I went there today and can say the pictures and films do it absolutely no justice - the great forest is so much taller than it looks and the colours through the windows are other-worldly. Best basilica ever seen.
Such a wonder of human engineering and nature coming together.
I never imagined it looked like this inside, the colours are amazing. Now I want to live in such a kaleidoscope!

I say it again in English: Some things have been stuffed into this beautiful building that destroy the beautiful architecture. All these things above and around the cross: Horrible! Gaudì wolud scream!
Zum Teil hat man in diesen wunderschönen Bau Dinge hineingestopft, die wie eine Faust auf's Auge passen. All diese Sachen über und ums Kreuz herum: Grauenhaft!
Both a marvel and waste.
Art is never a waste. Look at the Soviet Union's soul sucking architecture as an example for what happens when no pride goes into architecture
Look at the average apartment complex today and call the La Sagrada Familia a waste.
Why waste? It is funded by tourism ticket, and personal donations.. and all the money will go to architect, scluptor, mason, miner, etc etc.
