Figure 40 people for faculty and speakers, that leaves seating for 1180 spectators (leaving out the fact that 100% capacity is not a good idea). This means that each graduate could have 4 tickets. This would be 1120 spectators and leave a 60 person safety margin. 4 tickets per graduate is actually pretty good for graduations. However, saying "no tickets needed, first come first serve" was a recipe for a big problem.

That's it! The college didn't offer seats for graduation and I ASSUME it was a small space . Somebody made mistakes and steortyoe s abound.
