    so basically i can temporary assign the direction in which it goes (clockwise/counterclockwise) BUT because i switch it, i should know that it should be the opposite directions in which i switch it? (sorry if this sounds confusing)

    Does the atomic number have any effect on finding the biggest and lowest?

      Yes. The higher the atomic number is, the higher the ranking will be. For example, if you had a carbon atom attached to a hydrogen, oxygen, fluorine and lithium, the fluorine would be #1, oxygen #2, lithium #3, and hydrogen #4.
