- The Young Marines is a National Program that instills a drug-free lifestyle into youth ages eight through the completion of high school. Young Marines teaches leadership, teamwork, and discipline and prides itself on being active in the community and in taking part in honoring veterans as much as possible.
The Young Marines is a lot like the Boy Scouts or ROTC or the Sea Cadets but the Young Marines set themselves apart by the sheer amount of amazing opportunities offered, the extreme pride, the high-esteem, and the extraordinary ability to make productive young leaders for tomorrow's future.

Young Marines is a great program for today's youngsters and future leaders. I'm a proud parent of two young marines and will recommend to anyone there who is looking for positive achievements. If we could pass the word around this great program, we will be able to help thousands of kids to become better citizen and positives human beings.
I am the XO for the Annapolis Young Marines and I am very proud of the kids in my unit. OOORAH!! We are part of the Marine Corp Leauge, we not only represent the Marines but also the future and our ties to our community. It is an honor for me to be part of this orginization. I would encourage anyone to join if you have a unit in your area.

Great video I am a Young Marine Lance Corporal in the Foothills Young Marines. This video makes me proud! Semper Fi! Ooh Rah!!!
im in the sandy river young marines (maine) and i love it!
This video makes me remember what we stand for. We all know that there comes a point in this program where we don't do things to better ourselves anymore. We do the things we do for the Young Marine on our left and the Young Marine on our right. I can assure you that this prgram is so much more than what meets the eye.

ALS class of '12
I salute you Ma'am as a Sequoya Young marine Lance Corporal i thank you for the video you have posted. You have my respect Ma'am Good day.
We give them skills that will not fail them, we don't fill their heads with a belief that they can take down a crazy 40 year old man with an assault rifle. We are a YOUTH LEADERSHIP program, not a defending force for the US. We are not in any way or shape teaching combat and warfare training, We are not teaching them how to be Marines, We are not teaching them how to kill zombies, We are not teaching them how to clear a building and disarm people. We teach leadership, discipline, and teamwork.
i love the young marines in it now
I have been a Young Marine for 2 1/2 years, its a great program. Oh and I know some of the people in this video.

I am a young marine from Venice Middle School and just got promoted to lance corpral. I absolutely love the program for the year I've been here. It is a chance to learn leadership, life skills, drug free lifestyle and most importantly teamwork.

HOORAH! Cpl Hartley
Great video Brittany! Not going to lie, a tear almost about...its amazing what this program can do and has done for me! Rah
The Young Marines is all about leadership teamwork and discipline. Not about making 8 year old infantry colonels.
I just think this video is great and gives the motivation to those Young Marines that why do they wear the uniform.
YM/SSGT CASTRO (San Diego young marines)
I graduated now I served in the army now I’m back home and seeing this put tears in my eyes
Former YM/SgtMaj, 2004-2012 and Combat Medic 2015-21. Made 5 in 3 and a lot of it was lessons learned since 9 years old in the program that set me apart from my peers to this day. Always proud to see the program going strong. Now in the last stages of the hiring process for the local PD in Colorado. Hope you’re doing well brother!
The marines are awesome I ship out to boot camp this month

Ym Cpl O'Dea
Nice to see where we used to be before the glorified baby sitters we are now. Miss these days with my whole God damned heart. Best years of my life. Wouldnt be who I am without it. Shame it went down the way it did
Very nice video. I like it a lot and would be interested in showing it to my fellow recruits and young marines if that's okay. It's a very nice video. I can tell you put a lot of time into making it, and you did fantastic. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. -YM/SGT Smith
Brittany, This is absolutely the best and most powerful recruiting tool I have ever seen in regards to the Young Marine program. I am a unit commander and would love to be able to include this in my unit website. Is this something you would be willing to allow? If not, no hard feelings. What a great service you provided to the Young Marines and its members. I would like to get an original copy of the power point but not sure if that violates the rules. Let me know. I will check back. Thank you!!
Awesome video Brittany, I am the XO for the Annapolis Unit and I love working with the kids. I agree that teaching kids combat at 8yrs old is not right. We do plenty of other fun things and we are heavy committed to our community. If you are looking for a group to join I would definitely say give the Young Marines a chance in your area you won't go wrong..
I was young Marines out of west over afb 2008 2009
I was a YM from 1969-72, when it disbanded. I don’t know why it ended, but it upset the heck out of me. I started when I was 8 years old, and spent a third of my life in it, lol. Great memories, and is something that is surely needed today. Our youth are lost without programs such as this.
The only way to know if you'll do well in the Young Marines is to try it and see! Go to the national website and find a unit near you. Check it out, have you grandparents see what its all about, and try it. I can't tell you if its a good fit for you from behind a computer screen! If you're really interested and are committed then take some initiative and go for it.
Our unit got the McRl award twice from two posts
PS still good job on the power point
HOORAH!!! LCpl fodrie
I'm also plan on joining the navy, army, or marines when i turn 17. My dream is to become Officer in the military. The reason i want to is because i love my country and i'm willing to give my life to my country and my Uncle is a active medic in the army. He was accepted for a bronze star after 4-7-11 when he did something heroic that day. He didn't tell me how so i didn't ask because he looked pretty sad. He told me that a new commander had denied it because he was under E5. I thought that was
We teach stranger danger, so if they are attacked or kidnapped they would know how to react. We don't teach weapons and combat training because there is no need for an eight year old to know how to infiltrate a building and take down the enemy. This program is about leadership, not about making eight year olds into Marines or soldiers. We leave the warfare to the actual Marines not the children.
I'm in the young marines. This video was touching:)
I am in the canadian army cadets. Turning into a master corporal next month! :D But young marines seems alot more fun then canadian cadets
hello im a newly joined recruit graduating in a couple weeks.
Brown. t central arizona young marines
(ps)inspiring video
@bclomera yeah I do. My mom was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. And I told her I wanted to be a marine.
I'm a young marine
I miss my Firebird Young Marines days. Down here in Phoenix, Az, the other units around Az really looked up to us because we truly held ourselves with the Marine Corps standards. Then I went to be the 3rd Platoon Guide during Devil Pups in 2012 which was soon followed by enlistment time (I got a medical disqualification after a motorcycle collision). I left the Young Marines as a Gunny but I was my platoon leader, I ran multiple recruitments, taught the best way to dig heals (crush skulls), sound off, and remain inside the chain of command. I wish that my Young Marines unit still existed! OORAH!!
I greatly enjoyed going to the valley to work with you guys I was in the eastern mountain young Marines.
@@blakehutzler7127 Do you know anyone from around my time? Does the name Alger ring a bell? I'm now trying to think of some other specific East Valley Young Marines.
Your last name is very familiar I'm certain I met you before.
Your probably more familiar with some of the guys that where senior to me Connor and Colin Dulhanty Tanner Grimes and kylee feemster.
@@blakehutzler7127 I remember Dulhanty and Feemster. Just vaguely remember Grimes because that last name is very similar to mine.
They should teach some hand to hand combat, in the case of "stranger danger", so they don't get kidnapped in the first place.
HOO RAH!!!! LCpl Fodrie
I'm joining young marines.. In going to be a marine dog handler
20 jealous civil air patrol guy disliked this video
I left the program a platoon sergeant 7 years ago, I'm now a county bailiff for court. it's a great leadership program amd instills confidence.
Popoinslime: They do sometimes teach that for self-defense.
I am a young marine from Westmoreland county and this video made me feel great thank you
hoorah young marines.

We learn Hand to hand Combat(CQC Either One) for Self defense only we are not to use it unless a life threatening situation emerges.
By the way it is Passive-Defensive not Passive-Aggressive
Staff sergeant Patterson here of Macomb county young marines
do you have the service A or C uniforms? if you do, I would like to know how to earn them
Ssgt. Seymour your unit CO is supposed to give the sevice A when you hit the rank of CPL and service C at the rank of SSGT
i love the program, im a proud billings Young Marine. greatest program ever.
YM/Lcpl.Demaree
@EpicDoge That's great, you'll love it.
@Eagle When I first joined the program I was almost 300lbs, when I was left I was around 215lbs. I also had a physical conditioning class at school on top of it, but they have PT sessions almost every week. But, you'll do enough PT with the program to be able to do push-ups, pull ups, etc.
This video is so true and amazing it gives me chills!
Like YM/CPL O'Dea said You can earn a ribbon for swimming and SCUBA but you don't have to. Some units even offer swim lessons....
@ Brittany Schmidt Bravo Zulu
I am in the young Marines started in November AKA I am a private
Hooah CAP!

note there is a difference between defensive techniques and combat training.
I am part of the Boston Young Marines and I can honestly say that this is simply AMAZING and should be shown in EVERY school in EVERY state..... Semper Fi!
I'm a corporal moving on to sergeant. I can certainly say it's worth trying out. Also in case anyone is wondering. It's not a recruitment program for the millitary. It's a orginazation dedicated to strengthening Americas youth and making them better leaders for tomorrow. But give it a try if you can. It's a worth while experience. :)
i was about to be a PFC but i moved
I'm a Royal Marines Sergeant in the UK, may I ask as to what the music is? Once a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine.
Woo
Im a lcpl Worly Young Marine-OORA
OoRahh!!!
I mean if they made it iam going to make it
You people being negative are ignorant I was in this program an it taught me alot now my kids are in it an it's helped my daughter to become more confident about herself. Has nothing to do with Ain't Ready for Marines Yet aka ARMY
The best place where to have our young kids at. GOD Bless You All
ODD best Young marines unit in the nation
This could be my only chance
@bclomera
I showed my mom the video. She said it was interesting. I want to talk more about it with her.

I would have done Young Marines but they were too far away so I'm in the Sea cadets
Keep in the YM. I was in the YM's and I made PFC straight in and made honor grad making me L. Cpl. Straight outta boot

Civil air patrol is where its at
There is a fee to join but its very low and depending on the unit you can step up payment plans...
@bclomera I have she says I'm weird and now she's told my whole family that I want to do this and JROTC.
I'm in private first class
This is a wonderful video Brittany. I put 3 grand kids in the YM's program in Bossier City, La. just this summer. The oldest, female 14 y/o- the middle one, female 12 y/o- the youngest male, 10 y/o and I have never been so proud in my life. They graduated August 3rd, 2013. Now if they will just stay in the program. I'm willing to transport, but gosh what a battle on Saturdays just to get them up to go! They love it every time they go though. Girls are grouchy when made to get up out of that bed!
