Would have loved to get your reaction on Bjorn's decision to banish White Hair and the rest of Ivar's guard. Even Alfred killed the nobles that conspired against him without hesitation but Bjorn wanted to make a point about who he is but it's definitely a huge risk leaving such dangerous people alive - White Hair also killed Magnus, who Bjorn accepted and considered a brother, though Bjorn doesn't know that obviously. Ragnar told Bjorn to think with his head and not with his heart, but it's really difficult for someone as emotional and sensitive as Bjorn to do that, he's not like Ragnar in that regard. Like Ivar told Heahmund, he's a great warrior but he's not very smart. They mentioned the Rus Vikings several times in previous seasons, check out my comment on your 5x05 Part 2 reaction video where I explained the background with the Rus Vikings in detail. Yes, they are descended from the Vikings that raided east, before Ragnar took them west, as we saw in the very first scene of the series in episode 1 with Ragnar and Rollo raiding in the east lands. Russia does not exist yet, the Vikings that went east conquered the local Slavs and created the Kievan Empire or Kievan Rus and became known as the Rus Vikings. The modern day countries of Russia and Belarus are both named after them. See my comment in that video for more details. The uncensored version was a lot more graphic in that tree execution scene, you saw his arm being torn apart as the tree catapulted the body. There was a deleted scene in 5x20 where Ubbe first brings up the story about the golden land and that he wants to search for it, so he's been planning this since England. You can really start to feel Lagertha's age now, she's slower, she's got a permanent limp from her injury in 5x15, she's got lots of scars, she's getting pretty wrinkled... almost all of her peers are dead, she's got a great character arc and story. It's interesting how many of the major characters like her, Harald, and Floki each represent truly being Viking in various different ways.
Bjorn letting them go definitely felt like a potential mistake, considering how we've seen people be spared before, only to come back for revenge D: it sure isn't easy to be king
