It’s not even a competition, these horns wailing. It’s a glorious salute from one sister to another! Gives me shivers, these two. Long live the ships of Cunard. ❤️❤️❤️
Agree abut the sound was on top deck on 18th Sept 1989 right behind the funnel when we went into dense fog ahead of what turned out to be Hurricane Hugo ahead a friend had their video camera running nearly blasted our ear drums out ! wonderful very moving, not to put too fine a point on it, she saved the lives of all those on board! x
when i was 29 i traveled home from europe on the QE2; i was on a tour (alone) with about 20 people for about 4 weeks on land. it was a magnificent trip, and fantastic ship. i hope to do another trip, this time on the QM2.
She is a floating hotel in Dubai. We have stayed there a couple of times, and although I would much rather be on her for a transatlantic crossing, I think the owners have done a fairly good job preserving her as a hotel.

The captain of QM2 would have to admit that QE2 had the best whistle - by far!
When QE2 got that reverb going, there was no stopping that whistle. What I wouldn't give to hear it once again.....
QE2
What magnificent creations of man's skill and hard work...truly a testament to our brother's across the pond...
I was on the QE2 leaving Quebec Sep 2008 it was so sad
Miss her

What an amazing experience that must have been. I miss QE2 a lot, but what I miss most is that sound :)
The QE2 imo had the sweeter sound, not to take away thing from the QM2 which was just as magnificent!!!! Love them both!!!!!
