2. She is not trained in archeology., but in areas such as philology etc which are more related to ancient Sanskrit.
3. She claims to know Sanskrit and Persian (along with Hindi/Urdu), which is fine. But both Sanskrit and Persian take years to Master and there are various types of both (Vedic Sanskrit, Old Persian etc). Even Rabindranath Tagore or Iqbal (both who knew both) did not claim mastery in either language.
4. Mediocrity can be hidden in many ways. Once you study "South Asian" studies...you become a master of everything from archeology, to religious studies, to history, to classical languages , to anthropology , philology and what not.
