And you can see some pokemon obliterate it when it does get out. If your a trainer, your hands are by far your greatest weapons cause your gonna need them to throw pokeballs. The pokeball automatically shuts itself tight to make the catch, so holding on to it won't affect it what so ever.

But honestly gigaton balls are amazing if you know how to use them correctly. Feed an alpha a cake, sneak up on it almost touching, then throw the poke ball with the highest catch rate in the game, 9 times out of 10 you'll get the alpha.

I actually find it interesting that you both went for strategies completely different to what I was expecting. I thought to spam mudballs or other stun items and then just gigaton ball back strike them over and over. Makes me think how I would have done in this matchup :)
This was fun to watch. I stopped playing after 3 days or so to go back to Digimon Cyber Sleuth. If I play the game like you guys did, it may make things interesting to have competitions among friends.

No paras/parsect are the worst grass types in gen 1 they have 3 4x weaknesses and don't learn and good stab, also strength does more damage than leach life to psychics. though Paras is surprisingly a good hm slave its easy to catch and learns cut and dig, so Ironically it is my most used grass type for this reason

In Fire Red/Leaf Green vastly better then Bulbasaur Line not just cause of Typing but also moveset potential. In Leaf Green that was when I decimated Sabrina's Gym with a Parasect. It was the 3rd time I played Leaf Green and decided to see if Bulbasaur got better...they got only slightly better but mainly post game due to Sludge Bomb. I attempted to sweep Sabrina's Gym with my Lvl 60 Venusaur and got destroyed by it(could sweep that Gym with Charizard or Blastoise easily). Anyway ever since Gen 2 and breeding was introduced I only ever used Pokemon I captured at Lvl 6 or less(or bred/hatched) my options where very limited; Nidoking & Nidoqueen though decent Lvl being poison type wasn't a good option, I considered Pidgeot but didn't have any Super Effective move other then Thief, Fearow same issue as Pidgeot but even worse had absolutely no Super Effective move, Raticate also didn't have a Super Effective move and it's most powerful move wasn't 100% Accurate, I was left with only 2 valid options Gyarados or Parasect. Gyarados had Bite for a Super Effective move but without Flinch Luck could be destroyed due to low-ish Defenses, so that left me with Parasect because had Spore Attack and Effect Spore ability as well as Leech Life which was Super Effective against Psychic Types and healed it's user especially when combined with Leftovers adding more healing potential.

Here's a tip Mikey: If you are too far and hit a Pokemon without the Pokeball working, the Alpha won't see you because you are out of its range.
