Ok, so I plugged the $20 charger into my $80 laptop brick with a $20 Thunderbolt 3 cable, and was able to select 2A in bay 1 and 4 simultaneously on two separate 21700s. So that works, but I question if it’s “worth it.” Meaning, charger ($20) cable and PD3.0 brick are going to be at least $20 more… the MiBoxer C4-12 comes with a dedicated power supply and 2A in all 4 bays, plus temp sensors, and the ability to run off a car battery in an emergency (with proper hook up). Just talking out loud… carry on!
Loving this charger review. For my vape habit, I have been charging my batteries with an xtar dragon and a secondary xtar charger. The great part about my latest charger is the standby charge for when you are letting your batteries sit for a time.
@@cheule Thank you for the extra info, it was a deal breaker for me. If you're like me and already have PD capable chargers and power banks laying around for daily use I much prefer that over mains for a small charger like this. 2 * 2A covers most of my daily use. I agree with you though, if you had to get a dedicated PD charger for which you had no other use it doesn't make much sense.
I just received mine and its behaving very strange. Voltage reading while charging is way off (display shows about +0.2-0.3V) and voltage at the cell is fluctuating wildly. It sort of catches up with the displayed voltage later on in the charge cycle but never really terminates. Stops at about 4.10V cell voltage while display is fluctuating between 4.15 and 4.20V and never indicates a full charge. Possible that mine is a dud but I don't trust this thing at all.
It definitely sounds like a bad unit. I have this Astrolux version and two of the same exact unit but with EBL branding. They all behave fine. but! I did have one that was great until it died. It was EBL branded. Complete failed. They replaced it no questions asked (but perhaps I have pull as a reviewer.)
They’re the same as all the other chargers, yes. You have to buy one end in and then make sure the nub is touching the button. It’s not that bad though, is it?
Hello: Can the download feature be activated in any of the four slots? Or only in slot number 4? That is, can I have 4 batteries discharging at the same time?
i do hate visual meters. I need number data for things like this!
I completely agree. The XTAR VC4+ irritates me
Have you checked that this will do PD from a USB C source? I understand you want to review it as is but it's super useful info
Hang tight. I’ll do a check.

Thanks for the video! The EBL comes with two cables did yours?

Are AAA/10440 batteries difficult to line up, like all the chargers I've previously tried?

Thanks. I've been toying with the idea of putting some sort of tubing around them to make it easier.
Xtar VC4 Plus is fine?!? Could it be you never tried to charge NiMH? I have the VC4SL and it´s the worst charger for NiMH you can get.
I do primarily charge li-ion. I use my SkyRC for Eneloops.
@@cheule I think every other charger is better for NiMH than most Xtars :)

A little off topic but, what soda can flood light would you recommend?
My favorite right now if the Meteor M44 by Hank Wang. You can hand pick the emitters, and it’s fully regulated.
Hi. What is the smallest charging current that can be set for NIMH AAA?
0.3A or 300mA is what I recommend.
@@cheule Yes, but can you set the charging current on this charger? What are available?
Hi. Can it test the internal resistance ?.
When charging a battery, before current is applied, IR (internal resistance) is tested and reported in ohms.
Great, thanks for the quick answer !.@@cheule
