Thank you. John Young was my uncle (my mother 's brother). Thank you for the acknowledgment.
He was very creative I'm from DC but we still recognize John Young
I’m copying my original message to the creator of this vid, but also want to pass on my appreciation and love to your uncle and family. Buffalove to you; your Uncle is our hero!
(Here’s the comment):All the love and extreme gratitude for this video from a lifelong Buffalo girl. I’ve been telling locals about this forever, and if I have anything to do with it (which I am!), this will be acknowledged by my city at some point. There are a lot of us who know that not only is Anchor Bar not the original wing place, it’s also not the best wing place in Buffalo.
Much love, fam. Again, thanks for this video! I’m totally throwing this up on my socials.
Buffalo Wings are a staple in the Black Community and in MANY eateries! Can't get enough of them😋😋😋😋
I like buffalo wings, but I don’t like the blue cheese. I just use melted cheese.
@@tawnyh8878 Mmmm that sounds GOOOD!!😋😋😋
How long have we been frying chicken? How long have we been covering up spoiled meat with spicy sauces? How long have poor people been eating less desirable cuts of meat? Buffalo wings are as old as us.
Just like oxtails! Now you can find oxtails (cow tails) at any restaurant. With that being said, oxtails use to be $1.00 per pound in the 90's, $0.50 per pound in the 80's. They are now $10.00 per pound now
The anchor bar owners thought that Mr. John Young wasn’t coming back to Buffalo. Rip King John 🙌🏾
John and Paul Young! John Young actually brought the recipe to Buffalo, NY from D.C., (Mumbo wings) but he put a bigger twist to it more kick to it! 🎉🎉🎉😊 The Anchor Bar didn't discover anything all they did is use John Young recipe, and cut the wings in half. John Young is the founder of The Buffalo Wings!
I’m from DC, so I know Mumbo chicken; and I worked at Hooter’s so I know buffalo wings
There was "Shabazz Chicken Wings" before all of them.
@@abdulsharif6541 in DC?
We are the first people of course we created everything.
Thank you John Young for your contribution as a FBA who created Chicken Wings.
Tell me something they didn’t steal.
Who are they? Say it...
@@phatgringo2.0 ask Gyasi Ross.
We all know how they stop paying crazy 😊
I wish they never stole us. But anywho, they didn’t steal Europe, which is where they should be making it great. And I should be in Africa helping make it great AGAIN. And the Americas should be left to the Real Americans aka native Americans.
I can tell u something they invented but don't claim Racism
Being from Buffalo, NY, I HAD to click on this. I know you gonna do John Young some justice.💓💪🏾
Same here!!!
Think of the anchor bar and of course how they took credit for the wings!!

Hooters, wing stop, you name owe this man, but he will never get credit from them!!😡
This video is making me hungry for some buffalo wings 😋☺️
Factssssss 😂😂
😂😂😂 Riiight??😅😅😅
Buffalo wings are so delicious!
It's amazing how hot sauce or Tobasco sauce is one important
Ingredients founded in so much
soul food over the yrs.
good looking guy with those curls
I like barbecue 😂😂😂
Wings are so expensive now!!
Buffalo wings... Thank you John Young!!
Buffalo Bills Football and wings ❤💙
Another thing *stolen".lost or denied!
Finally Hot Wings and Blue Cheese
Nearest Green (Black slave) needs a video. The real creator of Jack Daniels Whiskey. Jack Daniel's son stole the recipe from Nearest Green.
Every kid should be getting buffalo wings at the end of school term. Give back and stop 🛑 TAKING.
Before "Buffalo Wings" there was "Shabazz Chicken Wings"
The wings from both are two different worlds apart. My thing is what happened to the mumbo sauce. Mr. Young did not even need the wings. He could have been rich off the sauce alone.
this is wrong because Teressa Bellissimo created the wings in 1961, this is just hype.
Why celery? It doesn’t go with anything at all
Nope!😂😂😂 don't even match!😂😂😂 Neither do the carrot sticks some places throw in too!😂😂😂 I trash em!!😅😅😅 Just give me the wingz please 😂😂😂😂
Roughage.... Aids in digestion
Very little staple American food not made by black people.
Teach!!
Chicago have mild sauce not mambo sauce 😂
No matter what you do at a profit and success someone will find a way to copy and duplicate it. If it isn't patented someone will find a way to lay claim to it's invention. During slavery anything of value invented by a slave was taken from him and claimed by his master Wonder if any of these masters were christians. It's called human behavior.
What were some of the books or other sources for learning about this?
Like gumbo... thousands of recipes, all good or not 🤔🤬😎
😱
716 we know the real story. And we don't eat at anchor bar because of this
I like only Dumm Stick or whatever u call them. With a good ranch, not that nasty stuff.. wing-stop has best and cpk has the best..but normally I love chicken strips..
#DisneyDiva ❤
Henry Perry King of KC Barbeque deserves a video.
Super Bowl and coverage of the KC teams name on Indian Country Today got me thinking. Drop one letter and you have the KC Chefs. However a KC Chef would cook barbeque. Then I found Henry Perry the King of Barbeque... Well why not the KC Kings. It drops the insult to Indigenous people, and respects KC and Black Culture.
And The Chop... Well they're good on the grill and drop the HiYu HooHah tune and put in a good jazz or blues rhythm, Cha Cha the Blues or....
Yes contribution but not the origin...otherwise all food is just a rip off of those before them...those like yes inspired and should be credited...but not the origin, unless its a copy its not the same...by the way chefs keep their recipes at least back then close to their chest...so how did the italian american couple use it...they obviously came up with their own but in the same vein like all new recipes...and yes their italian american and werent considered white so to is their anything whites dont steal...they werent white and looks like they didnt steal anything either...
a marinade of chicken 1736 - the dictionarium domesticum by Nathan Bailey. (England) breaded and fried chicken wings more than 100 years before you started, to think that no one added sauce for 224 years is a bit much.. sorry buffalo 🤷♀
Stopped what he did in England doesn't compare to Mumble wings (DC) or Buffalo Wings because I guarantee you that it was a tasteless hot mess! What black people did to fried chicken recipes, nobody can compare! To be honest it was probably the Africans slaves in Britain who was actually cooking that fried chicken. Because British can't cook now so what make you think they could cook back then! Really Just Stop! 😅😂😂🤣🤣😙
Probably be fair to say many different people had a hand in the creation of modern chicken wings. Tho food history is honestly just very messy as who is "x inventor of x food".
yeah right...ain.t NOBODY checkin' for England cuisine my friend...save that...
The man put the wings on the map. Thanks John Young Family.
