"I need your sandals, your toga, and your chariot"
"I do not understand."
Neither do we, Arnie. Neither do we.
Still a better movie then anything Seagal has ever put out
How dare you! Seagull is a national treasure and a fkn saint!
Careful there....seagall does his own sitting 😊
Obviously you haven't seen him run in his early movies. I bet he can't even walk at a fast pace these days. @@BurninatorTheTrogdor
I don't know.. Under siege was kinda okay. But that's pretty much it lol
@adrian_veidt actually you're right I forgot about that one...I wouldn't wanna watch it again buy under siege wasn't bad but that was because Tommy Lee Jones was in it
I saw this on TV in the early 90's. Now I have the DVD with both audio track
Thank goodness for Arnold sticking it out and giving us such great characters like the Terminator and Dutch
"Jacked up on mountain dew." That was a fantastic line.
It’s true though, it happened in Afghanistan. When I first went over there in 2002, it was tea this and that. By the time I left that country for good in 2009(3rd tour) everybody and their moms were jacked up on Mt Dew. The power of America at its finest.
What a gem "hercules does not need money" has always been gold plated
I have a DVD version of this masterpiece. It has both an original and dubbed soundtrack. Needless to say, I watched it first time with subtitles. 😏
Ah, a great find at Wal-Mart's 5 dollar DVD bin in 2004.
It is amazing how awesomely awful he was in this he was eventually able to become one of the more charismatic action stars of the 80s/early 90s.
15:22 There's traffic noise in the background lol
Basically the same plot as Wonder Woman
3:35 😂😂😂😂 stuntman missed his cue/mark.
Also *Fun (obscure) Fact:* Arnold Stang voiced the cartoon character Top Cat. If you know your Hanna-Barbera catalogue you'll know what I'm talking about.
11:58 I usually don't disagree with you, but our man deserves a full star Yelp Review for his dedication to customer service!! 😅 who's watching his cart right now?
If it's Zeus, then it's Herakles, not Hercules.
You should have talked about the end when that pretzy dude hears Arnold through the radio. That shit was classic.
This is a gem and should be preserved for future generations. Get well soon RedEye!
"Did you jumped ship? "
"No, ai woalked off id! "😅
Pretzy and Herc. 😂 I love how Pretzy steals their book and shows up drunk at their house and they're just like come on in guy we've known for three days. Also "MeUrcUrrry go DoWn dARe." Favorite line.
I first seen this early 2000 and I had no idea this existed till I seen it on satellite tv
In an old photo magazine (no, not that type of magazine) I found a small picture of a bodybuilder named "Arnold Strong" and that was good old Arnold from around the time he did this movie.
I watched this in the mid nineties at stupid o'clock in the morning after a night of heavy drinking and I saw the original dubbed version. Needless to say I was very drunk and very confused by actually seeing this in real life. I'd heard it was his first US acting gig but seeing it was very weird. I'm pretty sure the undubbed version is reasonably recent because of his status now. I'm glad he improved his English and got another chance to prove he could do what he has gone on to be loved for. Well done Governator!
Yep. Glorious. The very fact that this exists... Glorious.
As Alexander wept over the breadth of his domain, I too weep bearing witness to the sublime majesty that is "you have struck'd Hercules".
What an actor! A star is born!
Was this the inspiration for Johnny Cab? 6:36
Can't get enough of these.
I was just in NYC yesterday getting a tattoo, i wish I could say I saw Hercules...😂 aka Arnold Strong
GET WELL SOON REDEYE!
Olympus must be near a freeway because every time they go there you can hear traffic in the background.
Good video as always, R.E. Here's hoping you feel better soon!
I’m just out the Andre The Giant school of acting, can you tell?
'Hercules' is said 147 times in this film!
Got to be a record 😂
Saw this movie when I was a kid. I loved this movie so much. I watched it a few years ago and laughed at how bid this movie is now that I'm an adult.
I have only seen this with the dubbed voices, but this original version is so good
I remember when Joan Rivers spilled the beans about Obama and Mike. Come on we all know.
One of his GREATEST films and FIRST acting roles.
Underrated and underappreciated. Brilliantly written, cast, acted & directed.
It's a film that should be in EVERYONEs library especially if you are an Arnold fan.
For the man with a fever (hopefully recovered) I have a crazy connection to make with this 'film'.
Do you think it's plausible the scene with Hercules fighting the bear, inspired the John West: Fisherman vs Bear fight commercial from the year 2000?
If I remember correctly mixing up greece and rome gods should be fine since Zeus once was forbidden to make more offsprings so he was like "ok, i'm not Zeus im the rome god now so I can make new baby"
Besides Zeus was changing into animals like you pointed out before.
this is hard to watch honestly
Mornin'!!
I had no idea that the version without the dub voice exists. I must watch it.
This was a funny movie. His buddy with the accent is hilarious. "You can't talk to a dame that way"
Love your content man keep it up
Thank you so much :) I'm glad you enjoy it
Use to love saying "i am the son of Zeus!" In that dubbed voice as a kid.
The original title of the film was 'Hercules Goes Bananas', but they changed it to 'Hercules in New York' in the 80s to make it not sound so bad for late night tv.
I remember watching this as a little kid, then id mention it and nobody had heard of it later in life. lol
You can also hear honking from cars in the Zeus scenes
But...is this better than Stallone's 1st movie, "The Italian Stallion"? Never seen it, but I hear its not about his horses.
He’s still easier to understand in this film than Steven Seagal in any of his films
Schwarzenegger probably would rather have you watch this than his film "The Villain" lol. As a child always wanted to play Hercules an admired Steve Reeves as Hercules.
also known as cactus jack
@@johansvensson833 I'd forgotten that thank you
So much fun! Rental from the video store.
They always mix up the Greek and Roman names in these movies/shows.
The best line he ever said was "Arrrrgan aaathan farrhannn yargannn"
When she said “Mercury” I said the same thing, lol. Mixed them up.
HOW many sailors did they have to akin and sew together together to make his sailing outfit?
It's kind of a miracle that Arnold had the career he did after this film. Why didn't they rewrite it to be...I don't know, "Thor in New York," maybe and make the gods Norse if they wanted their main character to be an Austrian dude who could barely speak English? I mean, no doubt the dude is mythically ripped, but why not tailor the script to fit the talent just a little.
Big muscles and no strength? Sounds like steroid abuse to me. 🤷♀️
You really think he had no strength ?
I actually watched a little of the voice over version. I had to stop watching it so I could stop laughing.
To be fair, many Roman gods were based on Greek gods, and by the end of the empire, they all had kind of blended together.
I remember watching that movie when it was still somewhat new
Between the bear fight and Pretzie. This movie is a phile.
Pretzie needs his own origin film.
I never knew Mitch McConnell did movies...
Sound of horn at background in scene where zeus is talking
Hey! Mt.Olympus could have cars! You don't know!
Around 09:27 they used Hervules instead of Heracles
Arnold was, is and always will be a LEGEND!!! Baby faced Arnie is so charming😂
do cactus jack/the villian with arnold as "handsome stranger"
I think this is better than his next movie. I also love this movie funny thing is first time I watched it I went in blind. I didn't know it was a comedy so I got very angry. Seen it again on late night tv about a month later and not expecting it to be good or serious I ended up laughing my ass off.
Dear gods of Olympus - 1969 !
I liked this movie. It was weird and fun. I have seen both versions and it's a coun toss on which one I like more 😆
Pretzie deserved a spin-off!
i am offended sir. Arnie didn't know English while making this film. the told him what to say and he repeated. he talks about it in his book total recall, wich he reads the first and last chapters on audible haha
It is a very good point. He did pretty dang well for a first time body builder turned actor
"Atlas...and Samson".
Am I really the only one who sees what's wrong with that?
Open slaps a bear? Come on Arnold you can do better! At least your friend Lou threw the bear into space!
I kinda want to watch both versions 😎
one day Arnolds casting couch film will be released.
Check out the movie Arnold made with Kirk Douglas. Seriously it exists.
"handsome stranger"
If Tommy Wiseau became a bodybuilder...dude 😂😂😂👌
I love this awful movie no pun intended
This movie ain't that bad, it is pretty funny and outrageous.
It was fun movie :D
You have strucked Hercules!
He smacked a bear...
Red Eye sounds totesadorbs with his mancold
The horror. The horror.
It’s an entertaining terrible fantasy adventure movie that I recall being reviewed on Cinematic Excrement.
Thank you Redeye, i never even knew of this exquisite movies existence.
I love the Greek music 😂
This is the best movie I ever never saw!!!
as worst as the miami connection dude!
Arnold was 22? Damn those are some good genes.
Arnold wasnt trying because it would be dubbed
Greatest movie ever
You should dub this movie with your own voice. As sarcastically as possible. Then maybe, just maybe, I will watch it.
Samson? From the bible?
Wanna know something fucked up...I worked at a printing press as a teen..first full time job...those giant rolls of paper over over 3000lbs each...I watched a dude get crushed to death by one when he messed up in a forklift and hit the stack...he jumped out and tried to run..but the roll banged off the forklift Cage and landed on him...the presses were so loud you couldn't hear it..but I saw his arm fling across the factory floor cause the roll crushed him and pinched it off... I quit the next day...9.50 an hour for that crap
A kitten it was a puppy Lenny crushed
Arnold Schwarzenegga!
Get well buddy
Not true, he made fun of it and his performance many times
He wasn't all that difficult to understand . His accent wws super thick , but I could understand him just fine
He sounded more 'special'
I'm sure him and his 900 billion dollars are ok if we watch it
