WHW Day 4 Bridge of Orchy to Kingshouse

July 3, 2024. Our first wet day hiking the West Highland Way from Bridge of Orchy to Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe. The misty, rainy weather made for a perfect crossing of Rannoch Moor - adding character to the bleak and barren landscape. Inveroran Hotel was only a short 2.5 miles from BoO, so no break needed. Beyond that, not much shelter other than Ba Bridge on the Moor. Kingshouse was welcoming, especially as the rain started to lift and a few glimmers of sunshine peaked out to highlight Buachaille Etive Mòr, gorgeous. Total distance for the day was 12.54 miles with an elevation gain of 3077 feet, though this felt on the high side, probably closer to 2500 feet.
