- More than 100,000 people have been evacuated in Russia and Kazakhstan area due to flooding.
The worse than usual seasonal floods have been caused by melting snow.
The Kremlin has warned that water levels in some areas are rising faster than at any time in the last 100 years.

Typical BBC, just tell the truth, this is caused by a breach of badly build and maintained dams.
Earlier they said that the builder of the dam blamed rodents for chewing a hole in the dam, and so the water just rushed into this small hole and breached the whole dam.

More. the initial blame from the builder was actually on local residents who, the builder said, were stealing sand/gravel from the dam. I doubt though that locals would drive kilometers to the center of the dam to load on the sand.
