- After one of the biggest losing streak of my life I just had to make things right and get some wins so I get a little bit closer to finishing this challenge so I channeled all my will and went on a huge win streak.
This video pretty much sums up what I've learned during this Unranked to GM challenge with Mercy - applying all the tips I've learned, getting better and better at doing the super jump technique, understanding how to play against certain heroes and how to get the most out of Mercy.
This has definitely been a challenge for me since I have not played more than 50 hours of Mercy until I started this series. I needed nearly 200 games to understand how the hero works fully, how to use her abilities at the maximum capacity and how to be slippery with my movement.
This being said I hope you'll enjoy this video. My goal for this series is to make it a pleasant learning experience that will help you in further developing your capacity of analyzing your gameplay in order to learn how to better play the game and the heroes you like.

The pistol guilt is so real. But what's worse is when people think you're trash when you go battle mercy and don't heal 24/7.
None of yall will kill the widow so I'll do it my dang self.

@@ophist8399 not at all, if everyone else sucks and kill a Pharah, Widow, Hanzo or Ana might as well do it ourselves. There's a reason for a second support. Plus Mercy is meant to damage boost alot, what's the point of damage boosting a dps that can't land shit and won't kill them, gotta take matter into your own hands 🤷♂️

I love how he reported the players that left and were toxic. I was once on a losing team, and 4 out of 6 of our players left. Me and my friend were the only ones who stayed, and we just laughed about it with the enemy team, accepting our loss.

Imagine if ml7 just said you should learn how to use Mercy's wings on your flight down.
Mercy is a very good character to do callouts with because you don't have to be looking at teammates to heal them. These makes it easy to watch for flankers and valkyrie offers really nice mobility for scouting as well.
when you think you are safe to res and turn around just to see wild Sigma using the force. the pain I know too well...
I know its hard but it's amazing to hear what a t500 player thinks about during the game that by itself was entertaining not to mention the jokes and insane gameplay!

I sometimes think Mercy's hps is just barely enough to heal during fights. I feel like a buff to 55 HPS would make her perfect.

just a quick tip for whoever sees this: looking down during a rez doesn't change too much, but looking down and turning your shoulder to whoever is shooting at you does. Both your wing and arm get in the way of them headshotting you so it's not an easy kill :)
Mercy is stuck in her rez animation so looking down doesn’t change the animation!
His pistol skills hurt my feelings, If I could aim like that I could solo, feels bad :( He just efficiently kills things when his team cant, I just miss almost every shot lmao

Ever since I saw ML7 using the glock alot more than I did, I started to get addicted to flocking the enemy
My problem with unranked to GM mercy is it sort of feels like if I dont keep the entire team alive and simultaneously kill the entire enemy team with my pistol, I just lose SR. And like.. a lot of it.
I have the same problem. I place plat then get stuck in gold/silver bc if I'm not hacking to keep my team Alive we lose. 🙃 effing annoying that sr depends so much on a whole team of usual randos to do anything.

@ml7, I noticed that, even in higher ranks, you prioritized healing a lot during valk. Is there a certain reason for this that I’m not catching? I’ve heard from a mercy player in top 500 (niandra) that mass damage boost is the best option when valking.
Valkyrie can be used two ways, defensively to save your team, or offensively to win the fight. Most of the time I see Valkyrie used offensively is when engaging. It’s situational, I’m sure Niandra states that damage boost is better because afterwards you can heal back for ultimate charge. I’ve watched pro Mercy players heal during valk most likely because it’s better to heal during situations where you’re stalling point, an ally is critical, or the team is split so you can’t mass damage boost. Sometimes when everyone is at a decent health and they choose to heal it’s most likely them subconsciously doing it (I do the same, might as well get them to full health). You can’t heal back for ultimate charge if they’re dead. For ML7, I feel like most of the time I just saw him glock everyone lol.

How did he use guardian Angel on 4:46 ? There was no player to fly to.
6 months late reply, but if you look he was holding shift so he could GA as soon as he had LOS. The GA icon that appears on allies doesn’t need to be shown to GA to them, as long as you have LOS in range.
Me and you have very different play styles as mercy, but since we’re in the same rank I’m just trying to learn some of your decision making. In many games you healed ally’s who were full health or anti naided, why?

Change your GA mode from toggle to hold. Then to do that you simply hold down shift. Sometimes the window someone is a viable GA target is so small that the marker doesn't show on screen, but if you have GA continuously pressed, it "auto" jumps the moment a target is available.

Wait you went from unranked to diamond? How, I can’t get of high plat
The first step to getting out of hard stuck plat is to finally admit that you are the problem and work on fixing your weaknesses.
You need 2 of the 3 main traits to get into diamond.
1- mechanics (aim, abilities, and enemy abilities)
2- Situational awareness aka game-sense (not tunnel visioning in fights, talking over voice, tracking enemy ult charge, tracking enemy abilities, tracking how many people alive)
3- Map awareness (heal locations, best defence locations, ledges/ alternate routes, and popular flank locations)
There are people in plat with top 500 aim but they do not have any of the other needed skills.
high plat requires 1 of the above “mastered”
diamond requires 2 of the above
master+ requires all 3.
Diamond+ requires constant practice to hold the rank.
