Very nice review. You hit on all the key listening areas. You mentioned Naim as a possible pairing. Would the 5si be enough or would I need to jump to the XS3?
I'm sure you would be perfectly fine with a Naim the 5si. In terms of power, the XS3 won't give you much extra SPL. In this case its more about the quality difference. Always keep in mind naim is on the conservative side when rating power. You are on the right track with pairing, even my friend who worked for Naim for many years like Synergy with Dynaudio and so do I. However, at the end of the day it's how you like the combo.
@@Hifyed thank you for the input. If I jump to the Special 40s do I need a bit more juice even if mostly low to medium listening levels...recommendation appreciated.
good review how to do they compare to the contour 20i or the same cost wise klh 3 or revel thanks I have the older emit 20s good sound but use cheap bass drivers is it worth the upgrade
Thank you! Contour 20i will have a similar sonic signature, just improved detail, transparency etc. I would highly recommend you listen to the klh 3 as that will be quite a departure from your dynaudio.
I currently have the new Emit 30's on demo, they work very well on my Hegel h120 . I'm considering moving up to the Evoke 30's but they are substantially more expensive. With the Evoke 30's would a large part of the added cost be spent on the cabinet and better quality finish etc? I paid £1040 for my Emit 30's and the Evoke 30's are £3050 . Do you think the extra cost is worth it?
Compared to the previous emits I would say they are worth the extra cost . The cabinet etc. is nicer however the overall sound is a good step up. The only problem is I can’t say how much better it is compared to the new emits as I haven’t listened to it. I’m hoping to do a review someday.
I agree! I heard the previous models and it's amazing just did not care much for the fit and finish. I will do my best to get a set in sooner than later!
@@Hifyed I know but if it had real veneer it would be evoke (minus tapered cabinet ofc). Evoke pricing has gone mental. Emit 30 is well reviewed 50 is going to be awesomeness
@@peterwood2633 i just bought the Dynaudio emit 30's to go with my Hegel H120, personally i can look past the finish. Its good enough for me, im not prepared to pay 2x as much for a real wood veneer. The emit range is amazing value for money!
@@hclandscapes do you listen to metal or drum and bass? I always feel like dyns can handle it but other brands struggle. I bet your combo is tasty and potent! I get you on the finish, three times as much is crazy and they have so much trickle down tech
What is the difference between the Evoke 20 and 30? And can the Evoke 20 compete with the Elac Vela BS403? I've heard the Evoke 30 with Marantz Model 30 and I liked the sound. But Elac Vela are more transparent.
The evoke 30s will have more extension. I myself really like compact towers I think it gives a good balance between footprint and bass depth. It's been a long time since I listened to the 30's however from what I can remember the sound signature was the same. We have the Elac Vela coming down the pipeline. It will be interesting...In the past I always remember the dynaudios being more pinpoint, studioish sounding compared to elacs in general. Elacs have always been the more perceived open, airier sound.
@@martinmbokazi8372 It's a little tougher as you have a perfect square room. Volume-wise it's not bad for the evokes. If you can play around with speaker positioning I'm sure you can get it to work!
Thank you! It was really hard to get through the video trying to say it correctly. I have myself have been saying it Dynaaudio for 20+ years. We had to cut down over an hour of footage trying to get it right! Then we just gave up 😂
They will match well! Rega amps in general are not the most transparent which I think is the strength of this speaker. However it will bring out the dynamics, speed and other attributes of the dyns.
Bro I didn’t wanna say it but they look like they have some tisms. Im not even making fun you should see the editing I have to do to my own videos to tone down the tism.
I appreciate the "volume test low to high" portion of this review.
👍👍
Good to know these can be used in a small or a large room. I like the black high gloss finish as well! Thanks for the informative review 👍 😀 🙂
thank you! n a large room, I would consider a subwoofer. The light wood is really nice as well!
Love these reviews! I used to say dynaaudio also. Oh well great product and I honestly thought these sounded more expensive then they are.
👍👍
Guys where have you gone?!!
did you liked these more than the rubicon 2c?
It looks like you were using a Hegel amplifier to do the tests.
