I'm the same way, I don't really like ASMR (or rather, specifically the talking or eating ones, they just never sat right with my ears), but there really is something very magical about these ones that give my brain a nice scratch
I bought some of the cherry blossom sealing wax so I could put it in a little glass jar and shake it. Is that too much? Did I cross a line there? I can't tell....
The cheap stamps make any wax look bad i think 🤔 but the cheap wax can look good with a nice stamp.

Hi melts! I've been watching your videos for the past few weeks and because of you I wanted to try wax sealing too, so I bought a beginners kit and it arrived yesterday! As I was trying it, I figured you make it seem easier than it actually is. Everything is hard, cleaning after is even harder. But I remembered this video, where you mentioned cat paw wax was not that good and now I understand that, so I can't wait to buy good wax and new stamps, because the stamps I got are not that good either. Thank you for your efford, your time and for introducing me to this world!
And maybe your skill as a beginner is not good enough too? I think you can still try few times more on your beginner kit before buying good or more expensive one
@@Hazkao Yeah, sealing wax isn't that hard if you're only using one color wax so it's not just my poor skill 😅 But I got better! I already bought some good quality stamps and wax bc the ones that came in with the kit were kinda bad, my seals look better now! The quality of the stamp makes a huge difference tbh, more so than the wax. Cleaning is still hard if your spoon sticks, fortunately I got to know the non-stick spoon and so I bought one to make my life easier until I find a way to easily clean the other spoon I have 😆
@@teachxrry Oh ok I see what you mean , I forgot that mixing colour can be hard for us as a beginner ,, since I was once tried the cheap wax with single colour for the first time and I was so successful , so I thought it's easy or maybe you just need practice more , so sorry if I sounded rude to you , thank you for explaining
저렴이 왁스는 굳은 후에 딱딱한 것도 매력으로 느껴지더라구요~ 근데 디자인이나 색감은 원래 쓰던 왁스가 예뻐요
Thanks for this informative video, Melts! I think the inexpensive wax is probably a better option than the alloy stamps and tools, especially with stolen/counterfeit designs. The colours are still pretty, even if the texture is stiff. How does it compare to other stiff waxes, like honey jelly wax? Maybe if money is a challenge, it's better to save for good stamps and tools and ok to have cheaper wax?
I've never done wax sealing(?) before, but that was the impression I got.
I feel like I'd go a third path: invest in just 1-3 high-quality stamps but go wild on the wax. The definition is just *so* different side-by-side, even if the bargain wax is brittle.
Also: I once bought a piece of art (like, a canvas print?) that I LOVED LOVED LOVED - and still love - but in a quiet moment realized that *of course* it was stolen artwork. That I paid a thief instead of the person who *literally made it* never fails to cross my mind and it taints it, even if my complicity was unintentional 🙁🤦♀️

It would have been good to show cheap wax+good stamp and also expensive wax+cheap stamp.
If you use only cheap wax+cheap stamp and expensive wax+good stamp, it's impossible to know if the poor result is because of the wax or the stamp.
저요 저요...첫 실링이재료 테무서 시킬때 멋모르고 싼거 시켰어 얇은황동이 인장..ㅠㅠ 찍어보고 잘 찍히는것만 살려두고 20개 가까이 밀봉했어요...

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for at retail places. If the price is too good to be true, that's likely because it is. Only times you can get a good deal is from people directly on marketplaces, usually when they're trying to downsize or sell off old hobby supplies quick. I make soap, candles and other goods, and I've realized this too. If something is cheaper than you're expecting, it is likely there's some catch to it that you might not see or they are obscuring from you.
멜츠님 혹시 겨울도 다가오는데 실링왁스 인장들 중에 겨울간식(붕어빵, 어묵 같은 거요!!) 같은 인장들도 있으면 찍어보는 것도 재미있을 것 같아요!!

I have purchased almost everything so far from Temu, AliExpress, and a little from Amazon.

you can usually tell cheap wax from quality when you look at price points. the companies you mentioned are not notorious for their quality items, fair wages, or support of artists. smaller businesses (like misterrobinson) that make their own wax and stamp designs that are worth checking out

I have a question. What is it about "cheap" wax that makes it "cheap"? Does sealing wax contain additives to make it better than plain paraffin wax? I would love to know what's in it. I want to make my own wax mixes using wax I bought to make candles. I have oil-based dye, several mica and pearl powders, and ultra fine glitter. I guess I'll need to make some and see how they "feel".

Ich habe schon die letzten zwei Male gemerkt, dass mein Wachs langsamer schmilzt und auch schneller aushärtet. Ich habe mich drauf gefreut, dass es schneller geht.
Aber ich wusste nicht, dass es das billigere Wachs war. Ich dachte das alle Wachsperlen gleich sind.
Da habe ich was bei Dir gelernt.
Es wird für mich schwer, zu unterscheiden, welche Qualität es ist.
Wäre interessant, wenn es einen Klebstoff gäbe, das man für die Einzelelemente benutzt, damit die nicht aus dem Stempel nicht herausfallen.

I enjoy your videos so much that I got a wax seal kit for myself! I figured that even though the wax might be cheap, I would get some higher quality stamps. I was surprised by the quality of the wax. It was decent! I think the stamp itself makes the most difference. I think it will be a fun and relaxing hobby for me. I don’t write letters, so I think I will glue magnets to the back of the finished seals and give them to my friends. I love your videos, Melts!

멜츠님 영상보고 처음 실링왁스라는 걸 접하기 시작했는데 어느덧 실링왁스가 제 취미 생활 중 하나가 되었어요! 항상 잘 보고 있습니다✨💖 한 가지 여쭤보고 싶은게 있는데요 얼마 전에 멜츠님이 자주 사용하시는 새장 거치대를 구매해서 사용하고 있는데요..! 저는 이상하게 양초 심지를 자르고 사용하니까 왁스가 너무 안녹고 심지어는 아무리 기다려도 완전히 녹지를 않더라구요 그래서 양초가 완전히 덮어지는 거치대로 바꿔서 사용하고 있는데 이 경우에는 심지를 자르지 않고 사용하는게 나을까요? 구매했는데 막상 사용을 잘 못해서 아쉬워서요🥲
심지 길이를 너무 많이 말고 조금씩만 자르면서 불 크기를 보며 테스트해 보시는 걸 추천드려용 😄

remember that when you buy cheap products, that lower price is taken from somewhere, often meaning lower wages and less regulation for the people producing the products. it matters where we spend our money!

대신 대답 죄송합니다! 녹이기 전 실링왁스는 두꺼워서 단단한데 인장으로 누르고 난 실링왁스는 그냥 얇은 플라스틱 같아서 가위로 자르기 쉬워요!
