i play in masters around 5am and i get top 500s cuz they run out of players lol, played against chipsa and shit its pretty nerve wracking

Anybody with a 92% wr in plat isn't plat. Blizzard matchmakes with hidden mmr, not your meaningless "rank".
Didn't you understand anything she said ? She said "look at my profile it's a fresh account and I have such a good win rate that I am playing in top500 with plat rank"
Hence her real rank is prolly grandmaster or top 500 on her main she never said that she is plat on her main
It's a new account so her MMR is climbing rapidly and her SR is climbing faster than normal but not fast enough to catch up to her MMR (yet). If she is a GM skilled Mercy player its better that she is already playing in GM games than to be dominating Plat and Diamond games for hours on end

i went from bronze 5 to plat 5 this season with sigma only and quickly realized how bad i truly was at this game

Crazy. How much have you played? This whole season I been silver 3 for tank and already won 28 games. Everytime I win 7 games my rank just stays the same.

@@ivyzun8543 I think it's also based on performance. I went 5-7 once while climbing back up to Masters, yet I still went up two ranks in diamond. However, last season, I went 3-7 and stayed the same rank (M3) despite the fact that I should've been 100 positive on the SR front (which is what each division is) based on how much you lose and gain in Overwatch 1. There's definitely more going on in the background.
@@revenge3265 I think performance only matters when you have a "boost". Otherwise, it's only the win rate that counts. Even in elo below diamond. When I was ranked silver 3 for the first time, I saw the boost. I went from Silver 3 to Silver 1 and then from Silver 1 to Gold 5 even though I lost 6 games in a row. Then, during the rank reset at the beginning of the season 2, I lost 1 rank (Went from Gold 5 to Silver 5). I noticed that I was no longer winning 2 divisions per 7 wins even though I was doing well. By well, I mean 2 losses for 7 wins. In fact, if I had 4 losses for 7 wins I was not winning a division

You realize she her true rating is GM. If you are winning 92% of your games in Plat, you are not plat. Her rank only updates every 7 wins and because it's a new account her skill tier isn't caught up with her MMR. Blizz has bad matchmaking, but this isn't one of those moments.

I've been having consistent games filled with masters and gm players. The game I had getquakedon on my team I was plat 3. I am currently D5 and having been having a hard time wanting to play ranked because my games are either insanely high rated or full of gold/plat players. I've been trying to see if it was if it's just me feeling like that so I check peoples profiles and while there are a lot of private profiles, if you find ones that are open profile after awhile you start to see patterns,
they been doing this since ow1. when youre on a win streak they'll put you in a higher game at one point, loss streak lower game, and would be like a very soft reset to your sr gains/losses based on outcome of it.
No they do this throughout every rank. I got into top 500/gm games multiple times when in gold/plat in ow1. I got intrigued and started doing a study on my sr gains/losses and stats and whatnot and yeah lol, I can tell you based on that that this happens in every rank.
Pretty sure that this season, they made winning/losing streaks even more impactful, to compensate for starting new accounts in bronze 5 instead of gold or silver.

Why am I still getting new players in gold/plat just yesterday? 🤣 also I don't think so, had an 9 game win streak couple days ago and had 4 loses before it in that 7 win set or whatever you call it and stayed same rank/division so 🤣 not sure I believe that
@@melanie6169 Here's the neat part, MMR isn't directly tied to rank/division, and you don't get to see its actual value. As for still getting new players, maybe they played 1 or 2 ranked games last season and got the high initial MMR carried over into this season, might even be possible only newly created accounts are affected if that's when the initial value is assigned.
@@ultru3525 Rankeds are pretty weird. I got placed un gold 3 after doing the positioning and climbed my way to master 5 in only two weeks. I was mid diamond in ow1 for 6 seasons straight so idk if I deserve this or if I was extremely lucky with my wins xd

I get weird games lately. I had a game with three GMs and a master, followed by a game of all silver.
Yeah it's genuinely frustrating, because if I'm getting regularly placed in Masters/GM games in Plat and still managing to win, why not let my rank reflect that? But on the flip side, I'll also see silver players pretty regularly too?
It feels having a high rank just means you've sank a lot of time in the game, and it isn't a reflection of your skill whatsoever.
It's a very strange ranked experience.
Tbh this is just another example of why I don’t feel like playing ranked. For someone who can be max plat or dia, i don’t see the reason to even try. Why i, vet of ow1, need to try, when new accs have free boost? I get 3 people on my team who don’t know how to play and drunk second support who’s playing spam simulator- meanwhile new accs get to plat rank easily and then proceed to post vod ask for basics.

I seen some people with top 500 profile cards in my games even though I'm gold on roles. Dont know if it's from something like the old competitive arcade modes though.
It's weird how streamers and the community think that matchmaking isn't working. I've watched a symm unranked to gm video the last two days, and the symm was Plat 2 in top top top 500 games and winning. There is a reason for the rank, because the symm started at like gold 3. At first rank up, the symm ranked up 4 tiers. Even then, they are still playing in top 500.
Because most people agree that 90% of the games are roll or be rolled and there are rarely even games
So Blizzard has installed a gate keeping mechanical. If you win you much they put you in a GM game 😆. So it's basically impossible to have a 100% Winrate in a season.

the skills of a bronze player to gold player are not the same, the skills of a plat player to gm player are not the same and it's laughable that blizzard thinks it's okay to match diff ranks together. frankly ruins the game for everyone when matchmaking is so bad

This is too common for me to even enjoy the game. I’m dog shit (low gold), my wife is like bottom 500 but we liked this game anyway (3k hours between us). We came back to try just quick play yesterday and got rolled in four straight games by masters or higher players. Did they just break the matchmaking?
Yeah. But it’ll get better. I had that issue at first too. I’m wood tier. Things sorted out where I don’t feel like quitting forever now lol.
You know you ain't playing ow right when u dont have plat players in ur gm games, same goes for gm players in my gold games. Its roll or get rolled by that one player put in the wrong lobby.

Same here, I'm in gold 2 from that deranking in the beginning of a new season and had a top 500 player in a game with all other players being masters/diamonds

That's because the public elo system might as well just be a number that increases the more you play, because that's what it is.
The game keeps stats on players and puts them in the 'correct' ranks based on their play, not their "rank".
Yep looks like she deserves her MMR and SR will catch up with more play time.

I made a new account myself, won the 50 games, lost 8 and got placed in master lobbies.... Which is fine, because my main and other alt. acc. is also masters.
I was diamond 5 and I was placed in a top 500 lobby unfortunately I got slaughtered. I was gold 4 a week and a half ago.
My team flamed me the whole game it wasn't very nice.
I swear 2 people with the same rank could have differnt lobbies. Had to join a support buddy becuase I had a massive loosing streak and once i joined his lobbies (same rank) people was saying im cracked 💀

This happened to me last weekend LOL!! I'm in Silver 1 and went on a 20-3 tear and somehow ended up in a Diamond lobby 🤣🤣, I played over 1k hours in OW1 but that was on console and now I'm on PC so only my cosmetics transferred over but none of the game time it seems even thought my rank prestige did carry over. So to the game it's a new account since I played a handful of games the last season of OW1 on PC for the first time to see how big of a skill gap it was going to be since I was Plat on console lol.... I was humbled 🙃🙃🙃🙃

i think new accounts get ranked very low still and then boosted hard if it suspects smurfing. she has an insane winstreak so the game just kinda tests the water probably. Its so funny to look at
