I am Bhutanese Hindu. We are denied citizenship ID of Bhutan Despite living in Bhutan for centuries. My grandfather had citizenship id but ours was taken away by the king and officers so that we can't vote and influence.

I served in Bhutan from 1987 to 1999 and stayed in Phuentsholing and Pasakha. Very beautiful country and beautiful people. In my time there was not very restriction between Phuentsholing and Jaigaon
People could easily cross the border any time between 6 am to 9 pm. But now I understand the lot of restrictions is imposed for crossing the border. Our humble request to Bhutan government to look into this and make life easier for both the country's people.

As An Indian, I say that Indians do not interfere with Bhutanese uniqueness and culture and We should keep love and respect for them. Bhutan is one of a kind. I love that. It should live long. It may be weak in money. But it is enough developed in terms of happiness. We(Indians) have a lot to learn from them and are grateful that such an inspiring community exists closely. Bhutan govt vs people of Nepal who migrated to Bhutan centuries ago had a very dark and ugly experience. Bhutan used them as laborers to build the country roads and buildings but when the government felt the number was high to threat Bhutanese culture, they used forces to remove these Nepali communities out of the country which saw violence and murders mainly in the southern part of the country. Lakha of people were removed from the country as refugees and they took temporary shelter in Nepal. Later developed countries took most of them as labour force. Today limited Nepali people live in Bhutan who are citizen of Bhutan. Most of the Bhutanese people understand Nepali and speak the language well.
In 2019 when Maharashtra bikers stood on top of sacred Chorten(Stupa) at Dochula pass and disrespect the culture and reglion of Bhutan , govt decided to increase SDF (now 1200 INR per head per day) , compulsory tourist guide (1500-2000 per day), entry fee to any monastery is between 1000 to 2000 INR, entry fee to any Dzong(fort) is between 1000-2000 INR, if you take your own car then road tax is 4250 INR per day. You can't stay below 3 star hotel. These are the changes Bhutan brought in Sept 2022 to control the tourist flow and expecting "quality over quantity". I don't how long this strategy will work because tourism is Bhutan key source of income and mainly Indian tourists visit Bhutan. Hope Govt will reconsider these fees and decrease to a reasonable amount which will be win-win for both the parties.
Bhutan is a beautiful clean and clear country and has lovely people living there. One should have this in his/her bucket list.

I think if Bhutan wants to retain its ethnicity then there is nothing wrong in it. Their population is very small and if allowed then ethnicity wise Bhutan will become just like India... Bhutan don't share it's boarder with Nepal but Bhutan is mini Nepal.. must of Bhutanese follow Nepali culture., speak Nepali language..the song they were singing in this video was all Nepali song.. they also wears Nepali traditional dress..,, Even after sharing it's boarder with India ,, Bhutan don't follow Indian tradition, don't speak in Hindi but Bhutan follow Nepali culture, speaks Nepali!! As a Nepali I'm feeling good to see Nepali cultural influence in Bhutan!
