I’m really not sure…. The motoscan app SHOULD work with an OBD2 port as well. The round plug uses the adapter shown in the video, which converts from an OBD2.
Can you reset the throttle bodies with this app, I used to get the garage to reset every time as it made a difference to the vides from the engine, be great to do myself with this app.
The Motoscan App is primarily an OBD2 code reader. It's very thorough with the systems on the XR, but mainly for reading error codes, resetting them, and displaying real time data. The ability to program systems is beyond its scope. Motoscan.de is the developer's web site, and gives a complete rundown of the features.

No, you do not need the obdlink app for the XR. You do need the MotoScan App. You will need a 'paid for' version to cancel the Service light. The Motoscan App will connect to the Obdlink mx2... admittedely it was the 2nd try for me on the initial set up.

No, it may read some codes, but will not allow you to reset the service light.
