We spent five weeks in Barcelona from November to January. It was AMAZING. Christmas, empty museums, churches, beaches. Enough of a vibe in restaurants but you could always get a table. Best time of the year. Highly recommend it!!!
I visited the hospital de sant pau last year in october and it was great! No waiting line, not overcrowded of course and so many opportunities for great pictures. Must see!
Loved my late-March trip to Barcelona. Cool mornings & evenings, mild afternoons. Walked all day in comfort with only a light jacket.
Siendo barcelonés y trabajando como guía, me encantan tus vídeos y siempre aprendo tanto de tu punto de vista como a nivel idiomático. Tienen algo diferente que los hace muy agradables y útiles en muchos sentidos. Enhorabuena
Gracias Álvar!
this guy is so underrated. when i saw that he doesn't have 100k views on each video i was chocked. the quality is there so i dont get why not. maybe it is because its only about a singular city but still
Appreciate the support!
Paella is good, but check out fideuà too! It's made of noodles instead of rice. It's harder for solo travellers to find a place that serves paella/fideuà for practical concerns (size of the pan!), but some places like La Paella de Su Diagonal do offer paella for one person. Xiringuito Escribà also offers one only if they are not busy.
I signed up for a paella cooking class by Barcelona Cooking in advance, so I got the paella part covered even before flying to Europe.
La Hospital de Sant Pau I didn't have time to do, maybe next time.
you keep up the good work patrick! ill be there in august!
Very useful info, will save a lot of disappointment when people arrive in august everything is closed and it is roasting!
🥵
Hi Patrick! Another great video for people coming to Barcelona! I am always giving my friends referrals to your videos before they come to Barcelona and/or Spain and they are becoming great fans of your too! Thank you!
Aww! Thanks Barbara!
So interesting! Thanks for the video!
Appreciate it!
We are leaving to Barcelona on Wednesday and your videos are awesome!
Thank you!!
I remember all of your videos about the SF and telling people about buying tickets before you come because they do not sell at the door. We bought before we left Australia and also booked the early times and what a great choice that was! We got there super early so we could walk around the outside and take pictures before the masses arrived. We saw lot and lots of people asking the security guys where the line was for tickets. We just shook our heads and wished they knew about your video prior to their arrival! Thanks for the SF tips!
You’re welcome!
We had a lot packed in on our trip but missed the La Hospital de Sant Pau so will have to go on you next trip because your video on that alone was amazing!
For the next one!
Thank you for the useful information! 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
i went to this hospital by accident and spent 3 hours there!! such a gem
Amazing place
People always miss out on Santa Maria del Pi!!!!! Great as always amic. Buy you a vermouth either in Sant Cugat or Gothic?
Great heads up
Thank you 👍
Gracias 😊😊
Thanks For the Video my G
I’m coming for the second year in a row in august, because I love the heat haha and also for the Gracia festival!
🔥🔥
Thank you for the amazing tips! And thank you for the food guide. It is a tad outdated though ;)
Excellent I'm going in September.
Watching this whilst in Barcelona in August. Haha
Enjoy
Thanks for the tips , very helpful. I have question about where to store my luggage, we will arrive to BCN airport in the morning and our cruise will depart at 4:00 pm . Is there a place we can store our luggage to be able to take a tour freely. Thanks
There are lockers right next to Plaça de Catalunya that you can use. Should be the first thing that comes up if you look up lockers or taquillas barcelona Plaça Catalunya
How about july? We going there next week
Hi Patrick great video with a summary of key items to avoid. Ramón and Zoe
Thanks guys!
Hi Patrick, I'm planning to visit Bcn in July and I want to book tickets for La Sagrada Familia in advance. Would you recommend booking tickets for the Passion Tower at 7 pm? Since the sun sets at that side of the Passion Tower, I think the view would be better, right?
The sun would be setting on that side, yes. I always recommend the Nativity Towet because it’s the towers Gaudi worked on
And don’t miss Casa Vicens!!!!! The most beautiful of the famous casas in my opinion. The Hospital is absolutely beautiful.
That’s a great one too!
We’ll be there in early December and I’m torn between doing La Sagrada first thing in the morning or later afternoon for the light through the windows. How late is okay in early December. Recommendations for time of day at that time of year?
I’d have a look at when the sun sets and try to do it a couple hours earlier. That usually coincides with opening hours as well. In December maybe 3:30
Some great tips here, especially the Sant Pau. My tip would be avoid wearing a Real Madrid shirt unless you want some dirty looks :D
Hahaha
So we are renting a car for a day for ferrari land and port adventur, but we are staying in barcelone, where would you suggest we find parking overnight in barcelona as we leave for the airport the next morning, where ill return the rental.
There are plenty of saba parking lots all around
How about July weather? Is it better than August in hot and humidity or it’s about the same. We are planning to travel first week of July. Thank you
July is hot as well. Not as hot as august though
What if you go to Sagrada Familia for Aunday Mass. do you need a ticket?
Doesn’t look like you can book ahead. But you need to be there very early
Will Sagrada Familia be free for visits on Sundays for August?
Free?
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona yes, the Sunday Mass?
@romaburmaan9374 they still have mass on Sundays in august, yes. You can find all of the info on the website
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona Ok, thank you so much. I have watched so many of your videos today and they are incredibly helpful. They will definitely come in handy next week :)
We already book in Aug.
👍🏼
Mate, I'm coming exactly at 19-24 of August to Barcelona 😅 Unfortunately it's just the only time i can go to a vacation, so... I Trapped 😅
Haha. I’m sure you’ll be fine
Visca el Barça!!!
August is very humidity, but not only in barcelona, in all the mediterranean area including all the mediterranean spanish coasr, the islands, Blue coast in France, Italy, Greece ... But the best is not from Novermber to March. This is winter babe, and the temperature can be between 2 or 5 celsius degrees. In august all Spainish people we have vacancies, but its not true the restaurants are closed. I lve in the city babe. Barcelona is prepare for the tourist people and all the center is open, their cacancies are in January.
OF course if you go to the residential part in the city, we are out.
Catalan of course is not a dialect, is more ancient than spanish, is the secong ancient language in the Iberic Peninsula. But you don't need to know catalan, his is Spain and averybody speak spanish everywhere. Spanish is the most modern language and have around 1.500 old years and the official language for everybody. The other languages was started centuries before.
Its like in Italy, there's more than 7 different languages but the language from Florence is what we call Italian, the official language for all the country.
Yes, the city is BARNA or BCN, Barça is the football club of the city. We understand english tourist you do not distinguish this things specially from USA. It is a lack of basic culture.
Next - If u want to eat the worsts paellas, goes to the Menu of the day hahahaha. The price marks the difference
Nice
nice
Nice men
I’ll pretend my honeymoon isn’t booked for August 🙈
Haha! I’m sure you’ll be fine
Piece of advice don’t go inside la Sagrada familia and park guell, or park guell maybe if you have kids. It’s such a waste of money instead of that money get some paella
Piece of advice, go to Valencia for paella, don’t order it in Barcelona 😅
@@petek5523 piece of advice don’t say that in Barcelona or … 🤣
@@andrewmandrivnyk 😂
Inside la Sagrada Familia was beautiful! The light coming through the stained glass! It was amazing! As well as the fantastic architecture! Definitely not a waste, get there early before the crowds, we went in with the first group and got in when it was pretty empty and got some great views and pictures.
Bad advice. Hope nobody’s it. There are the 2 iconic places.
