Thanks Matt. If you continued this with a video of that house actually drawn up, you would be the only person to do so, believe me… i’ve dug deep! Hundreds of floor plan vids but none of modelling from elevations.
I purchased an earlier edition of your book which has been extremely helpful.

Glad you like my book. And thanks for the idea. This was a project I did for an architect and it was quite challenging because there were so many discrepancies. But I guess that could make for a more interesting video!

Yeah, was really hoping to see the extruding/creating of the 3d elevations from the 2d elevations. Even if it was on a different elevation.

Personally I usually delete all tags to unassigned as most auto cad organisation is an untrustworthy mess.. and I always follow the KISS principle.. similarly I hate long and arbitrary tag names so use +L00, +L01, +L02 etc for floors (short and stack sequentially) in the tag list...(the "+" prefix allows floor levels to be isolated in the tag list from construction elements eg door, wall, slab, beam etc } used this format long before tag folders were introduced ... all is based on the AIA Cad Layering guidelines using 4 letter keywords

Hello, I have actually made a 3D model with AutoCAD 2025, any chance I can import it into Sketchup for landscape and additional modelling? Thanks!
