Great video - very clear and concise. Couple of suggestions when working with UPS batteries: 1) remove jewelry 2) insulate the shaft of your screwdriver with some heat shrink tubing Accidentally arcing across terminals could result in serious injury.
Thank you. A friend of my brought me 4x of these packs a company was going to pay someone else to take. I have been successful in recovering a lot of still good batteries taking them instead and figuring out the good and scrapping the bad ones. There was no information on the outside of them but looking through the vent holes I could see there was 8 batteries inside. Initially I guess it was 8 x 6v so a 48v pack. But then using the multimeter I saw 90ishv and realized it was probably 8x 12v instead. I later thought it was possible it could be 16x 6v instead if rotated 90 degrees and silm ones but I figured probably not. This video confirmed my second guess and allowed me to take a peak in myself. If any are still good it is an excellent find!
I have the same pack battery and i have onpen too this pack because 4 battery is always low. But i don’t understand what is the frist junction betwen second and third battery
thank you for your support :) I've one question, is it necessary to put the ups on horizontal side as I think the batteries are not on the horizontal side when the ups on that position
It would have to be in a parallel and then series connection style, but yes you can make it work. We also have a solution for a simplified setup available - a pair of 12V 20AH AGM batteries that can be wired in series to get you where you need to be. www.techbatterysolutions.com/24-volt-20ah-electric-scooter-agm-battery-replacement-kit/
I ask because I have a couple of these (16 total HR1221) from a UPS that was decommissioned. I know I'd have to do a combo of series to up the voltage to 24v (pairing two) then running those pairs in parallel to up Ah and capacity. I don't know if I could fit more than 6-8 so I'm looking at making a 15-20Ah pack.
I would not recommend them for us on an off-grid system. The batteries in this unit are pretty small in terms of capacity, and it would be much more cost-efficient to purchase larger individual 12V deep cycle batteries.
Hello from Egypt, I've apc rt 5000 ups and I stored it for over a year without using it at all as before that the led for changing battery was on so, now the ups is not working at all (totally dead) even when i plug it into power. and I measured the output voltage of the 2 battery racks together and gives me 88 volt dc, please advise.
I would recommend reaching out to APC for this question. I do not know if the APC unit will still turn on given that the batteries are so low in voltage, to me it would make sense that the unit would - but I would get confirmation from the company that built it.
I decided to buy 12 batteries and thanks God it is working now with 180 v dc however the led for battry is flashing. Do you think I need to change remaining 4 batteries? And what I can do if the problem still exist after changing the 4 batteries. Please advise
@@HighTechBatterySolutionsInc Much appreciated! I was able to basically pluck and chuck without trying to get power cut off to the facility. Fortunately, all battery trays were good and didn't need replacements despite the fact that the APC UPS models are older. Thanks again for your help and the video.

Number 2 happened to me. The screwdriver shorted the terminals instantly burning my hand. It heats up faster than I can let it go. That fast.

THANK YOU BRO....
Thank you for the video!

you must update new battery date on ups with telnet connection
Explain please
thank you for your support :)
I've one question, is it necessary to put the ups on horizontal side as I think the batteries are not on the horizontal side when the ups on that position
After replacing all batteries, there is an error "replace all rbc" ? What is the problem ?
did you fix it?
nice, many thx
bro has rings in both hands working with DC
Rings on both hands are for legends
Could I technically wire these batteries in pairs to make a replacement for a 24v rideable? 8 x 12v at 5ah should give me 24v 20ah, correct?

G'day mate do you know if I can put theas to use for a of grid batteries any help you can give is a great help thanks

Thanks, when replacement the battery ..Do you ned to the reprogramable or not??
Typically not, we have not had any customers report any issues requiring a reset of the UPS system.

@@MohamedMostafa-wn8pe Yes, you need to change the remaining 4 batteries, that should turn off the battery light.
@@HighTechBatterySolutionsInc I just changed the remaining 4 batteries and it is working perfectly.
Thanks!
What are the spacers used for?
The spacers are used to separate each row of batteries for each other to help disperse heat buildup in the pack.
So this runs off 96v battery
Each cartridge is 96V
Can these batteries be hot-swapped?
Yes, most of the larger APC RBC cartridges are hot-swappable.

So this says it is 208 volt can you change it to 240 volt and is that ok for the unit or is it bad for the unit?
Bad for the unit, the charging system and the built-in inverter on the unit is set up to operate at a specific voltage.
Hi , Just wanted to know Are these packs in series or parallel inside the RT5000?
I apologize, I'm not 100% sure on that
Hi, how many module consist in one RBC44 ? And how many module consist in one SET. Pls tell me
Hello, there are two physical cartridges that make up the RBC44.
High-Tech Battery Solutions, Inc ; thanks for your reply, can u pls confirm also how many batteries consist in one cartridge. Pls
@@deepabharti1088 Each cartridge will have a total of 8 batteries.
