  • The 2022 Civic SI is a great car. This customer wanted a slight 2" drop on his car and decided to go with lowering springs. The springs ended up making clunking and squeaking noises and gave a pretty uncomfortable ride for the owner. He decided to try out a set of Silver's Coilovers. He was impressed with the ride quality and handling all while maintaining "A better ride quality than the factory setup"

This SI wasn't really designed to go stupid fast in a straight line, rather it shines with its handling, clean design, quality of life features, and overall just enjoyment in driving the vehichle rather than trying to build a racecar.

Does the coil over kit include or require camber kit?

Super clean. Love that the customer didn't want it slammed and stanced.... just a nice 1.5" drop from the looks of it. How's the comfort and handling compared to stock?

The customer said it was more comfortable than stock with the coilovers set about halfway between stiff and soft but still handled much better than the stock suspension!

2022 si bagged and I’m starting to get the same clunking noise. Any idea what was the cause of this ?

so, it looked like the owner added 2" lower(ing) springs, but didn't change to a sport damper. The OE dampers were outside their operating range, despite being new (low miles). They could not cope w/the lower shaft height and increased spring rate...no wonder it gave him an uncomfortable ride. Did you discover what was causing the clunking sound? Swaybar endlink? misaligned spring? improperly tightened strut/top hat nut?

The progressive part of the aftermarket springs were completely collapsed, the sound came from the rubbing the last two turns of the spring metal vs metal now the ride is smooth.

I had such a bad rattle over bumps with these I had to take them out. Really wish it wasn’t that was but could never figure it out. End links were tight, preload was properly set. I ran out of ideas

Do you face any rubbing with these coilovers? Thanks

    • @ImportImageRacing
      @ImportImageRacing  2 роки тому +2

No rubbing on this setup. The coilovers themselves won't cause rubbing. Whether or not you rub will be completely dependent on wheel and tire choice the lower you go the more likely you are to rub, but this will normally be more common with wider wheels and tires. I would suggest looking around in the Honda Civic pages and forums to see what other owners have been using to find the best setup for your build. Hope this helps! 🙂

the SI is a specific kit. If you have a 22+ civic(non si) you want the kit below.

The new si looks great just wish it had more power to compete with the likes of gti and wrx. I know it's slightly cheaper but not enough to justify the lack of power

It needs 250 hp and then it’s perfect. It’s still sweet with 200 but definitely could use more

    • @TeoPooks

If they do decide to give it more hp the cost would go up. And no one should pay for a civic with less than 300hp for 30k unless it’s a type r with lots of features. US based version already sucks since we don’t have wireless charger, front and rear detection and fog lights and heated seats all throughout. I agree with you but thats what makes Honda great with tuning

@@TeoPooks your comment doesn’t make sense. “no one should pay for a civic with less than 300 hp for 30k unless it’s a type R” - Type R has over 300 hp and costs 40k.

Hondata has already released a safe 250hp tune for it. Anything over 260hp supposedly makes the OEM clutch slip like hell. There are people saying with performance clutch & small upgrades the motor is likely able to do 290-300hp easily on factory turbo.

Damn, people call the new WRX a Civic and now the Civic is being called a Camry. So what do you call a Camry then because they look nothing alike?
