I’m level 60 right now, and I can tell you. Welcome Playlist is kind of useless unless they fix the weapon upgrade system. I remember when I started playing the game, I almost gave up because of how bad weapon levelling up is in this game. You need your weapons to be good to actually be good at the game because this game is really different, you have to aim to control the recoil. You have to learn everything. It's not like cod that you will be good from day one. I drop nukes in COD lobbies, but I had to adjust to this game and now I’m actually gotten good. I think welcome should be till level 50. because by that time you will at least have your one or gun levelled up.
I really hope they'll add "social lobbies" like how most of the older Cods and Halos had since they're gutting SBMM. Most games just matchmake every time but if you find a fun lobby; you can just play against each other again.

If you get in a bad lobby for you; you can just queue again while people having fun regardless of kills (or much of) can keep going untill they get tired. I'll be very interested in this game from now on. The fastest CODs has been pretty awful, but this is an Ubisoft game. We'll see. 💀
@Sureflame i saw something something where the matchmaking in xdefiant that there is a higher chance of playing with others in your last lobby in a new lobby if you matchmake immediately after the game you just played than with completly new players
I want fun playlists but I also want an arena 24/7. I'm a sucker for sweat fest fast paced high kill lobbies. Arena is light-years better than shipment in my opinion. It's slightly bigger and has more verticality and cover but it's very similar as well.
Right now it's really fun because everybody is still learning the game. But I do think in 6 months to a little bit longer people will start seeing why skill-based matchmaking sometimes is necessary.
Absolute skill issue then because there is Absolutely a difference it's a great mix of bad and good players, COD has all the sweats EVERY single fucking match
I’m a pretty good player and I absolutely notice a difference. I’m the top 3 in 90% of matches in xdefiant (which I started playing 2 days ago) and in cod I’m always fighting for my life to be top 3 most the time and failing half the time (a game I’ve been playing for 15 years)

In my opinion, it's a connection issue, like the hits get registered way later, so if you die, all the hits that should have done damage get deleted and the enemy doesn't take damage. Becase it's crazy. I've shot a guy 8 times in the chest and he's still at 50+ HP?? But then they shoot me i don't have the time to even aim that i'm dead...
After 100 hours gameplay I can say for sure this game is a joke I was level 1 playing against max rank ttv sweats.... The hit reg is just non existing, unbalanced and absolutely broken charecters.

The people complaining about "sweats" is funny to me. Y'all don't understand that what seems way too skilled for you, is normal to a lot of us. Sweating is about ONLY using meta guns and caring so much about K/D that you refuse to play as a team. It doesn't have much to do with skill level. People seem to think only good players are "sweats", when it's nothing but a mindset.
Levels don’t matter .. i am level 70 and i trashed teams with level 140+ players .. and i got destroyed by ppl with lower levels… Ur skills are what matters and if you can’t find an easy target then you are the easy target my friend.. We’ve been there in the trenches of MW1/2/3 BO/1/2 etc and none of them had SBMMBS, we still enjoyed the game and had the most fun .. GET GUD

I read a lot of these comments and it honestly makes me laugh. I have a skill rating of about 3900 with like a 1.7 kd and a 10:1 win loss ratio and I play by myself a lot. I'm 32 years old and here's the thing guys, you're either good at video games or you're not and I'm not trying to sound arrogant, it's just a fact.
What’s even worse than SBMM is TEAMBALANCING!! I have a 2.5 KD and 550 SPM and I’m a level 20 and I get the whole make a wish foundation organization on my team, every single game, playing against a bunch of level 50’s. Some absolute bullshit.
I wouldn't hate skill based match making it makes sense when I was playing call of duty a lot i was always doing great even if i lost i always got a lot of kills or did well i haven't played in years i just tried the game for the first time since then and skill based match making makes sense the only people that don't like it is just people that wants to go up against new players while new players struggle to actually get kills or help out because there going up against people that plays all day long every day i think it should be an option to to turn it on or off
I respectfully disagree, I downloaded the game earlier just trying to get a feel for it and figure things out, learn the maps and learn the skills/characters etc and I played 3 games all different modes and got dropped into lobbies of people much much higher ranked than me, that had all the different weapons and attachments unlocked and I couldn't get 3-4 bullets on someone because my basic starter weapon with nothing on it, no sights, nothing couldn't touch their fully grinded load outs. I have played every call of duty back to the original few that weren't even online, and most other major shooters since then and even though I was against skill based matchmaking for quite a while, I changed my mind today. Firstly because I was given no chance to just enjoy and learn the game against others that were also doing the same, instead I was thrust head first into chaos and after 3 games and frustrations of trying to get my basic gun to even get a few kills, I had enough. I was outgunned and out leveled in every lobby and it wasn't based on my skill it was solely based on the fact they were higher levels and had things that I didn't that made the game 10x easier for them and 10x more frustrating for me. I honestly think that not having at least some form of easing into the game for newer players and give people a little cushion to at least figure things out and get a little footing and at least get some stuff unlocked to be able to at least fight back, this game will die very quickly. I don't even see people playing this game in big numbers after October, it will be just yet another filler game to get people to the next COD. The old sayings "Careful what you wish for" and "the grass isn't always greener on the other side" rang out very very loudly to me today. They game has beautiful maps, good modes, it flows nice and the concept is interesting to say the least but the chaos of loading up the game for the first gun and given weapons that literally have nothing on them and being expected to try and battle against fully kitted out chads just outweighs all of that. I'd rather just play people my skill level and gradually get better over time on my own time and more importantly have fun. The only people that don't seem to like skill based matchmaking are the top 5%ers in these games that have to play the best of the best Everytime they load up a game, sorry that you are so amazing that you have to play equally talented players, but isn't that what you would want? Why would you want to be the best you can be playing against people with a third of your skill while dropping 60-100 a game? Personally if I was that good I would want to play the best. Also it always the streamers crying, their the ones who cried before that brought about what we have today, they have ruined gaming and gaming has become their hostage and these devs try to please their every desire and it has to come to a stop or more and more games will just get worse and worse.
It's always the "sweats" who are against SBMM. Dudes who play 40 hours a week want to play against those who only play five so they can get that dopamine hit. When you're a casual, every match is sweaty. No lifers deserve SBMM for every time they've said "EZ" to some dude who just wants to bang a little on the weekends. Pushing back against SBMM so idiotic, there literally is no argument for it.
Here’s the counter argument though if you have a friend or friends that are better than you than you are going to get absolutely obliterated playing with them cuz there lobbies are gonna be a lot tougher and sweaty so it basically incentivizes ppl to only play together of similar skill level which it’s stupid that’s what ranked is for. sbmm is bad. Simple as that. the only people who are angry about removing it are cheaters that abused it. By experiencing better and worse players than you, you are learning what makes you better. You have equal chance to get a better and worse lobby than you.

Love the game but it’s not a COD killer like people are saying . I feel like they are gassing it hoping COD will eliminate SBMM to compete . I hope it works though.. but the movement is stale, guns & graphics look OKAY. Gun sounds OKAY . it doesn’t need SBMM because the casual people are going to quit playing soon. It’s more of a niche type game , reminds me of rogue company except it’s first person instead of 3rd..the thing I hate the most is that I can’t ping enemies or locations for my team

Fast forward 8 hours post launch in the evening on a tuesday, it got to 3 million players.

These maps in XD are fucking huge and new. to alert your teammates most effectively and fast as possible pinging is 10x better than call-outs. There is no TDM buddy everything is objective based and team work…And I do love XDefiant.. you guys are just idiots who think any type of criticism means someone hates the game.. Ive had easily 20+ games with highest score, kills, and objective score and lost. It givith and taketh. My teammates consistently go triple negative and completely disregard the objective. Im frying while full sending obj, but at what cost. I am only one man, the lobby based matchmaking is quite annoying
They lied about no sbmm. Out of 6 matches I managed to win only one match. Opponents team are always strong, each member has higher damage & kdr. Matchmaking is predetermined & fake set to §cr3w players. I tried to invite few good players in my lobby but none of them had joined, matchmaking seems pretty colluded.
Can someone inform me on why I get connection issues ( some yellow and sometimes red icons pop up next to my ping” if I’m on a hardwired connection? It’s literally the only game that happens
My problem with it is the movement. It's way too fast and you can jump and have basically full momentum control, the problem is the sweats ABUSE this movement making it terrible to go up against. Its not even a skill issue, its genuinely just not fun to fight someone literally flying left to right at ungodly speeds 😂
the only down side is the cheaters ran into one cheater flying around and aim botting everything in sight TWICE, SAME GUY and to top it off the second time half way through the match another guy on the other team turn on all of his cheats.
If they are lvl 50, ppl in enemy team are also in lvl 50 range. Brother, they got lvl based matchmaking, we‘ll see if it does better in the long run for the players and also for the company. It’s a matter of what Bo6 will be like.
Then explain to me why every game I play, the highest level player on my team is around level 30 and lowest is between 5-15, while the enemy have 3+ players at level 50+ and the lowest are around 20…

My main issue with XDefiant is the lack of skill-based matchmaking. Some of you might enjoy dominating casual players who just want to relax after a long day, but I prefer an even match. Without balanced matchmaking, the game becomes incredibly dull for me.
They could balance this out with ranked inherently being sbmm. I love a good mess about to keep things less sweaty, but sometimes I wanna play with people similar to me to keep things less stompy.
@xCoNa14 yea, I suppose it doesn't really matter for casual modes. It just doesn't sit right with me just beating down lesser players. I've played many shooters and take competitive super seriously. So at the moment when I load up a match in xdefiant it's not fun for me or fun for the enemy all it is, is me stomping the lobby I barely feel any resistance and the enemy barely gets to play the game. I'll never understand why people dislike sbmm it prevents stuff like this from happening.
@@JustADadsValorantAcademy I don't mind it too much, since I'm not terrible at shooters, but the people at the bottom will eventually leave until there's only grass deficient no-lifers left. The biggest issue I have at the moment is that they definitely don't prioritise connection compatibility, as I'm often in lobbies with 15ms ping players whilst I'm on 80+, despite having good internet. Having a 50ms advantage or more can turn a basic player into a future dwelling God that can kill you before you even see them.

I regret to say this but even with zero skill-based matchmaking on a small map with too many players leads to constant back shooting. Even the best players can't achieve 70 kills without dying 50 times. There are simple solutions, and I believe they will implement them since many people share this concern.
They need to put a filter option so we can play "console players only" so people like me who don't wanna play with PC sweats don't have to💯 love it or hate it but that's just my opinion🤷
The real problem with fps now is theres too many variables and movement techs that makes the gap too wide between new players and experienced ones. They need to go back to more simple Games guns setups etc.
100% agree. Running around like you just smoked a pound of crack is meh, and things like operator skills. Preferred the days of CoD 4 and MW2 when it was 100% about gun skill and map knowledge.

I don’t care if SBMM is in an FPS game or not. Literally been playing shooters since CoD World at War and remember those lobbies being sweaty as fk. I can’t remember a game that hasn’t been sweaty. 🤔 Xdefiant is sweaty too,…but I don’t give AF because it’s a damn game. I have fun if I suck and if I do well. There’s always laughs to be had.
The are way more problems with sbmm and the other algos in cod. From health and bullet damage manipulation, depending on who you are facing, if you killed them many times before, etc You might empty a full clip on a guy, only for him to shoot you once in the foot and you die, because your health has been temporarly lowered, your weapon damage as well, and with the enemy it happened the other way around. The in real time manipulation of matches like Fifa handicap does, when you are doing really well and all of a sudden, mid game or a bit further, you can't kill anyone and the other team atarts coming back more and more, to simulate a competitive match. And one of the biggest problems with sbmm is that if you are really really good and play the obj etc. The game puts 5 guys on your team who do not play the obj at all and sometimes even sit on your original spawn and don't move from there, while the other team are playing like there is 1 million dollars on the line. It's extremely infuriating.
Game is still a sweat fest though lmao. I do pretty average but the amount of people slide cancelling, bunny hopping, and jump spamming is absurd. Thank god snipers and jump spam are getting nerfed at least.
SBMM exposes players and shows how good/bad they really are. Hutch debated xclusiveace about it and all of Ace's talking points were destroyed by Hutch. There hasn't been 1 real legit reason given against it.

I'm a 2+ KD player without sweating, so I'm very good at the game already, so its not like I'm getting stomped. There is definitely SBMM in the game, its just different than CoD's SBMM. XDefiant is just an experiement how players like different forms of SBMM until the new Black Ops releases, and then the game will be done like SplitGate.
@@daSora_1 Well test it for yourself. I did my own testing and 14+ year shooter experience with all kinds of different SBMM experience. XDefiant has 100% a form of SBMM/EOMM. The only thing is that I dont know how exactly it works yet, but it seems to be similar to Destiny 2's. I will need to play again and perhaps use second accounts to see what happens, but its 100% there. Everyone with experience and skill should feel it, so I'm surprised how many people believe its not in there just because the developers say so. They tried that "its no SBMM, players got just better" even with MW2019 until people started testing it and finding it out. I felt MW2019's SBMM instantly and called it out, and real life friends of mine didnt even believe it until more UA-camrs realized it 1 or 2 months later 😂
I dont mind sbmm and i dont mind random lobbies like og CoD. But sbmm aint sweaty for me. I find random lobbies to be WAY MORE SWEATY than when i boot up Cold War with thick sbmm. Both have pros and cons. I just wish xdefiant had better or ar least more consistent team balancing because half the games seem to be absolute stomps. One team is negative KDs and the other team will be 2 to 3 KD. This is a problem. But i understand team balancing isnt always perfect
I haven't seen a single lobby on my level 10, where I would compete with same-level players... there is half of the lobby 50+ with maxed-out weapons where you stand no chance... Xdefiant is the same shit and CoD, but it is called differently...
And, they added the "Welcome Playlist," which does have skill based matchmaking, so new players can get a feel for the game with other new players.

The no sbmm is so unfair their was two level 120+ and the rest were 60+ and no one on my team was past lvl 50

We’ve been there in the trenches of MW1/2/3 BO/1/2 etc and none of them had SBMMBS, we still enjoyed the game and had the most fun ..

I read a lot of these comments and it honestly makes me laugh. I have a skill rating of about 3900 with like a 1.7 kd and a 10:1 win loss ratio and I play by myself a lot. I'm 32 years old and here's the thing guys, you're either good at video games or you're not and I'm not trying to sound arrogant, it's just a fact.
What’s even worse than SBMM is TEAMBALANCING!! I have a 2.5 KD and 550 SPM and I’m a level 20 and I get the whole make a wish foundation organization on my team, every single game, playing against a bunch of level 50’s. Some absolute bullshit.

People confuse SBMM with EOMM (Engagement Optimized Match Making) SBMM is great, EOMM is not.
I wouldn't hate skill based match making it makes sense when I was playing call of duty a lot i was always doing great even if i lost i always got a lot of kills or did well i haven't played in years i just tried the game for the first time since then and skill based match making makes sense the only people that don't like it is just people that wants to go up against new players while new players struggle to actually get kills or help out because there going up against people that plays all day long every day i think it should be an option to to turn it on or off
Ranked has been a rage inducer with all these cupcakes that are scared to push objectives on my team
I respectfully disagree, I downloaded the game earlier just trying to get a feel for it and figure things out, learn the maps and learn the skills/characters etc and I played 3 games all different modes and got dropped into lobbies of people much much higher ranked than me, that had all the different weapons and attachments unlocked and I couldn't get 3-4 bullets on someone because my basic starter weapon with nothing on it, no sights, nothing couldn't touch their fully grinded load outs. I have played every call of duty back to the original few that weren't even online, and most other major shooters since then and even though I was against skill based matchmaking for quite a while, I changed my mind today. Firstly because I was given no chance to just enjoy and learn the game against others that were also doing the same, instead I was thrust head first into chaos and after 3 games and frustrations of trying to get my basic gun to even get a few kills, I had enough. I was outgunned and out leveled in every lobby and it wasn't based on my skill it was solely based on the fact they were higher levels and had things that I didn't that made the game 10x easier for them and 10x more frustrating for me. I honestly think that not having at least some form of easing into the game for newer players and give people a little cushion to at least figure things out and get a little footing and at least get some stuff unlocked to be able to at least fight back, this game will die very quickly. I don't even see people playing this game in big numbers after October, it will be just yet another filler game to get people to the next COD. The old sayings "Careful what you wish for" and "the grass isn't always greener on the other side" rang out very very loudly to me today. They game has beautiful maps, good modes, it flows nice and the concept is interesting to say the least but the chaos of loading up the game for the first gun and given weapons that literally have nothing on them and being expected to try and battle against fully kitted out chads just outweighs all of that. I'd rather just play people my skill level and gradually get better over time on my own time and more importantly have fun. The only people that don't seem to like skill based matchmaking are the top 5%ers in these games that have to play the best of the best Everytime they load up a game, sorry that you are so amazing that you have to play equally talented players, but isn't that what you would want? Why would you want to be the best you can be playing against people with a third of your skill while dropping 60-100 a game? Personally if I was that good I would want to play the best. Also it always the streamers crying, their the ones who cried before that brought about what we have today, they have ruined gaming and gaming has become their hostage and these devs try to please their every desire and it has to come to a stop or more and more games will just get worse and worse.

It's always the "sweats" who are against SBMM. Dudes who play 40 hours a week want to play against those who only play five so they can get that dopamine hit. When you're a casual, every match is sweaty. No lifers deserve SBMM for every time they've said "EZ" to some dude who just wants to bang a little on the weekends. Pushing back against SBMM so idiotic, there literally is no argument for it.
Here’s the counter argument though if you have a friend or friends that are better than you than you are going to get absolutely obliterated playing with them cuz there lobbies are gonna be a lot tougher and sweaty so it basically incentivizes ppl to only play together of similar skill level which it’s stupid that’s what ranked is for. Why am I heavily penalized for wanting to play with some friends that are better than me in normal pubs?

Love the game but it’s not a COD killer like people are saying . I feel like they are gassing it hoping COD will eliminate SBMM to compete . I hope it works though.. but the movement is stale, guns & graphics look OKAY. Gun sounds OKAY . it doesn’t need SBMM because the casual people are going to quit playing soon. This game will have it’s own community like rainbow 6 siege. The only thing that can kill cod, is cod. However, this game will be a success. In 2.5 hours after launch it amassed 1 million players. Fast forward 8 hours post launch in the evening on a tuesday, it got to 3 million players.

Ive had easily 20+ games with highest score, kills, and objective score and lost. It givith and taketh. My teammates consistently go triple negative and completely disregard the objective. Im frying while full sending obj, but at what cost. I am only one man, the lobby based matchmaking is quite annoying

They lied about no sbmm. Out of 6 matches I managed to win only one match. Opponents team are always strong, each member has higher damage & kdr. Matchmaking is predetermined & fake set to §cr3w players. I tried to invite few good players in my lobby but none of them had joined, matchmaking seems pretty colluded.
What they should add is a lone wolf playlist where you can’t have a full stack of sweaty players playing against solo players

My problem with it is the movement. It's way too fast and you can jump and have basically full momentum control, the problem is the sweats ABUSE this movement making it terrible to go up against. Its not even a skill issue, its genuinely just not fun to fight someone literally flying left to right at ungodly speeds 😂

My main issue with XDefiant is the lack of skill-based matchmaking. Some of you might enjoy dominating casual players who just want to relax after a long day, but I prefer an even match. Without balanced matchmaking, the game becomes incredibly dull for me.
They could balance this out with ranked inherently being sbmm.
I love a good mess about to keep things less sweaty, but sometimes I wanna play with people similar to me to keep things less stompy.
@xCoNa14 yea, I suppose it doesn't really matter for casual modes. It just doesn't sit right with me just beating down lesser players. I've played many shooters and take competitive super seriously. So at the moment when I load up a match in xdefiant it's not fun for me or fun for the enemy all it is, is me stomping the lobby I barely feel any resistance and the enemy barely gets to play the game. I'll never understand why people dislike sbmm it prevents stuff like this from happening.

The biggest issue I have at the moment is that they definitely don't prioritise connection compatibility, as I'm often in lobbies with 15ms ping players whilst I'm on 80+, despite having good internet.
Having a 50ms advantage or more can turn a basic player into a future dwelling God that can kill you before you even see them.

I regret to say this but even with zero skill-based matchmaking on a small map with too many players leads to constant back shooting. Even the best players can't achieve 70 kills without dying 50 times. There are simple solutions, and I believe they will implement them since many people share this concern.
Call of Duty is not even worth playing anymore. Xdefiant is far from perfect, but I've been happy making the switch.

I don’t care if SBMM is in an FPS game or not. Literally been playing shooters since CoD World at War and remember those lobbies being sweaty as fk. I can’t remember a game that hasn’t been sweaty. 🤔 Xdefiant is sweaty too,…but I don’t give AF because it’s a damn game. I have fun if I suck and if I do well. There’s always laughs to be had.
The are way more problems with sbmm and the other algos in cod. From health and bullet damage manipulation, depending on who you are facing, if you killed them many times before, etc You might empty a full clip on a guy, only for him to shoot you once in the foot and you die, because your health has been temporarly lowered, your weapon damage as well, and with the enemy it happened the other way around.
The in real time manipulation of matches like Fifa handicap does, when you are doing really well and all of a sudden, mid game or a bit further, you can't kill anyone and the other team atarts coming back more and more, to simulate a competitive match.
And one of the biggest problems with sbmm is that if you are really really good and play the obj etc. The game puts 5 guys on your team who do not play the obj at all and sometimes even sit on your original spawn and don't move from there, while the other team are playing like there is 1 million dollars on the line. It's extremely infuriating.

This game was pronounced as the most sweatiest "casual" game ever. This matchmaking is really bad in long run because it makes new players quit fast.
SBMM exposes players and shows how good/bad they really are. Hutch debated xclusiveace about it and all of Ace's talking points were destroyed by Hutch. There hasn't been 1 real legit reason given against it.

Also I feel like sometimes SBMM is turned off completely and then suddenly it gets ramped up. I'm a 2+ KD player without sweating, so I'm very good at the game already, so its not like I'm getting stomped. There is definitely SBMM in the game, its just different than CoD's SBMM. Remember when they said MW2019 didnt have SBMM and player "just got good" ? Yeah, I knew instantly they were talking trash there too. XDefiant is just an experiement how players like different forms of SBMM until the new Black Ops releases, and then the game will be done like SplitGate.

@@daSora_1 Well test it for yourself. I did my own testing and 14+ year shooter experience with all kinds of different SBMM experience. XDefiant has 100% a form of SBMM/EOMM. The only thing is that I dont know how exactly it works yet, but it seems to be similar to Destiny 2's. I will need to play again and perhaps use second accounts to see what happens, but its 100% there. Everyone with experience and skill should feel it, so I'm surprised how many people believe its not in there just because the developers say so. They tried that "its no SBMM, players got just better" even with MW2019 until people started testing it and finding it out. I felt MW2019's SBMM instantly and called it out, and real life friends of mine didnt even believe it until more UA-camrs realized it 1 or 2 months later 😂

I dont mind sbmm and i dont mind random lobbies like og CoD. But sbmm aint sweaty for me. I find random lobbies to be WAY MORE SWEATY than when i boot up Cold War with thick sbmm. Both have pros and cons. I just wish xdefiant had better or ar least more consistent team balancing because half the games seem to be absolute stomps. One team is negative KDs and the other team will be 2 to 3 KD. This is a problem. But i understand team balancing isnt always perfect
I haven't seen a single lobby on my level 10, where I would compete with same-level players... there is half of the lobby 50+ with maxed-out weapons where you stand no chance... Xdefiant is the same shit and CoD, but it is called differently...
