My MG started the day my oldest son was born. At 6 am when i was in labor I was just fine. At 6 pm going to take our first family picture I couldn't smile and was having difficulty chewing and swallowing. By discharge 2 days later I needed help getting dressed. Finally diagnosed 2 years later I was told Myasthenia Gravis came from My- Muscle - asthenia - weakness Gravis - grave - for Grave Muscle Weakness.

"You could be taking Penicillamine.. Why would you be taking this in 2020, I have no idea!" Hahahahaha couldn't help but comment. You are too good. Anytime I need to understand a topic, I always search You tube for Medicosis Perfectionalis. Such a delight to watch your videos. Fun learning. Thank you so much!

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis She remains stable and more importantly, is up beat and positive. She wishes only that she could smile. But We see it through her eyes. Thank you for asking.

If I'm taking an acytlcholine esterase inhibitor and then get the Achr test. Will it change the test results or am i ok? I already am taking something and it has helped me but havent gotten the AcHr test yet. Thinking i should stop taking it until my sympyoms come back thrn get the blood trst to confirm myasthenia. But at the same time i dont want to reverse

An acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody test is used to help diagnose myasthenia gravis (MG) and to distinguish it from other conditions that may cause similar symptoms, such as chronic muscle fatigue and weakness.👍

Love your vids good sir, but to say pregnancy couldn't be a causative factor in autoimmunity, hmm.... Sorry, but to me, that makes no sense. Immunity is suppressed throughout most of pregnancy, so the mother's immune system doesn't attack the foetus. So guess what, the bugs in the gut, or potentially elsewhere in the body (i.e subclinical infections), have a party time for 9 months. Then you have the birth and the mother's immune system comes back online and has to deal with all the extra inflammation. Inflammation creates damage, and the body then recognises self as DAMPS, and that's why you get more autoimmunity after pregnancy and no doubt susceptibility to things like post partum depression.
