In this episode I sculpt a serious threat for the table. This is how you can take scrap XPS foam, utility knife, and some hot glue to create a massive earth elemental or stone golem miniature.

One can get so much mileage out of your "slice, twist" technique with the knife to get incredible looking stone. I can't imagine ever bothering with wet work like clay or casting when you can do this and get instant results.

THANK YOU so much for such a fantastic, easy to follow and build-yourself tutorial video. I have wanted to make something like this for a long time, just for fun, but didn't think to use foam, thinking wire and milliput would have to do instead. This is something I can do all day now, making a "small" army of these creatures, from all the pieces of foam I have left after building terrain. I already have ideas for both "male" & "female" figures, which are making me laugh before I even get started.
I've subscribed to your channel now, as you are so inspiring, and I'm learning some great new tips after over 40 years of model making :-)
Again, thank you for such a fun and easy to build-yourself tutorial.

Great build, you actually inspired me to build 2 golems, one made the way you made it, the other one made by picking the shape apart with my fingers, and re-glueing the little cuttings back on, making him look like a mound of tiny boulders. "They looks like such big, good, strong hands don't they?"
Sorry, I tried to resist but in the end I couldn't help it; I had to add one appropriate quote. In all seriousness though, I've seen a lot of homemade miniatures and this is hands down one of the coolest. You could really go crazy with the paint job and the kinds of things you could add on as extras; given the diversity of environments/terrain and greenery, you could make a whole bunch of these and none of them would have to look the same color-wise (I think we all know already that its unlikely they'd look the same in shape and form, and that's part of what makes them cool).

Cool build, but i used 1cm thin sheets of cork when i created mine, to better simulate the sedimented rocks, i thnk they give a better and more natural look to the earth golem, instead of boulders, and sice mine was an orc construct for the head i put a plastic bit of a orc standard bearer cow head wirh horns, to simulate a ritual mask for the golem

I suggest investing in slice proof gloves
    Slice proof
    not stab proof
So some care is still needed
    For a stone golem
Could you use your baking soda super glue combo but with sand mixed in to hide the seams between the pieces?
I get ideas from videos like these.
