Walker was good but it wasn’t a show without Trivette. You made us laugh when it was funny, but when you were serious about something we were in it with you! When we watched Walker, Texas Ranger, you made it feel like you were our partner too, and your passing makes it hurts that much more …. Thank you for making my childhood memorable. Rest In Peace with The Lord Clarence Gilyard Jr.
I remember a scene where they were in a vehicle on a stakeout, and Trivette was reading one of Chuck Norris' books. Trivette misquoted the number of years Chuck was champion, and Walker corrected him. 😁
It's that kind of self-effacing, unselfconscious and having fun with it writing that made the show special and the characters of Walker and Trivette and their on screen (and I would imagine off screen) friendship so much fun and endearing.
Reminds me of one of the Dirty Harry movies where Harry drove past a theater playing a Clint Eastwood western!
@@consciousgentile5141 I never saw that but it sounds wonderful!
@@erik1836 Dirty Harry:
"At around ten minutes) In the bank robbery scene, Harry enters a burger joint across the street from the bank. Around the corner from the burger joint, the viewer can see a movie theatre marquee that lists Play Misty for Me (1971). Clint Eastwood starred in and directed that movie, which was the first theatrical movie directed by Eastwood."
😄
Here is the video clip you are referencing.

Walker and Trivette are truly one of the greatest duos in tv and movie history! The chemistry these two guys were very real and genuine and they were both truly equals, although Walker of course has more superior range of fighting skills than Jimmy, Jimmy can definitely hold his own in fights and didn't need Walker to rescue him. That trash reboot could never touch this!
Exactly 💯 walker and Trivette were the only two heroes before Gage and Cooke
So true. Walker and and trivette were the best duo you could ask for. Gage and Sidney and Trent and Carlos were all great to have on the show as well. Even the guest stars and villains on here were all a great pick to have on the show. The reboot can never touch or replace the originals. It's a series you never get tired of.
I like Jared Padalecki, but NOT as Walker but Supernatural definitely
R.I.P. trivette..such a great actor
What?! Oh no....I didn't know
@@memerichardson104 yea he passed away back in 2022
A lot of stars we lost in 22
RIP Clarence Gilyard Jr, forever Ranger Trivette.
Poor Trivette. A lamb walking to the slaughter with a smile.
It is fun to watch the commaraderie between the two and impossible to not see that they genuinely like each other.
True
I met Chuck Norris when i was 18 at an international tournament in Long Beach. He was handing out trophies and congratulating the winners. I was so in awe when he gave me my 3rd place trophy. I will never forget how hard and muscular his hand and arms were, and how really friendly he was. He was a real full contact fighter, unlike many of the other actors in Hollywood.
🤣
@@josephbeach6046 Shut up. I own you.
@@franciscopuentes6049 🤣
Chuck Norris was a competitive world karate champion from 1964 to 1974 undefeated
@@franciscopuentes6049 lol
Clarence Gilyard is an amazing human being.
R.I.P. Clarence Gilyard, thanks for all the fun ❤️
This scene always made me laugh. Trivette getting his bum handed to him
I love the way he at first didn’t wanna wear the headgear because he knew he could’ve killed the man any chance but he was too humble To make the guy feel stupid so he wore it too
"Lets do national rules" 🤣
This scene actually shows how ahead of his time Chuck Norris was with regards to Martial Arts. In this clip we see “International Rules” Kicks to the leg (Muay Thai). Boxing, and American Kickboxing (Full Contact Karate). Trevette shoots a double leg take down on Walker (Wresteling), Walker submits him with a Kimura from locked guard, then runs through and arm bar and a triangle choke (Jiu-Jitsu) This fight has all the elements of modern MMA on a TV show that aired around the same time as UFC 1.
Chuck Norris and Dan Inosanto were doing BJJ long before the UFC
The Kimura lock was actually from his training in judo. He studied it during his time in the airforce, and kept practicing afterwards
@@Randoman BJJ stands for Basically Just Judo :P
@@jkdguru yeah, it's judo without the fun parts
@@jkdguruno I disagree, BJJ stands for breaking limbs, body parts and putting you in submission and lights out if needed and hope you don't get 1st hand experience😮🤪😱🤕
RIP Clarence Gilyard Jr. it really hits home when you watched this show all your life. You and Chuck made this show what it is today hope you watching the reruns in heaven with our Lord and Savior
Trivette knew that he didn’t stand a chance but went in there anyway just for fun.
He thought he did at wrestling.
I'm a big fan of Walker ,Texas Ranger .Greetings from Germany.🙋🇩🇪🤩💞👏👏
Are you really from Germany or is this a spam? Why don't you speak in German? Prove your authenticity as a German citizen.
@@mohrgesina8556 Okay then! I stand corrected.
Hallo. Ich spreche eine kleine Deutsch, doch ich komme aus Texas. Und deine Englisch ist sehr gut. ^_^
The gold old times when this show was a regular in German TV...
Walker loves toying with his partner Trivette
That must have been a really fun scene to film.
Trivette: Why did you kick me in the head?
Walker: Because the national rules don't allow me to kick you in the leg!
The rapport between Walker and Trivette was so easy from the very beginning. There was no open hostility or mistrust. That's the way to grow a partnership in a professional environment.
Luv it. When I met Chuck many yrs ago he was doing a meet & greet @ some building (where I don't remember) & Showtime Cable was sponsoring it but it ran over cuz so many ppl came (we stood in line for 5 + hrs & was worth it) the line wrapped around the building so it ran over & he couldn't do his workout event where u show ppl but still meeting him was so worth it. He's such a really nice down to earth person
This was a hilarious clip! RIP Clarence Gilyard, Jr.
Ok Trivete deserves some credit for how many times he dodged Walker.
When they started talking about leg kicks I was like ohhh nooo. He's not going to be able to walk right for 2 weeks.
Right. I trained in martial arts for about 20 years and in sparring I often took leg kicks or kicks to the shin and I can tell you that they hurt like hell.
Clarence Gilyard was awesome. Rest in Peace, Sir.
Superman wears Chuck Norris PJs!!!
“Over the hill!” My butt! 😤
Probably my favorite duo from my childhood shows. RIP Trivette😢
These two are friends in real life I heard both good guys!
This was so funny. Trivette thought he was gonna get Walker. Walker a step ahead everytime. 😂
The leg kicks were spot on really funny how this show nailed it. Kicks to the leg often decimate people that have never felt them before. This was very good display of grapple for really anything hollywood. Scene really impressed me. It did have some cheese, but overall quite good. Norris definitely understands Mixed martial arts obviously most fans of his know this.
I'm a big fan but he actually used a body double a good bit because of age like when he was throwing those high kicks I bet that was a double.
@@shawnsmith2610 you could tell it was a double.
i had the honor and pleasure of meeting Chuck Norris two years ago and the Man is very humble. still to this day when they ask him about Bruce lee death he chocks up a little you can tell they were friends. in Bruce Lee writings and few interviews he said he saw Chuck Norris as one of the best Kickers in Martial Arts and wanted to to be taught by him. in the whole conversation i had with Norris not once did he try and belittle Bruce lee or show off.
For sure. Chuck was way before his time. He trained with the Gracies in BJJ way before it became popular.
Offcourse Chuck knows mixed martial arts, remember chuck norris learned brazilian jiujitsu from the Machado family who are connected with the Gracie family. Chuck is now a 3rd dan blackbelt in brazilian jiujitsu.
R.I.P. Trivette.
One of the only demos of BJJ I’ve ever seen in tv lol
Because Chuck Noris has a black belt in BJJ from one of the Machado brothers, I believe it's Carlos.
@@jdog4303 yeah, he’s friends with the family. He even bought one of them a gym in a busy part of california lol
Only a true friend could teach you a lesson like that.
Rip from Clarence Gilyard JR. God bless you.
That kimura was just beautiful.
“Let’s do national rules” 😂😂😂
How I love these episodes...
One of my favorite and most hilarious scenes in the show
I love this show
Did anyone else notice the guy he borrowed the protective gear from was Carlos, which is Chuck's actual birth name Carlos Ray
Chuck's combo kicks 👏👏👏👏
Sure glad Trivett took it easy on Walker. God knows how bad he could've been hurt.
I agree,Walker was lucky to survive that encounter,I can't imagine the damage he would have sustained if Trivette had not held back.
😂😂😂😂
Poor Trivette, he actually dodged those fast kicks to the head real well
One of the best martial artist in the world
I'm really jealous that Walker got to be in there with him
This scene is truly funny. It shows that at the beginning that Trivette only knew boxing, wrestling and brawling where as Walker knew boxing, wrestling, brawling, kickboxing, karate, judo, and BJJ.
It was obvious who had the superior fighting skill.
Chuck Norris is as legit as they come with martial artists though
Chuck doesnt have to know anything , hes chuck Norris
It showed me that Trivette didnt know any fighting style.
@@hectorrivera6624 He’s not a bad fighter it’s just that it’s Chuck Norris.
@@hectorrivera6624 I'm afraid you're wrong. Trivette even stated that he use to wrestle and he was state champion. And in some of the later episodes Walker even told someone that Trivette use to box. I made several comments about Trivette's fighting style and it has a variety of kicks, judo throws, and some trapping.
Chuck Norris: kicks
Trivette: Damn that hurt😁
i grew up watching Walker , what an amazing show it was back then :D
Good thing they were friends. Chuck allowed him to live..... :-)
A really great fighter both on stage and in real life 👏👏
This scene was pretty funny at the end as I recall. The look on Walker’s face was funny. He was like, Well? Anything else?” 🤣🤣🤣 Jimmy must have felt pretty humbled at the end of that
Much to learn, you still have, young paduan.
I love this show and I don't remember this episode... That was awesome!!
That spinning elbow wasn't legal anywhere lol.
Chuck Norris went into a burger King asked for a big Mac.............. and got it!
😂🤣😂🤣😂👍👍👍

Good actor and great showman Clarence Gilyard JR. Rip.
Stunt double, come on Chuck-you the man!
love this scene :D
what a duo :D
A la Starsky & Hutch....but Texas Style!!
Chuck -VS- Chucky(Child's Play) would have been a pay per view extravaganza!
Wow...old school kickboxing and bjj is a heck of a combo
Chuck Norris doesn't wear head gear. Head gear wears Chuck Norris.
I love the serie 🤟🤟
Patience, my son. You are a good fighter but there is still much to learn
Yep. Especially when there were a few episodes that Trivette either got knocked out or had trouble with martial art fighters. Even though he fought three Yakuza fighters and defeated them on The Tiger's Eye, on the episode Money Train a ninja fighter managed to knock him out and on The Dragon's Heart the Chinese fighter gave him a run for his money if not been for Walker's assistance. It was at that point Trivette told Walker that he needs to start learning from him so he won't go through with the same situation.
@@cedricwashington9087 matter how good you are, there's still someone who can take you to school
They should have ended the scene with Walker saying to Trivette, "thanks for taking it easy on me."
My favorite episode of second season
Trivette last words were "fine by me" after being obliterated into nothing after walker's soft kick to the leg
Chuck is a bad ass.
Great
Rip trivette....you were a legendary
I think I'm gonna cry
Kicks like a magician
THE MAN #chucknorris 💪🏼🥋👊🏼
Haven’t seen this scene before but it sure was funny!
My favorite episode season 2
Trivet regularly kicks criminals asses. The way walker took him out shows the high level of skills he had.
I can say this about Trivette's fighting skill. If you have noticed during the later seasons, Trivette has shown a lot of improvement and what I've noticed is that several other techniques were added to his arsenal. One of them were Judo throws. There have been times he would add hip and arm throws against his opponents. Another has been trapping. On the episode The Black Dragons, when Trivette went against one of the Dragons, he managed to grab and hold his leg while attacking so he could take the opponent out. And finally kicks. In the earlier seasons Trivette rarely threw any kicks but later the following ones that have been thrown are the following: front, back, side, push, roundhouse, body, and finally what seems to be his favorite leg kicks.
@@cedricwashington9087Walker taught him a bit by the later episodes.
@@dtyodellervery true.
Walker is an amazing martial artist and rip trivete
Coś pięknego 😁♥️
Walker was kickboxing champion...
Makes you wonder if Norris actually did this scene or if he had a double perform it
He was younger still back then but now I don't think he could do it
I think the reason for the headgear was so that we couldn't tell it was a stunt double. Chuck is good, but I doubt he was that fast and able to get airborne at his age when the show was filmed.
Definitely a stunt double
@@thomasawylie You don't THINK? He's over 80 now!
He seems to have done most of it save for the 'national rules' section, which was all a stunt double.
Trivette was pretty ripped tho!!
Looked like Sugar Ray
😂😂😂 he was not the one that performs high kicks and you see carlos in and out the ring at the same time !! 😂
Good example as to how age means nothing; but experience and strategy means everything.
I have watched this scene a few times since seeing it on tv, I laugh every time. I noticed that the protective gear is Century brand which Chuck did print ads in the 1980s.
As Rambo once said,
'Let it go or I'll give you a world of hurt you won't believe.'
Trivette got him with that wrestling takedown and that was literally the only thing he was able to do to Walker
A takedown doesn't faze a guy who's an accomplished ground fighter..
Nope
C'est bien
Night of the gladiator
Use thumbless grips on that Kimura, Walker.
2:51 choreography gone wrong. Norris misjugdged the distance and landed a real elbow instead of a spinning back fist ( ! )
Trevett and Walker remind me of Andy and Barney because of their chemistry.
Trivette 🏈 🥊🥊🎖
Walker asked Trivette to take it easy on him, Walker never said anything about Walker taking it easy on Trivette! 😆 😉
Chuck May Be Old But I Wouldn't Want Him Pissed Off At Me.
Hey don't forget Clarence gilyard was a badass too
