Davarman Aside from Tony Stark's character, nothing really stood out for me in regards to Iron Man 1. Iron Man 3 however had a great story, a great villain, a great twist and a great emotional centre. But hey if you prefer Iron Man 1 to Iron Man 3, that's cool. I hope we can agree that both are better than that piece of shit, Iron Man 2.
Straight White Cis Male Oppressive Shitlord Don't get me wrong, I love all the Iron Man movies, but I actually think they get progressively worse. I do think they are all good though.
Davarman Ah fair enough. I just thought that Iron Man 2 was too much of a commercial for The Avengers, as well as being too comedic for the story that it was given for it to really leave any impact nor did it make me think about anything.

Mine would be: Action- Kingsman The Secret Service: It's pretty new but the action in that movie is marvelous and Matthew Vaughn has become one of my favorite directors. Adventure-Life of Pi: I don't know if this couts but eh. This movie is amazingly looking, I watched it in IMAX 3D and the story is really ambiguous but great. Animation (Alex didn't use this one for some reason)- Inside Out: It's charming, it's sweet and I know it's pretty fucking new but I don't care. The animation is brilliant, even better than Forzen's or HTTYD's. And Joy is now one of my favorite female characters. Comedy- The Brekafast Club: I don't really know where this movie would really fit in so I decided to put it in here. The characters and the setup is timeless, the scenes are iconic and the dialogue is pretty well-written. Crime & Gangster- Pulp Fiction: (what Alex said) Drama- The Truman Show- Jim Carrey really shines in this movie and since it doesn't make you laugh that much and the dillemas in Truman's life are outstanding, I consider it a drama. Epic- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: People will kill me for this. Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins is just fantastic and the pacing is excellent. Historical- The Social Network: Great way of potraying Mark Zuckerberg, great performances by Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield and it has great writing Horror- The Shining: Superb way of potraying the psyche of a derranged man who feels underaprreciated. Musical: Les Miserables (2012): The actors sing great in this movie, the scenery and story are timeless and I just love it. Dance: I haven't seen any dance movies that I remember (just that boring stupid Footloose remake) Science Fiction: Back to The Future- It's iconic, the characters are likable and the plot is great. War: Inglorious Basterds- My favorite movie of all time. Hands down. The characters are great, the acting is great, it has drama, it has comedy. It's Tarantino's magnum opus. Westerns: Django Unchained- I don't really like Westerns. They are a bit too boring. That's why Part III is my least favorite of the BttF trilogy. But Django is a really gritty styllized movie. Tarantino has done better though.
Action: Die Hard (1988) Adventure: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Comedy: Dumb & Dumber (1994) Crime and Gangster: Pulp Fiction (1994) Drama: The Godfather (1972) Horror: Psycho (1960) Musical & Dance: Fantasia (1940) Science Fiction: Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) War: Saving Private Ryan (1998) Western: Django Unchained (2012) My Honorable Mention Genres: Superhero: Batman (1989) Animated: WALL•E (2008) Fantasy: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) Romance: Y'Tu Mama Tambien (2001)

This is always a hard thing to list when you watch as many movies as I do. But I guess I'll _try._ Action - Don't watch tons of straight up Action films, but I'll split hairs with the sci-fi genre and say Terminator 2, namely because I have another choice for that genre anyway. Adventure - Superhero films count as adventure movies, right? If so, Tim Burton's Batman. Shut up, comic nerds. It's my list and I love that movie. :< Comedy - Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the Bomb. Easily one of my top Kubrick films, and one of the best dark comedies/satires ever written. Crime & Gangster - Part of me wants to troll and say "Gozu" (It does have a Yakuza boss innit, granted one that's terrified of poodles and dies with a ladle up his ass, but still...) but I'll be serious and say Johnny Dangerously. Okay, in _all_ seriousness, Goodfellas. (If you can't tell, I don't watch tons of these either.) Drama - Sympathy for Lady Vengeance Historical/Epics - Throne of Blood. It's MacBeth, but with Samurai. How can you go wrong with that? Horror - This is the hardest one to pick from as it is my favourite genre. But uhm... hrm...... the answer is, wait, no...... Maybe? Nah... Oh I got it! David Cronenberg. Yes, I'm aware that's not an individual film but a person. But all my most favourite horror films seem to be by Mr. Cronenberg, so in my book he owns the genre. Musical/Dance - Pink Floyd: The Wall. And if anyone says it doesn't count because no one breaks out into song or dance, I will break their face. I am tired of hearing people say The Wall doesn't count as a musical. The movie has barely any dialogue and the narration is provided entirely through the visuals and _the goddamned music._ Therefore, it counts. Science Fiction - Blade Runner. I actually kind of hated the film the first time I saw it, from its stupid narration (Which I now know isn't meant to be there) to the many places it fucks up in adapting Phillip K. Dick's excellent _Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?_ but over time it grew on me. Not only did I realize that despite the changes it makes to the book, it still ultimately understands the books _message_ (Well, the main message anyway. All the religious stuff was stripped out of the film.) and the world it creates is fascinating and awesomely well crafted, and on a technical level the film is still a marvel of great direction and imaginative art direction. War - Come and See. It's NOT a movie for everyone, in fact when I hear you say "I have a hard time watching them" then I can say right now this is one of the hardest to watch. But it's an incredibly well made movie and extremely powerful. Westerns - I haven't seen enough Westerns to really judge fairly, but I suppose I'll go with The Good, The Bad, and The Weird. I don't care that it was both made and set in the East (Korea, to be specific.), it's a damned Western. And no, I sadly have yet to see the film its name is a spoof on. But I love that film. It's funny, stylish, and just plain fun.

Action - Die Hard (the franchise is a joke now, but the first one was amazing) Adventure - Lord of the Rings Comedy - Ghost Busters Crime - Goodfellas Drama - Shawshank Redemption Epic/Historical - Apocalypto Horror - The Fly (1986) Musical - Rocky Horror Picture Show Sci-Fi - The Fly (1986) Superhero/Comic Book - Robocop War - Full Metal Jacket Western - Blazing Saddles (other than this movie, I hate westerns)

Also, what would be your favourite Epic/Historical considering you left it out?
+Straight White Cis Male Oppressive Shitlord The Prince of Egypt IS awesome :D Also Iron Man 1> Iron man 3
Davarman Aside from Tony Stark's character, nothing really stood out for me in regards to Iron Man 1.
Action: Robocop
Adventure: Jurassic Park

Mine would be:
Action- Kingsman The Secret Service: It's pretty new but the action in that movie is marvelous and Matthew Vaughn has become one of my favorite directors.
Crime & Gangster- Pulp Fiction: (what Alex said)
Drama- The Truman Show- Jim Carrey really shines in this movie and since it doesn't make you laugh that much and the dillemas in Truman's life are outstanding, I consider it a drama.
Epic- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: People will kill me for this. Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins is just fantastic and the pacing is excellent.
Historical- The Social Network: Great way of potraying Mark Zuckerberg, great performances by Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield and it has great writing
Horror- The Shining: Superb way of potraying the psyche of a derranged man who feels underaprreciated.
Musical: Les Miserables (2012): The actors sing great in this movie, the scenery and story are timeless and I just love it.
Dance: I haven't seen any dance movies that I remember (just that boring stupid Footloose remake)
Science Fiction: Back to The Future- It's iconic, the characters are likable and the plot is great.
Star wars 4 ever
Little Shop of Horror with Rick Moranis is my favorite musical of all time.
Action: Die Hard (1988)
Adventure: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Comedy: Dumb & Dumber (1994)
Crime and Gangster: Pulp Fiction (1994)
Drama: The Godfather (1972)
Horror: Psycho (1960)
Musical & Dance: Fantasia (1940)
Science Fiction: Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

crime: pulp fiction
drama: taxi driver
horror: alien
musical: west side story
si-fi: 2001: a space odyssey
war: grave of the fireflies
fantasy: fellowship of the ring
thriller: rear window
This is always a hard thing to list when you watch as many movies as I do. But I guess I'll _try._
Action - Don't watch tons of straight up Action films, but I'll split hairs with the sci-fi genre and say Terminator 2, namely because I have another choice for that genre anyway.
Adventure - Superhero films count as adventure movies, right? If so, Tim Burton's Batman. Shut up, comic nerds. It's my list and I love that movie. :<
Comedy - Dr.
(If you can't tell, I don't watch tons of these either.)
Drama - Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Historical/Epics - Throne of Blood.
Inp like how you say yoda, yoder
Yay for Brits and Aussies. They all talk like that.
James/IHE Blab - What would you consider your 'sense of humour'? I know Alex has said his is messed up but never really went in on why.

Drama: 8 MIle
Historical: Braveheart
Horror: I don't really watch Horrors, so I skip that one
Musical: Les Misérables
Science-Fiction: Self/less

hey
mad max 4 is no where near one of the best action movies, wtf
Still pretty good tho, when compared to other lesser action movies around the time it came out (cough cough fast & furious 7 cough)
DarknessViper99 true but it is def the most overated movie of the year
+Kamikazi Lucas Whereas I say FF7 was perhaps the most overhyped, tho I do agree that some parts in mad max were disappointing like how Max was pretty much a backseat protagonist compared to furiosa and immortan joe's fate, but I give it a 9/10.
DarknessViper99 cant say anything about ff7 cause i havent seen it, but i will probably give mad max 4 a 7.9/10
Would you perhaps say that it's ... mediocre?
