Thanks for this video this is actually my first year of tackle football 🏈 I'm a short WR I'm in 8th grade this helps out so thanks again
No problem man, glad this could give you some value! I appreciate you watching
Bro! I’m literally the exact same are you my twin or something
@@BreadeyeProds Same here lmao

thank you for informing me, starting my very first season of football soon without ever practicing or anything, very passionate and determined but also in need to be in shape.
No problem at all man, really glad this could help! Let me know how the season goes
This is my first year of tackle football I am going into 7th grade and have played flag football for 5 years. This helps thank you
Awesome to hear man! Thank you so much for watching- i appreciate it
Oftentimes big hits are more jarring than painful. You’re on the ground before you know what happened. However, it does hurt more in cold weather.
Yessir no doubt!
Thanks man, really appreciate this stuff! Come to Seattle next time your doing camps too
No problem bro, will do- thank you for the support!. We will be there in 2025
Hey Coach, can you make a video specifically talking about how to move your feet in the pocket also talking about whether or not your feet should be choppy or gliding also with drills to help work on your overall footwork with these aspects for Qb’s
Yeah absolutely man, thank you for the idea! I appreciate it
Thank you so much for this advice! My mom always yells at me as a discipline thing, and I think that she might have saved me some pressure from yelling coaches😂
😂she definitely did it because she cares about you and wanted you to be ready
I’m in 7th grade and I’m absolutely brand new to the sport and everyone else has been playing since kindergarten and my first game is in 5 days and I’m very nervous
You will be fine! If you search up “first down training prepare for your first game” on UA-cam we have a video there that can help you
Thank you so much man. This will be helpful for my first tackle season.
No problem at all bro, really glad this could help! Thank you for watching
Hey, there, coach! I've commented in one of your videos in the past about playing QB and you recommended me a Slot Receiver position due to my height (174cm). I passed on the Tryout for my city's team in Brazil, João Pessoa Espectros, and I've been training as a 3rd String QB for now. My biggest problem is reading defense and choosing the best option (specially when I should run myself instead of handing off the ball). Can you make more videos about that? Thank you!
Will do man, thank you for the feedback! We have our reading defenses content on our website. Here is the info below

@@firstdowntraining thanks 🙏🏻
I already got team gear helmets fine and we get shoulder pads Monday and I have all the thigh pads kneed pas and stuff
Yessir goodluck this week!
@@firstdowntraining thanks
For QBs, peripheral vision is key. Look directly at the safety so they can’t make a read.
Yessir 🤝🤝
Hey coach, im pretty new to tackle football and my biggest issue as a WR is how much vision is restricted by the helmet. Is there any way I can get used to this by just practicing more or do I just need to deal with less vision?
I would say you will get used to it overtime- but also I would look into the facemask they use on the “Riddell Axiom” helmet. Gives you a lot more vision, I’m not sure the specific name but I’m sure you can find it if you google it
Hey Coach, I started football recently and am trying to become a quarterback. I came from playing baseball my entire life and this seems to be the cause for my sidearm type of throwing motion. If you could make a video about transitioning from a baseball throw to throwing a football that would make my journey a lot easier. Thanks Coach.
I love this idea, you can expect a video on that within the next week! Thank you for the support
@@firstdowntrainingThank you so much!
Good vid. Helps a lot
Appreciate you man, thank you for watching! Really glad it could help
I know this question is out of pocket but which high school football team where you in?
Hello coach, thank you for making these videos, I was wondering what position I should be, I’ve never tackle football but I play all the time with my friends. I am 5’9 144. Thank you
I would say slot receiver! Thanks for watching Bro, I appreciate it
On a new team so definitely thanks for the advice when it comes to coaches 👍
No problem at all man, glad this could help you! Really appreciate you watching
@@firstdowntraining yes sirrr. Been watching since 2020.
Fire video ngl this is my first year going into 8th grade, and im a lineman. What you recommend cleats wise for me?
Awesome to hear, glad this could help! I’d recommend the Nike Vapor edge cleats
@@firstdowntraining saw this too late 😔 I got the adizero chaos linemen cleats
hey coach, first year and im a freshman, we got weight room in the morning. cant lie im very nervous, im most likely going to be thrown at db, but im 5’9 134 i’ve never ever played an actual snap, i hope i can get better through your videos
You definitely will! Just stay up to date with the uploads- trust me, they will help a ton!
coach I bought you workout program for 150 the wr bundle and I want to lock in and focus on it, but I have summer practices and after them I get exhausted and cant even work on anything from the wr bundle but i cant just stop going to practiceses because im not gonna get any play time
Hey man, I would just hold off until the season ends! Then come back to it- you will have access to that program forever because you purchased it. I appreciate the support and you buying into our program. But focus on your practice right now
@@firstdowntraining Yeah thats what i was thinking thanks coach
What about if you have never have played football what to play next school year going into the 9th grade the JV coach what’s you to play wide receiver because your 6,3 in the eighth grade and have never play football
If you search up “first down training 1st year of tackle” on UA-cam we have some advice there!
Thank you so much for this video because this is my first year playing tackle fb and I was wondering would me being a good wrestling does that translate at all to football again thank you
No problem at all man, glad this could help!

Long Beach poly and bishop Gorman back to back??!? That’s nuts. One of our players just transferred to bishop Gorman
Then St. John Bosco & Mater Dei regular season😂 it was a wild time
@@firstdowntraining that’s crazy, what team did u play for?
Coach giving out gems
Appreciate you man, thank you for watching! Really appreciate the support
Im in 8th grade but I love football but don’t know if I want to join because I just feel like everyone is going to be better than me and I don’t want to be a bench warmer
Don’t worry about that man- everyone starts somewhere! I would join, you will regret it if you don’t at least give it a try
I’m wondering if i should play. I’m a tall freshman but have never played football before and don’t know many of the rules or what position i should play or anything i need to know about playing. I am also ok at catching but not great at it
Yeah I would absolutely play! I think it would be a great sport for you especially if you’re interested. You will learn the rules rather quickly too
0:43 breaks the rule of Ephesians 4:29 which says: Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
My son is 10. This will be his 2nd year of tackle. He played QB in flag this fall. He is interested in playing QB for his Tackle team. Do you recommend any physical training regiments?
I’ll send you one below that we offer that can help!

hi coach can you tell me how i can start catching way better like travis hunter. I look up to him a lot and it’s like i feel like i’ll never be as good as him catching wise. my friends also make fun of me for dropping a lot of passes. can you please tell me some tips that work very effectively
I’ll make a video, thank you as always for the feedback!
Once i start football this year i might show you my film
Sounds good bro, goodluck this year!
Thanks
Hey coach im a sophmore this next season first doing football not first doing sports though and i need help figuring out what postion to play so i can train early
What’s your height & weight?
5'7 ish and 125
@@firstdowntraining ?
My old coach used to say "I dont care if you make mistakes, just make different ones."
Coaches hate having to repeat things.
No doubt! Appreciate the insight, thank you for watching
Its gonna be pretty rough, since in my country its not so popular, its hard to get enough players,so its just 12 year old against 16 year olds lmao
Damn, that’s a huge age gap 😂
@@firstdowntraining yeah gladly in game it’s a little different, not much tho
Hey coach, I am a 5,11 150 freshman, what position should I play?
Would definitely say outside WR
@@firstdowntraining The only thing is that I only have like a 7.5/10 speed
Good wr contact drills?
If you search up “first down training how to catch while getting hit” on UA-cam we have some there!
how do you buy a helmet with your school or teams logo on it
The school usually will provide the logo. So you just have to get the color that they want
@@firstdowntraining thank you so much going into my freshman year 5'9 WR with 2 years of experience im also a track athlete
