There are numerous Raggedy Ann & Andy Doll patterns for sale on eBay. The patterns come in various doll sizes and facial features. It’s great to know you have taken a liking to Raggedy. The originator of the doll also wrote a series of books about Raggedy Ann and Andy. There are also different ways to do the hair. Making them is not hard and a lot of fun. If you do make a doll or two or more, please do a video about your creation(s).
The size of the cardboard depends upon the size of the doll you are making. You can find the measurements on the back of the envelope for the pattern. Here are the cardboard measurements: For a 15 inch doll you need a 10” x 14” cardboard For a 26 inch doll you need a 12“ x 18” cardboard For a 36 inch doll you need a 15“ x 28“ cardboard
I just received this kit in the mail and I am a beginner. Would you be able to let me know what materials I need to make the dolls and where to get them?
I followed the directions for materials needed on the back of the pattern envelope Simplicity 9947. I bought all my supplies from my local Joann’s Fabric store. If you are sheltering in place, you can order your supplies from Joann’s online.
The doll that I am redoing is much larger than that the head. The cardboard is 12 x 18“ that I have to wind the yarn around. It’s a big long doll that I made a whole new outfit for the hair fell out so I’m fixing the hair, but it’s a much bigger piece of cardboard than you have there.

Unfortunately I did not video the whole process. So I can’t show you the entire construction. However, the instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. The only area I felt the instructions were lacking clarity were the hair instructions.

What stitch length do you use? What needle size?
I used a universal needle size 80/12. The stitch length was 2.5
