As a Kings fan, I think the main problem with Mike is his substitution. He takes risk and put in guys that he think can give the other team a problem but ended up not so. For example, he likes to play small ball (inherited from his time with GS) and think that by spreading out his offense, he can give the other team a problem. This work with GS but with the Kings? Not necessarily, the Kings have players that couldn't defend such as Huerter, but he constantly put him out there allowing other team to exploit his weakness and thus overall team couldn't stop anybody. Brown also has that military hardnose discipline style that I think players probably don't feel free or feel they're free of doing what they wanted on the court. Thus, you sometimes see too much scripted play calls that don't seem to work. With Christie, you can see the offensive flow is better, quicker and guys are selfishly passing the ball and getting open shots. They also ramp up their energy in defending and cover each other much better, ironically. This is because Christie is putting in guys that actually play defense like Keon and the rookie Devin Carter, not some idiots like Huerter who can never keep anybody in front of him to save his life. And also, knowing when to put them in and when to rest and how to counter what the other team had out there is important. That's also something Mike Brown sucks at imo. Now, you may ask why did he did so well before? My suspicious is that he relies on Jordi Hernandez for substitution input in basketball situations and so when he left this year to take on the Nets coaching job, Mike Brown was left to make his own decision.
Kings fan here, Mike Brown was the problem. This has been going on since half way through last yr. Bad rotation, poorly time outs, unrecognized temperature of hisn players and flow of the game.
I couldn’t agree more. Brown was trying to bend the team to his will. He was the right coach for the moment, but has the wrong temperament to lead them (the Kings in their current form) long term. Like you said, terrible in-game management.
i don't think that was the issue - historically Mike Brown has the Doc Rivers syndrome, when you give them too much talent they don't know how to handle it - case in point when he was fired from Lakers after the Dwight Howard trade. Opposite can be said of Coach Pop - without an all time great on his team, he's mediocre at best. There are so few coaches left in the world of bball (Ty Lue, Kerr, Larry Brown, Phil, Kenny Atkinson)
I honestly don't know why people didn't see Westbrook being really good with Jokic. Hes an angrier shorter version of Aaron Gordon +some passing skills, and Jokic made Gordon better as a player too.
Brown lost in the first round, didn’t make it to the playoffs the next season, didn’t win any games in the Cup and chased out Sasha back to the Euroleague. Coach of the Year is lonely award given to one person. This is a team sport.
Oh, Brown lost in the first round? I thought it was a team sport 😂 Fox broke a finger, Huerter and Keegan forgot how to shoot (Keegan did finally remember couple games in). Kings were clearly the better team but lacked experience. Last season Kings shooters couldn’t shoot… Can’t just blame everything on a guy who wasn’t even out there wtf
@@Weather_NerdI think that people who defend Brown are missing the fact that Browns attitude is the reason the players couldn’t be their best selves. The coach’s primary job is to make sure the team plays well together. Mindset is the most important aspect that Brown doesn’t have. He acts like he’s above his players. This created friction and the players couldn’t do what they can do, including shooting.
5:48 umm no! Defense was never the Kings bread and butter under Mike Brown, it what their elite offense. It's not a coincidence their defense was worse tho when Brown kept giving dnps to Keon
Mike Brown DNP'd Keon so many games for no reason!! And now Mike Brown got permanently DPN'd
We came for Kings convo not Pacers

Agree it was Jodi making game time decisions to help Mike Brown. When he left he didn’t have any idea when to take time out and whom to play.

agreed. I got tired of Mike quick.
One problem with brown is his hard ass DNP guys for mistakes
I Am glad Palo is back
Watched mike for 2 seasons. He had shitty subs and we lost many games we should have won. He needed to go. Doug Christie simplified everything.

“Experts” being dead wrong about the Kings shouldn’t surprise anyone. These dorks don’t know shit 💩

I think Sasha would have played better under Dough

Golden State should benchmark
Nemby is a potential star masquerading as a high end role player.
The media hates the pacers
I Am Not sure if Mike Brown was the issue?
I am sure that Coach Mike Brown not playing Keon Ellis got him fired by Vivek the owner who is a lover of statistics.
Bruh.. coach got fired and team is on a 7 win streak.. it’s not hard to figure it out
lol wtf. he was the problem
