good. Thank you for sharing.....

@@DavidSearcy621 Dude died on a court playing pickup ball with a Pastor buddy. My favorite story was in a game his rookie year, against the Knicks I think, with Walt Frazier as PG, two different guys just walked off the court frustrated at a time out and said "You guard him" to no one, and everyone, on their bench. Sad thing is he never played on a decent team, even in college. HOF Coach Wooden with UCLA recounted one time LSU played them in Los Angeles and Press Maravich, Pete's dad and LSUs coach came over and was giggling and bouncing how the Bruins couldn't guard Pete and he had like 45-50, and coach Wooden said he just shook his hand and said nothing because UCLA had won the game by like 20.

Yeah. He predicted his death almost exactly. Yeah his dad forced him to play for LSU. Crazy story. Definitely one for the record books. Amazing skill and pure talent from some serious practice.

He was an innovator for sure. Definitely top 50. I'm more a fan of Jason Williams, Professor, and MJ fan. Thanks for being here. You are appreciated.

I agree with everything you said. No argument here. I will now say, The Innovator, of modern day basketball. His skill was unmatched and he is the inspiration for what we see today, No doubt. However, I wasn't a basketball guy until MJ showed up. Then I started taking it serious. I didn't learn about JWill until I was mostly done playing. But when I did play it was fun to imitate him, who imitated 'Pistol'.
I did look at a video of Bob Cousey. And I will be putting up some more reaction of some of my best players in the NBA, my time, before, and after.....Thank you. I just watched Magic and Larry, Courtship of Rivals....Should be out today.
Thank you for being here and any other recommendations are appreciated.

Byrd is the goat. But Pete was great. I grew up in 80's. I heard somewher that Byrd was disrespectful to him the last season.

By then Pete was crippled with knee injuries. That would've been a spectacular team
