- Hey, sweet friend! I hope you're having a most incredible day today and that you're feeling hopeful and happy! I have a lovely, romantic, Spring crochet shawl pattern to share with you! The Faded Blush shawl is suitable for the Adventurous Beginner level crocheter. In this tutorial, I'll demonstrate how to crochet the different sections of this shawl, as well as an alternative to the foundation double crochet cast on.
Download the Faded Blush shawl at: www.expression...
Faded Blush uses our Oasis Camel Silk Fingering yarn, which is an exotic, sultry blend of 50% camel fiber and 50% mulberry silk that has incredible softness and shimmer! When you want to treat yourself, this is the way to go! Wonderful for heirloom or wedding shawls, other wraps, scarves, sweaters, and so much more!
The sample is shown in colors: C1) Faded Rose and C2) Cool Blush. You'll need two skeins of C1 and one skein of C2: www.expression...
Our colors come and go rapidly, so please choose any you love before they disappear!

To me Fridays are not a Friday. They are a Chandi Day! ❤️❤️❤️ I look forward to these so much! Thank you!
Yay! You are so welcome! Enjoy!
Thank you for the foundation option and a bigger thank you for including the more traditional method as well!
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful. Enjoy making the Faded Blush Shawl. 💕
Such a beautiful shawl! I can feel the Spring time in the colors! Very sweet and pretty 😍
Oh, thank you for the chart! I've told you before that I do so much better with diagrams than with words. And the pattern is easily scaled to different weights of yarns, especially using a foundation row. Not wide enough? Add another repeat. Too wide? Frog back a repeat or two. I really look forward to making this!
P.S. for those who don't know what "frogging" is... that's when you have to (say it out loud) "rip it, rip it, rip it" out! 🐸
Have fun with it!
Absolutely what of the world shawl. Love you. Love the pattern.
Aww, thank you! ❤️
Shut the front and back door!!!

Chandi - you are just the cutest - and the tutorial is great!! The shawl's beautiful, and though I haven't crocheted in a while, I'm going to give this one a try. I have the perfect yarn for it. Thanks!
You can do it!
Hi Chandi, hope you are having a wonderful day! I just love your crocheting projects. I appreciate you showing us how to do some of the special stitches, but are you considering providing full tutorials from start to finish. I do not know how to read the patterns and/or charts. I do love crocheting.
We will do that from time to time, but it takes a significant amount of time to make just one video. Check out our Beginning Crochet playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLfA40G728UtHmn-vr4OLQGYBbrxKy89Tz.html to help with reading patterns and charts.
So beautiful, thank you for sharing Chandi 💕
My pleasure 😊
Beautiful, absolutely love the color🍁🐘🇨🇦🤗
Thank you so much!
Wow! A stunning shawl!
Thank you! 😊
I know this has nothing to do with this amazing pattern, but...I love your fingernails! Thank you for this video and have a great day.

Beautiful! Love the pattern!!! Thank you. :)
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful
Thank you!
Dear Chandi, thank you very much for your amazing work and thank you for the gifts you give us which are beautiful and much appreciated. Looking at the video where you teach how to crochet faster, it seemed to me that the crochet hook you use has a flatter and squared tip and the hollow where the thread rests when it is "captured" seems to me deeper than to the classic ones. May I ask which crochet hooks brand do you use to work? Thank you beautiful soul 🤗😍
Thank you so much 🙂 I really like the Susan Bates crochet hooks because of the shorter necks.
@@ExpressionFiberArts Thank you so much Chandi ❤️ have a wonderful day 🤗
Love this pattern; will definitely have to try it.
Awesome! Have fun!
This is beautiful and you make it look so easy. I downloaded the pattern and I'm a knitter but I'll try this pattern in a small sample with cheap yarn while I wait for my shawl kit to come. Thank you.
You're welcome! Enjoy!
This is so beautiful!!! I love it.
Thank you so much!
Really pretty,,when chaining that many,I always chain extra..you can always pick them out after row 1..or leave an extra long tail in case you need a few extra stitches..thx Chandi😄👍😊🧶
Great tip!
Thank you so much. Loved it.
You are so welcome!
Really beautiful
Thank you so much 😊
It's very Romantic crocheted
Thank you so much!
Absolutely beautiful, love this ❤
Thank you so much! Enjoy!
Oh geez, I have 3 skeins of Camelia and was going to make the Montastraea tee...but now I want to make this too! Decisions decisions.
Enjoy! Whichever one you decide to make! :)
Beautiful, thank you
Our pleasure!
Oh my goodness ❣️
So happy you like it!
It’s a gorgeous, unique shawl. Than you so much for sharing it with us. What yarn and color way are you using in your tutorial?
I'm not sure. It's just some leftover yarn I had laying around.
@@ExpressionFiberArts it’s gorgeous.
I love these patterns that look intricate with a beautiful design but that are fairly simple and perfect for a last minute gift! Thank you!
You're welcome! Glad you like them!
Hi Chandi this shawl is so gorgeous make a knit version of the pattern
So happy you like it!
Beautiful.
Thanks so much!
I’m new. Is this made in columns? And then attach and then start a new column. You make it seem so easy I’m really thinking about giving it a try. Thank you for the wonderful instructions. I wish you could do a video for the whole thing. I’m a visual learner. Beautiful colors. So pretty and elegant ❤. I watched the video again. I think I got it. Start out with long chain. Crochet across. Then when you want to go down and make it longer that’s when you cut and start in another place so it makes it longer. Oh boy. I hope I got it lol ❤
Yes, exactly, you've got it! 💞
Oh that's great thank you. It's so pretty I really want to try it now. 💖
Beatiful Like always 💖
Thank you! 😊
Shandy your yarn is absolutely scrumptious it is so beautiful, and thank you so much for sharing all these beautiful patterns with us for free that is absolutely amazing. I have one question the sweater you're wearing the blue sweater when it shows the pattern page what is that pattern called so that I can purchase it and make it please and thank you
So glad you like what we do! That sweater is our Königssee: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/konigssee.html
I cannot wait to make this! What color are you using in the video?
I'm not entirely sure. It's just some scrap yarn that I had lying around.
Thank you for such a gorgeous pattern. I love all your patterns and your channel. You seem a very a thoughtful and kind person and your channel reflects this. My only problem is that no matter how hard I try I cannot master foundation crochet stitches. Is it possible to make this pattern and any of your other patterns that state foundation chain rows doing the traditional method of regular chains? I really hope so! Thank you once again and hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
Thank you. Yes, in many of our crochet patterns, we provide alternative chaining instructions to replace the foundation cast-on stitches. In all of our videos, you'll find the link to the pattern itself. You can download this one at www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/faded-blush.html and you'll find the alternative CO instructions in the written pattern.
Chandi thank you so much for your patterns. I enjoy them very much and when I saw this shawl I just had to make it. Is there a possibility that I could get the multiple in case I would like to make it in a diferent size of yarn?
You're welcome! I'm glad you like it. I don't think I have that information, but please reach out to Johanna, the designer, at johanna.m.huck@gmail.com because I'm sure she has it. Thank you!
@@ExpressionFiberArts thank you Chandi you are the best. Have a wonderful Sunday and God bless

I love this shape of shawl! Wish I could crochet. I don't understand all the holes to put the hook through. I end up with a mess!lol!😂❤❤❤
I'm so glad you like it.
Love this shawl ❤️ is the yarn your using still available? I cannot find it
Thank you so much! The yarn base, Oasis Fingering, is available and one of the colors, Cool Blush is as well: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/cool-blush-oasis-fingering.html
But I think we're out of stock of the other color right now, it's called Faded Rose. There are a bunch of colors available, however, that will coordinate nicely with Cool Blush.
I hope this helps! 💕
Hi Chandi, I’m interested in the coloured yarn your using in your sample, just beautiful, it that available?
Need this yarn Chandi, your sample using ❤️🙏
Hi! I bought this and I’m wondering how many you recommended to chain to check gauge with this pattern. What multiple should I use. ? Thank you!
The swatch gauge is based on a regular double crochet square without the chevrons. I'd suggest starting with probably 28 dc (i.e. ch 31 or 28 FDC) and see where you end up after 16 rows or so.
The multiple for this pattern is 15+18 when using the FDC method and 16+19 if you use the chain method.
I hope this helps and makes sense.
Please, let me know if you have further questions. 💕
Thank you! My swatch turned out great. But I’ve had to pull out my first attempt at the FCD pattern as written. I may go with the alternate. I got off and found it a little difficult to find my spot. 😂
I know what I'm making for my mom for Christmas! This will be so interesting to make; I can't wait!
Are there going to be more solid colors coming out? I've never worked with camel before, and I LOVE the available colors, but there just don't seem to be a lot of solids to pair with the multicolored/speckled colorways.
We add new colorways weekly, but I can't say for sure right now if there will be new semi-solids anytime soon.
Hi mam..i love your shawl somuch 🥰🥰 I'm from India my state in Meghalaya from where can I buy your yarn i love it somuch i want to buy it

Is the widest row a multiple of 16?
No, it's not. You can find the full written instructions in the pattern at: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/faded-blush.html but the CO on edge is the widest part of the shawl, and you cast on 408 FDC.
