3 things... 1) I want to start by saying that I love your videos. 2) don't you start your nuts and bolts by hand first to avoid stripping them? 3) would it be possible to say how much the parts or kits cost, maybe an estimate. I live in Mexico and I know I can probably look it up online but I guess it would be one more reason to watch your videos. Also I don't mean like a cost for every single thing, just for like the bigger kits.
You at this point should stop saying youre mechanically incompetent. Learn by doing, and Over the years I have watched you tackle and perform some quite technical operations and not just on one vehicle. You have come a long way my friend.
It’s his attitude that has got him to where he is today. And it’s that same attitude that’s going to keep him learning more and more. Surprised you don’t recognize that.
He has done a lot, but very little of it he has done the correct or best way. For example using a rattle gun to tighten suspension bolts. I'm not knocking him but he's being pretty honest to say he's mechanically incompetent.
I was thinking the same thing when he said that. I don't think he was joking. Maybe because he has never had it bolted down to notice it. Idk funny either way
Frank Williams probably. What I was trying to say was that there are so many people that don't like the -ium jokes. They'll be like 6 people telling you to stop
You can tell Nicole was stoked to drive that nice Miata! Adam better get ready to overhaul her Miata. I think watching Nicole's Miata build would be fun and she deserves having her own project car. She supports Adam in all the stuff he does, and enjoys it too!
Watching them hammer down on nut/bolt/hardware IS always painful to say the least. I was on the edge of the toilet seat lol !!! I really enjoy the content though! keep up the good work ADAM!
It's fun content to watch, but that impact gun makes me cringe every time he uses it. Tighter is only better with some things... nuts and bolts it is not.
If it's a high end rattle gun, it will be torque limited when tightening, effectively meaning if anything the bolts won't be tight enough. But regardless he needs to learn that an impact wrench is primarily for undoing fasteners.
Yo those gold wheels though 😵😱 super hot boiiiii lol. The z is Definitely going to be dope af bro. Looking forward to watching you rip once she's all finished
I would say to go with new inner tie rods just to get a few more threads in, but that’s just me. Side note, there are several brands that make an “inner tie rod” tool, it is basically a long tube with an open face wrench on one end(and the tool comes with different sizes for different tie rod ends) and the other end is a 1/2” square to put a ratchet into. It’s been saving me time for years swapping tie rods, so I highly recommend. The Z is looking great man, congrats!
Adam, I have been taught that to be sure of good thread engagement, try to get 1.5 times the diameter to get the length of threads to do.. so for example, a 1 inch bolt into a block of aluminum, you would want about 1.5 inches engagement.. you can always get away with less, but it could cause the durability and reliability to decrease some.
To lock the threads and keep it from coming out.... thread the piece in, drill and tap like a 10-32 or 1/4-20 hole through the side into the threaded piece that comes loose (Not all the way through just like a 1/4 - 3/8" deep or so), and install a set screw with loctite on the set screw. You can also peen over (Take a pointed punch and hit near the whole deforming the metal into the threaded hole) where you installed the set screw adding another physical barrier so the set screw can't come loose.
Don't feel bad Adam I followed the instructions that wisefab provided when cutting my tie rods for my 350Z they ended up being too short. After I ordered another set I just cut enough after test fitting it until I got it to have enough adjustability for it to work properly
Adam, try using a cone wrench. It's a cycling specific tool but the head is super skinny, and comes in loads of sizes. Namely for removing pedals and BB shells and such. Cheers!
On those inner tie rod ends. If you can't find a thin wrench to fit them buy a cheap open end wrench that is the correct size. Then take either a belt sander( bench top not hand held ) or a grinder and just grind away at it until it's thin enough to fit. Or another option is to make a wrench out of some steel plate.
Take a cheap crescent wrench and a grinder and grind down the thickness of the head on each side till it fits. Had this problem when working on my jeep and it saved me. You only need to grind down towards the adjustment screw like and inch and a half.
If it's anything like the 240, I'd give the offset spacers about two events before they get a little loosey goosey on you, lol. Keep up the great work man.
Hey Adam next time you go to the hardware store get you a box of plumbing wire brushes they're really helpful for cleaning threads, you can also break the handle off and attach it to your drill, which is really helpfull for cleaning holes and such.
Another UA-camr AvE said in his video today that all you need for full strength in steel is 3 threads. If you can get that far in without effecting your toe it's safe. If you can afford tie rods and prefer getting new ones do it for you but if you want to drive soon the tie rods seem safe enough.
Adam, there's actually a tool they sell to tighten those inner tie rods. I'm sure you can find one at harbor freight or wherever they sell tools. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Yooo Adam! (Not just because I love the brap!) But y'all gotta out a 13b into the Yata I just got my rx7 running and the car is soooo dope Even NA has power! ✊🏿 Dope kit
The "skinny wrench" you want, is a Bonney wrench, or "service wrench". It's looks like an open end wrench with no closed end. Just a handle. And no they don't adjust. If need be you can also grind them down a little to make them skinnier.. Great for jam nuts and close tolerance.
Adam quick tip when you install nuts and bolts on a car. Tighten the nut not the bolt because its you tighten the bolt you have a way bigger chance of it snapping than the having the nut pull the bolt through and torquing it. Thats why in engines you put head studs instead of bolts because of more even torque distribution and WAY less chance of the bolt snapping in the block
A hint that will help you in the future when your trying to line up stuff with a hole so you can put a bolt through. Use a long handle Philip's head screw driver.
Shouldn't we be torquing things to spec? Sorry if I missed something. I don't say it maliciously or as a know it all mechanic just concerned for safety and what not.
I honestly think Adam should customize the Mustang a bit, then see if he still wants something different. Even wheels and coils can make you fall in love with it again.
Hey you could slap a small tack weld on the offset spacer bolt just enough to keep it from not backing out but not to much so you would still be able to snap it loose and take it off
I'm not sure about the bushings on the control arms of that wisefab kit, but generally you don't want to tighten control arm bolts until the car is either on the ground or you put the control arm close to rideheight. Otherwise once the car settles the bushing tears/wears out very quickly.
Not sure if you will see this but a small word of advise, I noticed when you were tightening the bolts with the impact you were using it on the bolt end rather than the nut. This can lead to stretching the bolts. Always best to tighten the nut onto the bolt.
Hey, Adam, if the tierod has atleast 10mm of thread (about 7 threads) in the rod-end at the correct alignment, then it is fine and should not be an issue. Atleast that´s how these rod-ends are typically meant to be. It might look scary, but should not be a problem.
You should buy an inner tie rod tool. It's like 15 bucks. It bolts on and you can use a 3/8 ratchet and it'll fit inside the suspension, so you can tighten it without having to grab it from the a wrench
Recomemed thread should be minimum 1.5x the diameter of the bolt or in your case adam the steering rack end, to stop your offset spacers coming loose could you fit a grub screw into the side of the fixing bolt you applied the thread locker as this would stop it turning.
You can spin a vise that's bolted down they have tensioners you loosen that allow the vise to pivot on the base.. vises that aren't bolted down suck to use.. at least in my past experiences..
You shouldn't have a problem using only that amount of thread engagement on the tierod end. Almost all of the mechanical load on a bolt is held by the last three threads so as long as the bolt is of quality and well fit anything more than three is safe from a mechanical standpoint.
So I say instead of buying parts start buying tools look stuff up its not hard at all so that way it not that hard to work on stuff mount that vise take your stuff to a bench even roller cart with vice on it it will help with frustrations and the amount of time it takes to complete might want to torque quick even with cheap one so that way dont over stretch bolts keep up good work not a garter just hate seeing the struggle when got all means to have that thin wrench that lots of company's make
Adam: Uh oh I stripped a nut because I used an impact. *puts new nut on.* *USES IMPACT AGAIN*
The first one didnt strip from the impact, it actually stripped from being hammered at an akward angle
Oh alright. Btw I got a giveaway car poster and it’s sick. Thanks.
Also next time u should use the impact on the nut side and hold the bolt. It just puts less stress on everything.
That's why you don't beat your nuts....duh
3 things... 1) I want to start by saying that I love your videos. 2) don't you start your nuts and bolts by hand first to avoid stripping them? 3) would it be possible to say how much the parts or kits cost, maybe an estimate. This is what's up man, like seeing you guys work together.

When the 2 best UA-camrs meet
2jzlex you're on here too buddy!
You at this point should stop saying youre mechanically incompetent. Learn by doing, and Over the years I have watched you tackle and perform some quite technical operations and not just on one vehicle. You have come a long way my friend.
Casey Gray bro that's what I am saying, he can diagnose a bit now. He is way better then he was
It’s his attitude that has got him to where he is today.
And judging by the way that caliper is hanging on the hose 😒😒😒😒😔😔😔😔😔... speaks volumes
adam your vise CAN rotate even if its bolted down. thats what that lower lever is for.
this. lol. im hoping he was just joking?
I hope so lol
I was thinking the same thing when he said that. I don't think he was joking. Maybe because he has never had it bolted down to notice it. Idk funny either way
Baldium is here!!!!

NO FUCKING WAY?! ADAM AND GINGIUM IN A VIDEO FUCK YES #goals 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Please use a torque wrench.
Watching them hammer down on nut/bolt/hardware IS always painful to say the least. I was on the edge of the toilet seat lol !!! I really enjoy the content though! keep up the good work ADAM!

it makes me cringe when he tightens bolts in the air like that, suspention componants should always be tightened at ride hight to prevent binding
Yeah😂 this Z is NOT going to be just a beater car... Like your 240 was meant to be😁
Just like Orion's daily won't be a daily 😂
i feel like he wants the wisefabb so he wil be more used to it when hes in texas/ if he wants it on his other projeckts
"Literally the cleanest daily, Im not gonna fuck with it"

Seems like yesterday you were at 800k... now you’re almost at 2 MILLION!!
Adam i give props yo got some talent with cars man you got it.
always replace damaged bolts!
I’ve always used park tools cone wrench’s for all those tight fitting jobs. They work great and from park tools
Yo those gold wheels though 😵😱 super hot boiiiii lol. The z is Definitely going to be dope af bro. Looking forward to watching you rip once she's all finished
The piece at about 3:17 is called a hiem joint , they are very common in motorsports because the have no flex and are very precise and adjustable
2 of my favourite youtubers in one vide... Gingium and Adam
wtf 2 million? ???
Oto Destekçim he only got 1.9 million for me
He isn’t there yet buddy but close !
you're on every fucking video
CJ trust me mate 😂
Nice 350z
You guys make a sweet team. Gingium + LZ need more meetups

Those wheels look fucking insane 😍😍😍 gold and black, like my watch 😉
Gingium is such a genuine guy

Road to 2 mil, let's do this !!!
20 mins no ads wtf give Adam love. Like WTF Susan Adam is the best

im glad adams finally getting wisefab, surprised he never did it on any of the 240s before

Buy a set of crow foot wrenches for a replacement of that adjustable when you need to adjust the tie rods... they attach to an extension or ratchet.
See you at round one this weekend Adam!
Glad to gingium there, and it call a hiem joint to the best of my knowledge.
after this, Nicole wants 500hp mia now xD. either way, stoked to see Gingium and his Miata on your video.
Hey you could slap a small tack weld on the offset spacer bolt just enough to keep it from not backing out but not to much so you would still be able to snap it loose and take it off
Was cool seeing Gingium in your vid good content :)
I want the gold wheels to go on the cream 240! I think you'll look so dope! Or some purple wheels or blue will look dope also
'"it was so fun i forgot i was driving a miata" nichole you are a savage
I'm not sure about the bushings on the control arms of that wisefab kit, but generally you don't want to tighten control arm bolts until the car is either on the ground or you put the control arm close to rideheight. Otherwise once the car settles the bushing tears/wears out very quickly.
Z is coming along nicely!
Not sure if you will see this but a small word of advise, I noticed when you were tightening the bolts with the impact you were using it on the bolt end rather than the nut. This can lead to stretching the bolts. Always best to tighten the nut onto the bolt.
Adam....all it takes is 5 threads to hold a steel rod or bolt in.
the bolt will break before the threads strip out
If you get loctite green thread locker they will not come lose if the threads are clean. Just make sure its retaining compound.
I absolutely love your videos . I have watched everything lol
Hey, Adam, if the tierod has atleast 10mm of thread (about 7 threads) in the rod-end at the correct alignment, then it is fine and should not be an issue. Atleast that´s how these rod-ends are typically meant to be. It might look scary, but should not be a problem.

In professional racing the rule of thumb is 1.5 times the diameter of the fastener is considered "safe" thread engagement.
Recomemed thread should be minimum 1.5x the diameter of the bolt or in your case adam the steering rack end, to stop your offset spacers coming loose could you fit a grub screw into the side of the fixing bolt you applied the thread locker as this would stop it turning.

Man that shelby sounded good flying by
I like how Matt made everyone want to build a drift 350z. Let’s see if Adam can take the OSW crown because money can’t always buy technique.
You shouldn't have a problem using only that amount of thread engagement on the tierod end. Almost all of the mechanical load on a bolt is held by the last three threads so as long as the bolt is of quality and well fit anything more than three is safe from a mechanical standpoint.
General rule of thumb when it come to threads on things like tie rods and nut nuts and such is a minimum of 6 threads.
You are very Nice, friendly youtuber :D I think all's beatifull
not bad, plenty of threads, left less than that on some alignments i have done and had no come-backs
Eyy gingium I have been watching you since 2k subs when you still did drag races
For your rack spacers you can use hub wrenches used on bicycles. Its made by Park tool (basically very skinny wrenchs) Good Luck!
Brilliant! I have those :)
I love the different outro
Adam you should get a JDM legend like seriously it would be great to watch and I know you'd enjoy one a rx-7,supra,r32,r33,r34,nsx
10:13.... what's up with the 6 plus washers stacked up? Or am I missing something...
Hey adam those joints on your wise fab kit are called a hiem joint
So I say instead of buying parts start buying tools look stuff up its not hard at all so that way it not that hard to work on stuff mount that vise take your stuff to a bench even roller cart with vice on it it will help with frustrations and the amount of time it takes to complete might want to torque quick even with cheap one so that way dont over stretch bolts keep up good work not a garter just hate seeing the struggle when got all means to have that thin wrench that lots of company's make
That Miata sounds far better than most cars. Keep it the way it is lol
Gotta say, i love your videos!
Adams gonna go bankrupt with a rotary build😂😂 I'm gonna love that build 🤘🤘
bout to smash 2 mil my guy
Leave calipers gold looks good how it blends
what happened to the Mini?
