Oh no that sucks. I love this modwave because it's as close as you can get to a contemporary Access Virus type synth but in the mid price range. I think it's deeper and more interesting than the Hydrasynth and Argon8, too. I highly recommend trying to find a way to get one if you're wanting this type of synth.
@@MaxWodarczyk I have a virus TI MK1, however I'm now unable to use it as Access stopped updating the drivers for Mac OS. So I am looking for a replacement hard synth
Yeah I would've got a Virus at some point but since they're no longer supported I think that ship has sailed. The modwave is at least bi-timbral, and has custom wavetable import and multisample import. Otherwise, on the premium end there's always the Waldorf synths like the Iridium with all the bells & whistles & quality construction.
I srsly apologize for not clicking to you sooner, but I've seen you from reddit. You shred, sir. And when I have the time for it, we should connect more directly. I wanna say some stuff. Personally, I think it's incredibly brave to cover such music and you are killing it. In the good way.
I really appreciate it. You could definitely DM me on Reddit or Twitter to start a convo anytime. I've got the same name and profile pic there. Just forgive me if it takes me a bit to respond lol.
Haha great question. I tried so hard and I couldn't do it either. So I literally sampled the amen from the actual song, sliced it back into oneshots, and I also added a decay back in to the envelope on the oneshots because I knew I was going to have them go through my own compression and it wouldn't work well running already-squashed drums through another compressor squashing of my own. Same is true for 2 of the other fill breakbeats, but the Tramen break and the into break (Life Could) were ones I already had previously. I kind of regret not sampling Tech Itch's snare for the Life Could break in the intro because I couldn't get it to sound as good as his.
@@MaxWodarczyk Dang :/ Well, I do know that producers of this style use a notch filter and desk drive. That's about as much as I know though. I can get fairly close, but it just doesn't sound as clean and fat.
@@docmcfly3933 i know right. I've noticed a notch on the snare somewhere around the 400-500hz range does it, and Stranjah has a video on EQing the amen like Tech Itch and Dom & Roland but I've still never been able to get it quite right. I think there's some kind of distortion techniques they're using too that we just can't pinpoint. But if you're interested, I just uploaded those oneshots if you want them. I use Ableton's sampler to give them a bit of a longer tail and then dial the length back on my Roland drum module so it fits right in the context of the song, and also because of the Roland's capabilities they have to be 44.1khz sample rate and 16 bit, but here you go lol. www.mediafire.com/folder/v48uqpc1yjtl5/Rukus_Drum_Oneshots
@@MaxWodarczyk Thanks dude, you rock! Yeah, it definitely sounds like that's what they are doing. Sometimes having the right tools does make a difference. I think they used Mackies and cranked the volume. I use a plugin that replicates just that. It's called Mackity. It rules!
Back when every Tech Itch track was face melting✊
He’s still doing it
@@Strafuzz I can’t remember most of the melodies in latest tracks, this old stuff was different. Every release was top notch
