I went through Ivan when I lived in Navarre FL 2004- it was a category 3 and the destruction was catastrophic- went 12 days with no power, the amazing thing was how everyone came together to help each other.
Seeing the hurricane doesn't set my brain off as much as those tornadoes. I see those and feel fear. Maybe it's because I'm from Iowa...I've seen tornadoes but never hurricanes.
