The second half of this piece starting at 2:00 is pure awesome, and is always a joy to listen to when I'm kicking ass in Westmarch's big events, including the Bound By Blood and Templar's Reckoning sidequests.
This expansion pack redeems Diablo III, imo. 1. Great OST, as in, holy shit, this is a movie-quality soundtrack which makes it look-er, should I say "sound" like blizzard actually cared. 2. Malthael's introduction to the game was just awesome as hell. Done so much better than Diablo. Doesn't say a single word throughout the trailer other than his one liner of, "No-one can stop death". 3. Malthael has a perfectly relatable and justified motive as we find out in the game and via books, which means that he's more or less an anti-hero 4. The campaign for this expansion is way fucking better than Diablo III in my opinion.
I couldn't agree with you more. Also, its music is a lot more memorable-- I was in the Plague Sewers (?) and the music started booming, and it was the first time in the whole game that I truly felt the depth of the quest the Nephalem undertook. Mind you, this was during an optional dungeon XD I just wish it was the same way for all other parts of the game :
Imagine needing an DLC to make a game better. If the base game without DLC wasn't good to begin with, then it's technically not good even with the DLC since it adds a story but does not improve the base game at all. Cause a DLC was good, does not automatically mean the entire good is good (this is my impression)
@@captainflowers748 It made tons of improvements and changes to the base game, improved XP system, a new class, new items, improvements to crafting, bonus XP wells, new abilities, improved kill streaks bonuses as well as various kill and destruction bonuses. Almost all of these were to improve the pace of the gameplay and character leveling to be less of a slog, so say it makes no improvements is flat out wrong.
While everyone like 2:00 - 3:00 part, my personal favourite is 3:40 - 4:11. This is sound of inevitability. Sound of absolute power. Sound of death itself coming for you.
Hardly. It restored his memories, without which we'd have been stuck in Tristram with no direction or goal, meaning Belial and Azomodan are left unopposed. Just because it can't harm ONE being doesn't mean its useless.
In my opinion, the soundtrack to Diablo 3 can become quite an ear-sore once you've played it often enough. So to remedy that, I got some Classical Music selections for you guys to play along with this game. Please note that most of these tracks are protected by the Berne Act, those that may not are marked with " ** ". HERO THEMES: 1. Tyrael Theme - "Jupitor, Bringer of Jollity" (Holst) 2. Barbarian Theme - "Ride of the Valkyries" (Wagner) 3. Crusader Theme - "William Tell Overture Finale" (Rossini) 4. Demon Hunter Theme - "Hoedown" (Copland) 5. Monk Theme - "Sabre Dance" (Khachaturian) 6. Necromancer - "Tales from the Crypt" (Elfman)** 7. Wizard - "Sorcerer's Apprentice" (Dukas) 8. Witch Doctor - "Sing Sing Sing" (Goodman)** ACT THEMES: 1. New Tristram - "Danse Macabre" (Saint-Saens) 2. Caldeum - "Marche Slave" (Tchaikovsky) 3. Bastians's Keep - "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" (Gould) 4. High Heavens - "Mars, Bringer of War" (Holst) 5. Westmarch - "Dream of a Witch's Sabbath" (Berlioz) BOSS THEMES: 1. Skeleton King - "In the Hall of the Mountain King" (Grieg) 2. Belial - "William Tell Overture: Storm" (Rossini) 3. Asmodan - "O Fortuna" (Orff) 4. Diablo - "Night on Bald Mountain" (Mussorgsky) 5. Malthael - "Toccata en Fugue in D Minor" (Bach)
x 0.5 is interesting too , different feeling, the epic part become a solemn march. If you are in a very bad mood don't listen the last part at x0.5 speed.
2:38-3:00 watching that Horadrim"s face age until it was a skull as Malthael took his soul is literally the best cutscene in Diablo 3
I literally can't hear that part of the song without hearing that Horadrim's scream too.
Wait that was horadrim??
Felt so sorry for him.
No its his spirit drowning, reaching his hand for assistance and drifting from the '' water''
The one second he thinks he is going to be alright
Go GO! Find the nephalem
+deadlydeathify No one can stop Death..
Nephalem: Ehm.........
XD

Or grifts
The intro is so damn epic, and the part 2:00 to 3:00 is a masterpiece

Heroes! We have summoned an Arcane Punisher from the depths!
Hahaaa, that's a HotS line, cheeky.
This is art.

Plus it semi brought back the gothic horror look to diablo

2:18 - 2:37 omg
The part from about 2:00 sounds so awesome in game
Especially when surrounded by mobs and absolutely demolishing your way through hordes of them

Jafdet Agreed
same

I concur. Does it exists as a different ost as well?
The sound of foreboding doom. Would genuinely listen to an entire playlist of similar sounding songs
Even to this day, as soon as that bell tolls ever hair on my body stands up
1:58 - PURE Masterpiece
Diablo...was defeated and for a time, it seemed...we would know peace...
but....it was not yet ment to be.....
Tweny 8 For Diablo's essence lingers in the black soulstone...
I can not destroy the stone.........nor allow its evil to remain within the Heavens...
Tweny 8 and so it must be hidden....even from the angels...
I pray...it will be...enough...
What's happening to my skin? Why do I have goose bumps ? Fucking Diablo !!!!!
2:18 "Go! Go! find the Nephalem!"
Them goosebumps.
That sword we spent all of that time gathering the one Cain reconstructed with his last breath useless.
Atleast is good for opening Gates lol
FederalAgeTN Very true.

Epic. Nuff said.
Welcome to Oblivion, where in death, you find peace.
Hexnus There Is only peace in death!
02:01 Is one good alarm.
2:01 this should be the song that plays if diablo is ever announced for smash ultimate
Tyreal, and diablo for smash ultimate!
Maybe Malthael?
@@archmagekaer4306 I agree, this is Malthael's intro after all

Is this the only track where the part between 2:00 and 3:00 plays? Or is there a track exclusive for that?
+Thiago Monteiro ua-cam.com/video/Z24dnDkYbBU/v-deo.html
..the 2:38 to 3:00 part hears like from an Italo-Western movie :)
Stranded in Death Italo western movies? Does such a thing exist?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaghetti_Western ... it 's "Italowestern" in German
Ost는 진짜 블리자드답다.
Ost만..

2:00 - 2:16 Mm.... delicious
The strings at 0:14 is when Im convinced Blizz finally remembered the diablo vibe. But gameplay wise, it's still shit

음악하나하나가 아우~
such a shame the game itself isn't even close to how epic the soundtrack sounds..
Speak for yourself. There is quite a number of people including me who enjoy this game.
Marphey yes

A shame the base game wasn't as good and dark as this expansion. It was too little and too late.
